Wow, I really like that spider spawn idea.

You know, I find it funny that when people quote that particular post of mine, it only shows up in the email as having quoted the last line.

This system isn't broken at all...

Have you PMed Jig yet ?

Erm, no... I tend not to PM people much. Plus it's already posted here, and I don't know what else would go into a PM that I haven't already said.

Also I checked just now, and in fact I had not set the license to creative commons (because if I had it would just be crying out for someone to do something like this.) But it wasn't and I have NEVER used it even accidentally.

'Scuse me... It seems someone else has re-uploaded my entry video.

    My vid:

    Some other random person's vid:

Does this mean I need to give proof that I was the original creator? I can, I just need some notice to do so.

    Well this officially sucks :sad.gif:

The cooling fan in my graphics card just came loose & started making ridiculously loud noises. I quickly took it out 'cause I'm pretty sure if I keep it running for too long, it'll break out of it's axle.

The sucky part being, without that card, I can't run Minecraft since the built-in card doesn't support opengl. So I have to choose between my pc's well being or this contest.

Yeah, sucks, I know, I said this in the first line already & why don't we have a crying emoticon :angry.gif:

I'm no expert but...what's stopping you from buying a new card, or a replacement fan?

If you can't, does mcedit still work? Maybe you could finish your entry that way.

true but i hav seen people that enjoy the end so i added it

meh that may be the case, the end is cool but the hardest one to actually live in. And it's not balanced by any useful or interesting resources. ("Ooh, white cobblestone" TEXTURE PACK)

    Seriously?
    The end is an option?

You are not a true minecraft player if you think the end could possibly be anyone's favorite realm. Sad but true.

I have to say the real world because if you want to live in the nether you have to bring most resources with you and keep going back if you run out of, say, iron, and it's not even possible to legitimately build a cobble generator there.

Edit: Lol "real world" they're all equally real. I meant earth.

I'm also planning an emphasis on mob fighting, so expect that in the final entry.
In which case, I strongly suggest using either the Careful Creepers mod (preferred since Creepers still pose a threat even then, just only to you) or the 'creeper explosion disable' command on Single player Commands (makes Creepers unable to explode, so they just try to hug you instead).
Because otherwise, Creepers may break some delicate redstone wiring since the map is quite limited on space :sad.gif:
But if you really don't want to use mods, then just make sure they don't explode. Kill them quick or snipe them from afar.

My solution is to only use mobs with unusual shapes (*cough* spiders *cough*) make the spawning area not accommodate tall mobs, and light up everywhere except the spawners so creepers cannot spawn at all.

Am I incorrect in saying that you've made another map that is chronogically before this one?

You are correct. Don't tell me the link isn't in the op? If not it's here.

Difficulty = I felt you had a good balance of mobs and puzzles. Overall you have a really good score, I hope your map is getting some notice.

Oh right, I forgot you ever saw the mine ;D

(Notices one name in a different shade of blue)
    2 story?
    4 difficulty?

    Huh?

Thought it would be 3-4 story and 1 for difficulty (I like maps harder than most)

BTW the f in my name isn't supposed to be capitalized. Just saying.

posted a message on About jungles...
So, apparently jungles fully require a new world and not new areas generated. I have a couple questions about this:
    1. Will they spawn in old worlds once the 1.2 update is fully released?
    2. If not, is there any way to change the level.dat so they will generate in old worlds?

Generally I'm struggling with which blocks to modify (for example, I'm planning on making a "sideways birch bark" texture so it looks like the player is crossing a "fallen birch tree". It's tricky because I don't know of a block that has a special texture for two sides anbd has the rest be the same texture, so I'm thining of covering the "inside" part of the tree with something else.)

Thought of using a workbench? It's got the planks texture on the bottom, admittedly, but that would be facing the ground, yes?
