Quote from CommanderDrenn
There's a massive difference between people selling access to diamonds and servers selling kits. If everyone had every kit, it would be a disaster.
It all seems immaterial to me, as if you don't like a server, don't play on it. Why does Mojang need to interfere at all?
The whole: "If you dont like it dont play on it" thing is false, there are only the few big servers. If you dont like them (Like hate their staff, management or p2w'ness) you have no other choice since they are the ONLY ones with the gamemodes and content you like.

If you're not well versed in working with developers I offer plugin/developer auditing services. I help prevent cases where developers scam servers or put backdoors/malicious code in plugins:

Good and not paid are usually two opposing words when describing a dev

budget?

And that why you need 8 people. 8 people who are learning how to program as they go...
Not that that's bad, they are learning the ropes, once they are good enuf they will want pay too

Are developers paid?

So... One question... do you have money? cuz its hard to make a large project with a huge build time before release (aka when u get money from players)
with a limited budget

Why are you guys looking for so many developers o.o usually medium-large servers only have like 2-4
also, developers are not paid I presume?

yes except you have to remember every server running plugin will be calculating player afkness on their own and only sending periodic reports to the central server. The central server only has to send adverts as well as recieve player data. I do not believe the afk checker will be all that cpu consuming, quite the contrary in fact, if we checked every 5 mins and there have been no new events sent by the player then its safe to say they are afk. merely saving data from events and not calculating anything shouldnt require all that much cpu usage.
