Well then how can this guy (http://www.planetmin...pack-flans-mod/) make guns with a three-burst fire (battle rifle, possible shotguns) and a zoom/scope for almost all of the weapons. (Yes his mod is a Flans add-on). Not trying to be rude... Just curious...
I never claimed you can't add scopes, I said you can't change the zoom/scope key. Second, firing three bullets at once isn't the same as burst fire, and it only uses one round of ammo when it shoots, so you can't use the same ammo for both burst and non-burst guns unless you don't mind burst guns mysteriously having three times (if it's a three round burst) as much ammo from the same magazine.
Really, it's not that complicated. Pull trigger, create spark, light powder, make explosion, launch projectile. The TNT cannons in Minecraft right now are technically guns.
Guns in Minecraft? No way. Just play with mods or on a modded server. Minecraft is not meant to be over complicated with weaponry. I like to think of it as more of a "creative" game.
Please define complicated weaponry. Functionally, guns are somewhat simpler then bows, and were invented in the middle ages. Are you suggesting the removal of bows? And what's uncreative about complicated technology?
Since I previously suggested adding burst fire, I thought I might suggest how. Simply make it behave like automatic fire, but count how many times it fires and make it stop firing after it reaches the value set in the text file.
I apologize, but I must once again point out how much having the punch key being used to scope/zoom annoys me.
I'd love something like this, but it would be nice if there were a few other villager buttons, such as one they would press when being attacked or chased (for alarms) and one they would press at any time (for one way doors, or iron doors villagers could use), in order to really make use of them.
But as I said before, a way to choose how many bullets are spent when firing a gun (for burst fire and such) and a way to reassign the key to zoom/scope would be greatly appreciated.

Firearms have been around since the twelfth century, and other gunpowder-based weapons have been around since the ninth.

I know. I never suggested there was any relation.

Yeah, I'm surprised not many people realize it was originally aimed at adults.

Good idea, though it would be nice if there were also some way to turn on a safety, making the the character hold the gun the way they do now.

Must...resist urge...to correct punctuation. You're doing this to torture me, aren't you?
I actually just said that because no matter how many times you correct them, they just come back and spam "op and gunz r modern" and such.
