Hi, where can I find the .BO2 files specifications? I could not find it on the Phoenix terrain mod site...

    Thanks

I have it, but it needs updating, I'll updated it and upload it later today. What do you need the specs for?

Question for anyone who knows about pistons

When extended does it become 2 blocks? (I'm pretty sure this is the case, just to verify)

If so, this should be the info for BBOB, I'd like to point out, that to place an extended piston, you will have to place both blocks separately for now, For the next upcoming patch that is.

    Current Info
    Regular Piston BlockID: 33
    Sticky Piston BlockID: 29
Piston Extension BlockID: 34? (I think)

    Data Values
0 - 5 for both Piston and Extension
    0: Down
    1: Up
    2: East
    3: West
    4: North
    5: South

    Pistons: +8 if extended
    Extension: +8 if sticky

sorry for disappearing there, I apparently sussed my developing computer a bit trying to get mono and wine playing together. winetricks would have made it much easier... anywho I'll try to help you out with that, can't say I've compiled much on linux, just started using it a year or so ago. as soon as I sort out my machine I'll register for the source, hopefully it won't be a clean start (again) to get it all together.

Just send me a private message with your bitbucket use name, and I'll share the source with you. You will need mecurial btw, anyway, once compiled with mono, I would like to put the executable up on the website, so everyone can get access to it.

    New BBOB Version 0.4.2

    http://faskerstudio.com/minecraft/BBOB

    New Features:

    • Will now check for updates on start up and complain if you don't have the newest version.
    • Rarity maximum has been increased to 1000. Each 100 represents a guaranteed spawn (example: 310, will be 3 guaranteed spawn attempts, and 10% of another attempt)
    • Added Requires Foundation ('needsFoundation') to the Properties menu. If this is unchecked, you may find floating objects.

    Bug Fix:

    • Saving the Old BOB format previously caused an error, this is fixed. However if you select more than 1 spawn on block, only the first one in the list is used. It will NOT warn you that it is doing this!

No problems on your website here.

How's the update coming? Is it adding anything new or just bugfixing?

I've been busy teaching c#, but finally today I have a bit of free time. There will be no significant features this patch, just to add the bits about foundation, bug fixes, changing maximum rarity, and auto detecting updates for the future. I should be able to get this all done in the next 2 hours I hope.

Also, if I get enough time, I'm going to experiment with a better more efficient draw algorithm for 0.4.3, I looked at 3D which would be cool, but that will take a lot to re implement everything that's already been done, so for now, I'm going to ignore it. Maybe when I don't have so much other stuff piling up I'll look into it.

I'm working on a custom curve formula that will be much better. Not quite exponential but allow for rarity and spam all you want. :smile.gif:

What if we allow rarity to exceed 100, say up to 1000, that way it would try to spawn up to 10 objects per block

    Example

325 rarity would be 2 guaranteed objects and 25% chance of a third. Seems more.... understandable

    Nope, still doesn't work.

I'm smack in the middle of the US here. I actually tried from my folk's house(different ISP and everything) earlier today and still could not connect. Whatever this is, there has to be a good reason.

strange, I learn from ping that the IP to my domain is http://66.96.133.15 but when visiting that site, it is nothing. How strange.

I will contact support for my domain host, and see if they can identify the problem.

    edit:
I may have found a small problem, changed a DNS A record on my domain manager that might have been in conflict with my host's Nameservs, anyway if that were the problem it would take up to 48 hours to propagate...

Also if you are using Chrome, it keeps a local DNS cache that may need to be cleared. I don't know how firefox/IE works.

    edit again:

This is the response from my host:

If the issue persist, please get back to us with the following information:
    1) The exact error message you get when accessing your website.
    2) Exact time you are facing website slowness issue.
    3) The geographical location from where the website is inaccessible and the ISP you are using.
    4) Browser version which you are using.
    5) Do a tracert for your domain name/website and get back to us with the results. To do this, please follow the steps given below:
    a) Open up the command prompt. The way to do this is, go to the 'Start' menu, 'Run', then type 'cmd' or 'command'. This will open up a DOS window.
    B) In the window, type the following: tracert domain.com

Can you follow these steps and get back to me? Thanks!

wb ohmusama, hope your time away was good. I've been trying to get this to run under wine in Linux but haven't had any luck, will there be any attempt to port this to either Linux or Mac?

So the source is actually on bitbucket, if you make an account there, I'll add you so that you can download the source and compile it with mono. Private message me with your account name. I would be happy if you would do some mono checking for me. If so, I will add you to the credits as my cross-platform QA Dev.

As for publicness of the source, its currently without licence, thus I remain the owner of it under the copyright of faskerstudio, but it is very commented lightly, so I make no grantees you can understand it if you get your hands on it.

I'm back from vacation. I'll work on adding some new features tonight (ie foundations), as well as getting BBOB to automatically check for updates on startup, which should help people stay up to date.

    Anything else I missed?

by any chance this mod will be compatible with the better ore distribution mod when it is updated to 1.66??

Highly unlikely, I think the focus of this update is BO2 Support.
