posted a message on get your sh*t together mojang...
This is the first non-platform game that I have played since Civ 5. I think it's simply awesome that the creators/programers have such an open relation with the end users. I remember it used to be "Here's the game. 50(money units) please." And then they forgot about you! "Patch? We're busy. Get used to the way it is!"
This is a whole new expieriance for me.
***** about a bug? sure. Call Notch and Jeb all kinds of deprocating names(in good fun)? Absolutely!
But to come on here and seriously MF the crew at Mojang for INCLUDING US? Play a different game!
Maybe if the crew at Civ 5 did it like this, the game wouldn't have been so terrible.
    Keep it up Mojang!

posted a message on My Desert Terraforming (legit)
Removing or adding terrain features can be time consuming when doing it "legit". (Technically speaking, this is known as mega(or macro)engineering, not terraforming) This activty alone, while tedious, fails to impress most unless you do something with the new area you created. Build something in place of that hill. Use the resources from the (former) hill. Then show your before/after pics. That sir, will impress us.

Love the math! Also like the optical illusion your post created, where the line of iron ingots appears to be going down. Neat!

    Iron armour
    stone and iron tools
Exept when I do a high level enchantment, I do it on diamond (tools and armour)

If you're worried about "burnin' down the house", why not try glowstone? At least an accident (or errant creeper!) won't end up in catastrophy. Also a lot easier to move if you redesign.

It never used to be that way, providing you are in a boat and stay close enough. (you are in a boat, right?)
I know in the new snapshots they tweeked the mobs a bit. Maybe that's one of the changes.

posted a message on What did you think when you first saw Minecraft?
I was reading a story on the news about a teenage boy in california who almost died playing minecraft. He and his friends were digging tunnels in the sand (NEVER do this!!!!) at the beach, some of them 6 feet deep, when one of them collapsed on him. He was very lucky to survive. I had followed the link to minecraft. Like someone else on here had posted, I am from a time when there were no video games, so playability is much more interesting to me than graphics. I wandered around for a while checking out "the island". I realy didn't know what to do so I climbed the highest hill I found to take a look around. When at the top I tought I might dump the bucket of water to see if physics (gravity) worked. Immagine my surprize when in a quick few seconds I found myself standing on a block in the middle of an endless sea!!
I bought the damn game anyway!!

    Quote from Felivastus

No I mean I'm trying to count upwards to floor 12.. But I can't do that because when I hit berock and dig straight (not down) there is cobble stone and underneath the is bed rock so that's two layers of bed rock right there. which one is floor 0?

OK, now I'm understanding what you are trying to do. Just hit the f3 key. Look for your x,y,z, coordinates. If y=12 then you are at level 12. You will know this because; A: you will find lots of lava pools as you dig and B: you will easily find some diamonds. Use your f3 key.

Are you sure you are talking about bedrock? Press key f3. Does y=<4? There is no reason to go through bedrock as there is literaly NOTHING UNDERNEATH! Due to it's uneven and random layering, it is impossible to make a viable mine/tunnel through it. Are you sure you can't keep occupied with the 124 levels above it?

Without using mods(!) bedrock is unbreakable in survival mode. There is only 1 type found between levels 0 and 4. It presents in a staggered apearance an if you try hard enough you can find a way around it down into "the void" where you will die.

posted a message on max xp?
    Quote from Ryukuyu

Off Topic (NOT REAL ANSWER): The MAX XP You can have, or lvl, is 8999. Notch has made this so that no one can have the Power of Chuck Norris, which by the way is OVER 9000! The Power of Chuck Norris is SO great that he is WINNING every time he gets in a fight.

If you got all 2 my references you are awesome ...

Back on Topic: Who knows ...

Chuck Norris wins every fight because, under his beard, he has no chin, just a third fist!

posted a message on Easy way to find iron?
Funny, I just answered this question in another post. Iron can be found between levels 1 and 64 (sea level). It can be mined with stone, iron, and diamond picks. fortune enchantment has no effect for iron ore.
It might just be a co-incidence, but I have noticed that I have been finding iron next to coal veins. Caves are usualy best though.
    Quote from McAngusYoung

Dig into the ground. That's the easiest way to get iron and where it's found.

    Ha, he made a rhyme!

Diamonds can be mined with iron or diamond tools. I would recomend using a pick with a fortune enchantment. Ordinarily a diamond block will give 1 diamond. With a higher level fortune enchantment each block could potentialy release up to 3 diamonds!
Iron ore is found between levels 1 and 64 (sea level) and requires pics made from stone, iron, or diamond. Fortune enchantment does not work on iron ore.

posted a message on Zombie Fall Distance 1 hit kill
    Quote from Yuni

Zombies don't have any damn armor. They used to have them in Survival Test, but those didn't really do anything. It was just for show. Zombies do NOT have armor. It does not state anywhere in Minecraft's code that they have armor. And even if they did, then enough damage would still kill them in one hit.

Someone edited the wiki, according to the history. Did a crummy job, too. If zombies really had armour, it wouldn't be under Trivia and formulated in such a way that armor has been referenced before.

ripped from the wiki just now:
    Health Points 20 ( × 10)

    Armor Points 2 ()

    Attack Strength
    Easy: 3 ()
    Normal: 4 ()
    Hard: 6 ()

Spawn: Light level of 7 or less and 1x2 space anywhere but blocks marked as transparent (half blocks, glass, TNT etc).

    First Appearance:
    SURVIVAL TEST 0.24

    Network ID: 54
    Savegame ID:

Zombie Drops Rotten Flesh (0-2) on death.

    Experience: 5

If the wiki is wrong, change it. The OP seems to be satisfied, and I learned something from horaholic and starshadesjack.(thank you) If you must argue, take it up with one of them. I have built the platform and confirmed what they and the wiki said. Out.
