If the town name is still up for grabs I would suggest "Berth" being that this is where this journey is starting. This thread alone has sparked the need to get back into Minecraft as I've been whatever the MC equivalent of writer's block is... I thank you Zanzi for that.

Reason for Wanting to Join: Trying to find a good community to play MC with. Also looking into what RPing is all about.

Additional Comment: Because I live in Japan, I probably won't be on during the normal hours that Stateside people are on. Could be beneficial or not so much.

Yeah Leaf gen is back. I really enjoy it too! Also, I think that the difficulty settings actually correspond to which difficulty you're on. My 2nd world "on hard" I didn't survive my first night due to a massive spawn of skeles and creepers. I really enjoy that too... sort of haha. I don't understand why most people are complaining about lag. The only lag I have gotten so far is from chunk generation and that's been there from the start (when you're playing in a sandbox world where it can generate up to 8x the surface of the earth these things happen).
All and all, I think the beta is heading in a great direction!

I am both new to Minecraft and RolePlaying type games, but I really want to get into something like this because single player i starting to get boring without someone to talk to or clear objectives to act out (while i do like the fact that i could do whatever I wanted to)
Anyways, I'll most likely need a lot of help in order to transition into a great RP role and society. I believe in playing games without being given anything (using cheats, accepting things[other than absolutely nessecary], and hack and the like...
I'd love to join this server but bear with me and my intro because I'm new to RP and I don't know if I'm that great at it.
Intro:
"It was the worst storm that we had seen that fall, perhaps our entire lives. My men were looking towards me for guidance, they looked to a leader who barely knew how to take care of himself. It wasn't long ago that our captain, my captain, had been slain by the beasts that were lurking in the darkness.
Little was known about their origin, and much less known as to why they were so Hell bent on destroying everything we believed to be good and right in this world. Going into a small sea cavern seemed like a great idea at the time. All of our eyes set on the conquest and discovery of gold or perhaps even diamond. When they came, they came fast, blew holes in our ship, shot down our sails and many of my men with arrows engulfed in flames like the fiery pit in which they came from. Undead was the name... That cursed word that to this day sends a chill down my spine and through out my entire being to the core. If it hadn't been for the Captains selfless action of distracting them with a small convoy boat filled with TNT I don't know if I would have made it out of that place...
We did our best to sail away, ravaged and torn by such a horrific event the men were uneasy... Three days past since that night, three days of arguement and senseless fighting about who should take the Captain's place. In the end, all the men made a choice, and that choice was me. All of them agreed, all but one.
Shortly after I had made the decision to head home, The families of the men had a right to know what happend. And I had the unfortunate task of informing them.
But something went terribly wrong, The men began to get sick, like dogs. Rabid with aggression and violent outbreaks occured. It would seem that the man that disapproved of my appointment into leadership had poored some of the "undead's" essence into the barrels of grain and it had turned the men... The only reason that I am safe is because the Captain's storage was kept private.
I took what little supplies I could and I set the ship of fire, and then I jumped..."
I've been on this server for about a day now and I must say that Lin is implementing some pretty great stuff. I highly suggest people try this out and get a good feel for multiplayer with a great group of people to play with!
Cool cool, I'll go home tonight and see if a couple of my buddies wanna jump on multiplayer as well. What are your plans for the server? Is it like a Role-playing type thing or just people to talk to while you mine out your own little slice of heaven?
EDIT: You know what? I just read the first post again and saw you have a website... haha. I'll just head there and look more into this server.
Just browsing the forums (been playing single player for about a week now) and was looking for a good multiplayer server because I think it would add a lot more to the amazing experience I'm having from MC so far. Anyways, dropped into this post and saw that the server is in japan which is great as I live here. Anyways, just wanted to give you guys a heads up that I'll most likely jump in for a bit tonight and see how multiplayer works.
