Are there any servers for Better Together which aren't just mini-games? I'd really like a survival server of some sort, but outside of Realms, there doesn't seem to be any, certainly none featured by Microsoft.
Have we heard any updates on whether Bedrock will be coming to Mac or not? A quick Google search showed up nothing other than very early (September 2017) indications that Mojang were considering it, and requesting feedback. Anybody heard any more recent news on this?
I was just wondering which is the correct forum to be discussing Minecraft Better Together/unified version? I'm currently playing it mostly on Xbox One, and I know that there is an Xbox Edition forum, but that seems like the wrong place, given it's a different version. Should I just post within the regular Minecraft forum, given that's what the Better Together version is now called?
Did you solve this? My Xbox One worlds, which I have successfully transferred to new game, I was hoping to be able to load up on PC and/or mobile but the worlds do not show up in the lists of those other devices. They are playable on the new Minecraft on the Xbox and I can multiplayer with others on the LAN even if they are using the PC. But I cannot START one of those Xbox worlds from the PC.
basically I want to play my Xbox world, shut it down, jump in the car, and continue playing on the road. The world seems to be stuck on the Xbox though. I thought all worlds were supposed to sync across all devices?
From what I'm hearing from others, worlds do not sync from PE to the new Minecraft on Xbox One. Only old worlds from Xbox One (and possibly 360) sync. Can anyone confirm this? It seems like a real missed opportunity.
I’ve been playing the Bettet Together beta on Xbox One for a while and noticed that my PE worlds don’t show up when syncing worlds. I thought this might just be a limitation of the beta, but the Better Together update is now officially out on Xbox One and the issue remains. Am I wrong in thinking that my world’s would sync across all Bedrock based versions? Also, is there a thread or forum here for discussion of Better Together things?
CRT? This isnt the 80's mate. You cant buy them anymore. The closest thing is a Plasma television but they are horrible for gaming. Their stunning as sitting room televisions.
You're wrong.
As an arcade collector I can tell you that CRTs certainly are available, however the choice is certainly more limited than it used to be.
With CRTs It's important that you get the refresh rate correct. Most arcade monitors run at between 15Khz - 31Khz. There are options here to make sure windows is outputting at 15Khz, both hardware and software solutions. The hardware solutions however would be far better. If you're intereting exploring the arcade monitor route further, send me a private message and I'll give you as much info as I can.
CRT's have better contrast and blacks, Higher refresh rates, better color reproduction, better viewing angles, more contrast, and no native resolution. The last one I think is the most important, since that means any resolution supported by the monitor is not going to need to scale to the native resolution. a 1024x768 CRT Monitor doesn't look bad if you switch to a 320x240 mode, for example.
Even so, IPS and TN panels have their own advantages. Aside from a much smaller and lighter form factor, they also use less electricity, cause less eyestrain, aren't as susceptible to glare, a sharper image(at native res) even over a CRT with a fine dot pitch, and doesn't have convergence issues.
I don't think any of these reasons for a CRT apply to the OP though.
How about a replacement for the old FriendCraft app? It's been dead for a while, and I can't find it on the app store anymore. It was pretty useful though. You could add users by username, and it would notify you when they logged on. It would also monitor server status for you.
You probably don't want to disable everything on your own firewall. This opens up your network to threats. What I usually do is disable everything on my ISPs firewall, but keep everything other than the needed ports closed on mine.
Is this using the service suggested by Gavinski37 or the server you're running? I don't know of any guides, although I'm sure there are some, but I'd be happy to answer questions. It might be worth installing a front end to help manage things a bit more easily for you.
Going back to the original issue, if you're still interested. Make sure that your ISP isn't blocking the needed port. Just because you're allowing it through your firewall doesn't mean they're allowing it through theirs. If they are blocking it, you can usually open through your ISP control panel. If not, you can usually turn it off altogether.

Thanks, much appreciated.

Agreed. The "no native resolution" is fantastic.
