posted a message on More Ores Mod

This is my first ever minecraft mod, so it's not too impressive. Regardless, I thought it was worth sharing. I hope you enjoy :3

Obviously, the main feature added by this mod is several new ores. However, they aren't your typical ores. From left to right, they are:

Ender Pearl Ore (overworld): Drops 1 - 2 ender pearls, requires an iron pickaxe.

Glowstone Ore (overworld): Only drops 1-2 Glowstone dust. It is very bright, and can illuminate caves.

Blooium Ore(overworld): Essentially, drops ground up Lapis dust. It's drop can be crafted into lapis by arranging 9 of it in a crafting grid. It has odd magical properties. can be mined with a wooden pick. This ore can be cooked in a furnace to give 1 lapis.

Potash Ore: Essentially minable fertilizer. Works just like bonemeal. Great for those who want to grow crops, but don't/can't fight skeletons.

Ender Pearl Ore(nether): Drops several overworld Ender Pearl Ore.

Blaze Powder Ore(nether): Relatively rare and intermittent, this ore drops 1-2 blaze powder. Only available in the nether.

Blooium Ore(nether): Drops several overworld Blooium ore.

Ender Pearl Ore(end): Drops a lot of overworld Ender Pearl Ore. It is immune to damage from the Ender Dragon.

    Other Features:

This mod adds several items, tools and even a "plant"!

4 Lapis can be crafted into a square shape to make a Clump of Lapis, which when smelted, gives you a Lazulium ingot, used to make Lazulium tools and swords. They are very enchantable, give lots of potion effects, and are overall very powerful (almost OP, in fact). However, they have very low durability (worse then leather armor and wooden tools). You can also make a clump of blaze powder, which requires 9 blaze powder per clump. It is more expensive, and has less buffs then Lazlium items, but it is more durable then Iron. The sword sets mobs on fire, and the armor gives you fire resistance (and also sets you on fire, which just looks awesome). Also, there is Magium Dust, craft with Glowstone dust, Blooium, Redstone dust. and a Clump of Blaze Powder. When eaten, it gives you confusion for 10 seconds, but also gives you a lot of positive potion effects, some of which last up to a whole minute.

Finally, just a little oddball feature. Blooium dust is very reactive and will grow into magical crystal formations when placed in the ground. It always drops Redstone once fully grown, and will always give 1 or more Blooium dust, making Lapis renewable, and making Redstone much easier to obtain renewably.

Here's the download link. This mod is built for Forge 1.8.9.

Feel free to tell me what you think! Is it balanced? Should I add more uses to Magium Dust, or any of the other items, for that matter? Have any ideas for vanilla related ores I could add? I'm open to suggestions. Just don't suggest adding vanilla ores (like Redstone, Gold, Iron, etc.) to the Nether. Once Nether Ores is updated, it should fill the void just fine (in fact, I sort of made this mod with that one in mind).

posted a message on Introductions & Leavings

Hello! I'm Pacguy64, and I've been playing minecraft off and on since late 2011. I've recently taken a class in java, and I'm nearly ready to release my first (simplistic) mod to the community. I'm not good at PvP (or even fighting mobs, thanks to 1.9 :P) but I still like playing with others. I'm currently very into modded minecraft, and have played several mod packs.

I love animals, cute things, programming, and lots of other games and stuff. I've also "modded" other games, most notably my rom hacks of Sonic 1 and Sonic 2, which can be found here and here, consecutively. Although I've worked with several languages, I'm really loving Java so far, so I hope I'll be minecraft modding for a little while :3.

P.S. Is there a set of global rules for the whole forum? I know there are rules sections in the subforums, but I can't find any that would apply to the whole site. I used to a slightly different style of forums layout, so I'm not sure if this question is dumb or not.
