i have been having this exact same problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled minecraft like 3 times, updated my graphics drivers, updated java and it still crashes when trying to load into a save.
i am having this very same issue 2 months after your post. i have emailed them, but may have to resort to signing off my main account on the minecraft.net website and just creating a new account by purchasing it, making a new username and giving my friend the account. this is seriously stupid.
