This mod will be a new mod that encompasses a lot of different things. Industrialization, new types of stone, new mobs, transportation, and more! This mod is in very early stages, so there is much more to come!
I will attempt to get some screenshots posted by the end of today!
no, there wont be new tool types, just a few new building blocks. minecraft needs more building blocks, wouldnt you agree? they wouldnt spawn like iron or diamonds, in small, neat deposits. they would generate like dirt and gravel, common, in large depostis.
here is some i really want.
GRANITE- a dark green stone with specks of light brown.
MARBLE- a creamy white stone.
and here is some that just popped into my head.
BASALT- a very dark gray stone, not quite black.
LIMESTONE- a lighter, rougher looking kind of stone.
SHALE- a brown rock that appears layered.
SLATE- a bluish green type of rock.
I was working on a mod like that, but then i lost the source code and was too lazy to rewrite it.
I think most people don't understand where he was going with the unlimited height. Right now chunks go from bedrock to height limit. He is suggesting to change the chunk system to 16x16x16 cubes instead of having to load a whole column of blocks even if you're just moving around let's say y60.
This would probably cause much less strain on the computer, since you're skipping loading all the blocks above and below you.
And this is where the unlimited height comes in. Since you'll only load the surrounding 64x64x64 blocks or any other distance your computer can handle, we wouldn't need a height limit. This could even be optimized by loading less blocks vertically than horizontally because it usually takes longer to move up / down.
This is a good suggestion, but also a major rewrite of the chunk loading code I suppose.
Not good chances of seeing it happening.
This is a very good idea, though. You're right in everything you've said, but i think with enough consideration, mojang might change the system based on this idea.
I like the idea, but the problem is the minecraft sound system would not work to well with this. The game has a 3d sound system that ignores any obstruction between you and the noise, and the only thing that affects volume is distance from the source. Creating this block would require a rewrite of the sound engine. I like the idea though!
Similar to the blocks in many redstone mods, I think there should be some sort of a.... reverse dispenser (or so to speak.). A vacuum that would suck up items within a certain radius and place them in a chest adjacent to them. This would only happen if the block was powered. I don't know. Something like this could be infinitely useful though. Any suggestions?
I would love it if there was some sort of mechanism to control the movement of the cloud. This shouldn't be in the official version, but it SHOULD absolutely be a mod.
I am curious, what is the biggest Papercraft mob that anyone has made?
My papercraft enderdragon. It's the biggest single model.
It's to scale with the one in game, its about 2.5 feet long. (that may be completely wrong :/) watch the video on my channel!

As long as you can decide on the type of biome the world is generated with.
