So this is less of a bug report, and more of just a question out of curiosity:

It's been a long time since I played Minecraft, much less updated any of my mods, so I jumped straight from MoC ~5.2.5 to 8.0.0.

When I started playing, it didn't take long for me to notice that nothing was spawning in the ocean except for vanilla squid, so I read through the forum until I figured out how to edit the config files. So here's my question; how come, in the config files, all of the water creatures (dolphins, fish, sharks, etc.) were labeled "UNDEFINED" (iirc) instead of "WATER_CREATURE", and had their spawning set to false? Is it just because the version of MoC I downloaded is a beta? Because I mean there are some bugs with the water creatures, like the larger fish swimming on top of the water and some weirdness with the hitboxes, but other than that they seem to be working fine.

So yeah, just something that piqued my curiosity B)

    Hello All,
I like the mod very much but have a question. While I think the "kitties" are interesting. I am hoping to find an ocelot. I have yet to run across one. It took forever to find "vanilla" wolves. I turned the spawner to 10 but no luck yet. Are ocelots that rare?

I've noticed something like this too... It seems that after this mod is installed, vanilla creatures stop respawning. For instance, I killed most/all of the vanilla animals near my base before installing this, and after installing I had to travel to a chunk that hadn't been loaded before to get any vanillas, even with vanilla spawns turned all the way up and Mo' Creatures spawns off.

Does this just happen for a few people, or does this mod actually mess with vanilla spawns?

Also, unrelated, but I really like the comment somebody made a few pages back about being able to tie animals to fences.

This is the best mod I've ever had! And how do I harvest fire? In one of the crafting recipes it requires fire. How do I get that in a legit SSP world?

To get fire just go to the Nether on Easy mode (or above) and kill some Hell Rats, they will drop Fire occasionally :) Fire Ogres (another Nether mob) can also drop fire, but you have to be on Normal/Hard (I forget which, sorry) for them to spawn.

So, somewhere along the lines of attempting to update my Minecraft and Mo' Creatures, I did something stupid and got this:

    Bad video card drivers!
    -----------------------
Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

Is this related to Mo'Creatures / something I did, or do I actually need to buy a new video card to keep playing the game?
    Thanks.

@OP Congrats on having your mod be put into the actual game! :P I could never download this because I didn't have the right version, but I'm looking forward to using it now haha :)

These are more so mod edit suggestions than new mob suggestions, but it would be cool if the BigCats repelled Creepers like the vanilla ocelots do.

Also, it would be nice if the Aquarium/kitty bed/kitty litter placement was changed to be more like regular blocks to make it easier to control where you put them down.

    Thanks.

I haven't updated to the newest version yet, so I don't know if this was fixed (or if it was intentional / a known thing, I didn't see anything in the OP), but since I downloaded M'C, no new vanilla mobs have been spawned after I kill them out of an area, so I only see them when I go somewhere that hasn't been loaded before.

I changed the spawn settings so all the M'C animals were at '0' and I cranked up the vanilla spawn rates, but no new ones have spawned as far as I can tell.

Was this added on purpose? Or did I mess something up / is it a bug?

Also, I know this isn't the suggestions page, but it would be neat if the Big Cats repelled Creepers like vanilla ocelots do, and if Aquariums could be placed like regular blocks (I don't know if this got changed in recent updates, I saw that the kitty bed / litter placement got edited and that was similar to the auariums).

    Thanks.

Dude plzz make so bunnies are tamable and will follow or stay when you tell them!!!! I want bunnies in my garden but they keep escaping!

Rabbits get "tamed" when you right-click them and put them on your head in the sense that they won't despawn anymore, so if you have a fence around your garden they should just hop around in there :)

I have a question, the new horses work fine on my computer (windows 7), but on my brothers computer (windows xp), he cant even look at the new horses without getting major lag. Get closer to them and the lag gets worse. Any idea whats going on here? I might be able to get a video of this up, but we had to turn the horsies off for now. :(

Not that I know what I'm doing or anything, you can probably rule out the version of Windows he has as the problem, as I am running Mo' Creatures just fine on an XP PC. The only thing I can suggest would be to check that you installed everything correctly/ have all of the most recent downloads.

Completely unrelated, but I cannot tame goats or cats (I know how to do it, but it doesn't work for me). Is anyone else having this problem/has a solution? (Also, I love how you can give chests to all of the horses now :) )

Just got the update on SSP and it is awesome!! The horses look absolutely fantastic, and I love all of the other new things as well (turtle meat is gross, btw XD). The only thing I've had an issue with is a missing texture for the Nether Ostrich, but it looks like other people have that, too...

Also, (and this goes back to when I first downloaded this mod with version 3.6.2), I cannot seem to tame goats or cats. Goats will eat my items but the naming screen will not come up, even when I right-click on them with a book/medallion after they've eaten, and the cats just won't eat the dropped fish. I'm guessing that this is a problem on my end, can anyone offer a suggestion as to what it might be?

Just a quick question, if I take out the Mo' Creatures file in my 'mods' folder and replace it with the newest version of Mo' Creatures (and replace Forge and CustomMobSpawner with their newest versions as well), this WILL NOT get rid of my tamed animals/collected items from this mod in-game, correct?

    Thanks.

Well by deleting the mods folder you probably deleted custom mod spawner which is required for the mod to run... that should be the problem, hoped that helped.

Sorry, I said the wrong thing:P I meant that I put both a newly downloaded mod and a new mod spawner into the folder, and when I went back into the game my tamed animals and collected items were gone. The animals from this mod were still spawning in the world, though.

Ok, so I am a complete and total noob/moron (take your pick), but can anyone help me with updating/re-installing mods? Mo' Creatures is my only downloaded mod at the moment, and when I was having trouble with it a little while ago I tried to re-install it (by deleting my entire "mods" folder and then putting a new copy of the mod in lol:P) which caused all of my tamed animals and all the items from this mod in my chests/inventory to dissapear. Is there a way to update/re-install without having this happen?

    Sorry for being a noob:P

I need help badly. Somehow I got an ostrich as a pet and somehow it laid eggs that hatched and keep prompting me to name them. Does anyone know how, they just keep multiplying!!!!

If you want to stop the eggs from hatching, you have to remove all of the torches near them. This won't stop them being laid, though. Also, I'm pretty sure that Glowstone and Redstone Torches won't make them hatch.

I find it helpful to only keep the males as pets :P

I have a problem. Whenever I try to tame a goat or kitty it doesn't work. Kitties won't eat fish. Goats just eat all my food and don't get tamed. Help!

I'm having the same problem with the goats... :(

posted a message on Help with correctly re-installing a mod?
Hey, so I'm pretty new to this, and I'm sorry if someone else has already posted about this, but I am having trouble with a mod (Dr. Zhark's Mo' Creatures, the only one I have) and was wondering how to re-install it correctly.

The last time I was having trouble with this mod, I tried to re-install it by completely deleting my mods folder from my .minecraft file and then re-creating the mods folder and putting everything back in. When I opened my world again, though, I found that all of the creatures I had tamed were gone, and all the items from the mod had been deleted from my chests/inventory.

Did I re-install it correctly? Or is there some other, more efficient way? Also, will all forms of re-installing/updating delete the things you've collected from the mods from your world? Or is there a way around this?

    Thanks.
