Of course it wouldnt let you save it if you didnt have the full version, what would the point be in basically giving you the pack for free ?

I am still having issues with this myself and even with trying all the suggestions I saw here I lost all the animals in the pen again. I am beginning to think I should give it up as a bad idea.

No problem, i can understand the confusion as they were calling the game share family share which as a bit of a misnomer.

Indeed they were seperate things, the family share was nice because it meant i could also share games with people I wasnt going to be able to get the disk to properly such as those on a different continent.

noticed a few people confused here and elsewhere. the thing that is gone is the family sharing of games which you have a group of 10 people who can share peoples games digitally. This no longer exists.

Xbox Live Gold Family is still being replaced by the ability to link some number of accounts ( I keep seeing 5 but cant confirm) to a single xbox accounts gold subscription (this supposedly doesnt cost any more, leaving a family able to connect for less than they can currently)

The family share is gone because where as previous a game was linked to an account so all another account linked to it had to do as confirm the game as still registered to the owner. Now that the disk is the DRM there is no way for that to happen so the family share is gone. As it the ability to play any game from any xbox if you log into your account unless of course you want to take all your disks with you then it works fine.

and? If authentication is required for the shared games, then your buddies wont have access to your games until you authenticate. pretty simple. How does that effect YOUR ability to play your own games? Keep grasping at straws.

Because they can share at ANY time for your library, online they authorise check with them being connected, which cannot happen with the possibilities you mention.

It should be also noted that there will be options to turn the kinect off when the console is in standby, or disable the device entirely if you so desire. People making mountains out of molehills in this topic....

Also everyone should note that microsoft is looking at alternatives to the 24-hour check-in. One such alternative would be that you would need the physical disc in the drive for it to work. Another is the ability to tether your smart phone to your xbox and authenticate that way.

The trouble with any of those is... how does it work for those you share the games with as they have said you can give people access to your library, well they arent gonna have the disk, they aret gonna have your phone..

People are making this more complicated than it needs to be.

Stick a flash drive into your Xbox 360, load your worlds onto it and stick it into an Xbox One. start Minecraft on your Xbox One. It would likely auto detect thee old saves and ask if you wanted to convert them. If you say yes, it would likely convert the 360 saves to Xbox One save format. Once you would load the world, it would generate everything already done on the 360. Once you reach the edge of the 360 world, it would then just begin generating again.

That easy. The console would do all the work. They could build the save transfer/formatting/converting into the Xbox One Edition of Minecraft. also, 4J and Microsoft are still looking into the save transfer. The article about how it was "confirmed" that they weren't going to isn't actually confirmed.

Phil Spencer said they're still talking about it with 4J and Mojang. https://twitter.com/...940636232478721

and you are making it far too easy, if it was that simple then the games would also work on the ONE and they dont

The most simple way to do this, would set up the game to use the old world, but have a seperate function to do so, but they would need to add an update to the 360 version, that would add a text file or something to the save that says something and the xbox one version would read that know its a 360 save, then not let world generation happen out of the 1000x1000 section, very simple idea, plus wont take long to code into the xbox one version.

Sounds more complicated than just letting it carry on generating to be honest.

Considering I hadnt even found any confirmation it was going to be a retail version from the get go I shall wait and see, so far it could just be stores putting it up at the same price as all the other games.

In most cases the more people without internet bought the consoles.

While I wont argue its a significant portion and it was a daft decision thats simply not true.

Yeah I agree MS is being up front, though often confusing is the real issue.

But then I am still having to tell supposed Playstation enthusiasts that they will have a fee for the PSN with the 4 as many havent a clue.
