posted a message on Odd squid farm issue

So we are building a squid farm on the server, and taking in to account the new spawn rules of river or ocean only we have done this in a river biome where we drained all the rrest of the river in the area. When we had drained it the small piece left spawned plenty of squid and salmon. But as soon as we dug that space out to be deeper and go as far down as squid can spawn ... we are now getting zero spawns.

posted a message on New to Bedrock and Realms

Hi Guys, I haven't played on the versions that have updated to Bedrock since before the transition, and have never used a realm before, but now I have friends and their kids playing we have a realm together.

I understand that co-ordinates were until recently only in cheat on single player, is this the case still for realms, that there is no way to display co-ordinates withoutout activating cheat mode at some point ?

Also we noticed on this realm, the first 3 temples we have found have ZERO loot chests, is this a known issue, a setting somewhere, a weird bug we have created ?

    Thanks

posted a message on some texture packs rolled over, some didnt

That's an improvement over mine where not a single texture pack has transferred for me, I *finally* managed to get the better together without paying but I have none of the texture packs, and while I know some stuff isn't transferring the basic texture like nature are supposed to.

Do you have Java installed on your system? Minecraft uses it's own internal copy of Java now, so that it works without a system-wide Java installation - but the Optifine installer relies on the system's Java install (it's probably possible to use MC's copy, but you'd have to use the command line and type the full path to the javaw executable - it's more complicated than necessary, so installing Java system-wide is simpler)

I do indeed, I even tried reinstalling java, and several different versions incase that was the issue.

OptiFine in vanilla launcher works as usual: double click + install, run vanilla launcher.
OptiFine with Forge works as usual: put OptiFine in mods folder, run with Forge.
OptiFine with external launchers (MultiMC, MagicLauncher) without Forge needs one additional step: double click + extract, use the extracted MOD jar as usual.

Unfortunatly for me, double clicking does... nothing :( still havnt figured out why.

Not able to get the 1.9.2 version installed either, same problem I had previously which is weird, the outline of a window flashes up then immediately closes, nothing else happens.

Probably a very rare issue but just incase anyone else does run in to it so they can know they arnt the only one. trying to run the .jar a window flashes up so far you cant see what it has on it and then nothing else. I also cant get the install working through magic launcher either. I have installed JRE from several locations incase one was corrupt, tried different normal Java versions, multiple downloads of bother MagLaucher and Optifine but so far no luck.

posted a message on Powering stacked piston arrays - help wanted

This is the sort of effect we are after, I realise it may be a bit much to get them perfectly up and down, and most especially with that spacing, the bookcases marked in red would be the ones that should move up and down, the ones covered by the carpet can stay as they are.

posted a message on Powering stacked piston arrays - help wanted

    Hi guys,

I am making a rather substantial storage room at the moment on my server with the hopes of also doubling it up as a library appearance wise.

The current plan is a large series of chests in banks of 6 double chests, 3 along 2 high and bookshelves in front for a total facing of 6 blocks across 2 tall.

I am trying to figure out how much space I would need above and below these bookcases to have repeating floors of them all retract the bookcases with a single lever pull.

I have a number of designs that don't add *too* many levels between them but they do instead bring each set of chests and bookcases out a lot further forwards than the last which is something we really want to limit as much as possible.

What ways would be the most efficient to power these piston arrays while limiting the distance between each stacked array and also limiting any "push" forwards of each array ?

I realise I probably haven't explained very well and I shall try for a quick mock up of the front of the idea later if I can.

    Any help is appreciated greatly.

posted a message on Looking for:

Hi guys, As is often the case I started work on a base idea before fully thinking things through and I now have a base where the floor is very close to bedrock but also a need for some hidden doors; preferably 3x3 or greater.

I can; at least as it currently stands, adapt walls etc to fit designs that are either top heavy on the redstone or where the redstone spreads sideways substantially. Unfortunately most of the designs I see are heavy on the redstone below the door; does anyone know of any designs, preferably with a decent tutorial, that would work for me ?

    Thanks

As I said, the connection is identical between the two systems, only one has the issue, and my 60gig connection shouldn't have any issues regardless of system (nor does it have problems with any other online games)
