    posted a message on SOMEONE who has a mod with food that is cooked PLEASE help!
    Hi, im working on my first mod....

    Im using the AddSmelting command for forge to add a new smelt recipe for some foods i wish to cook.

    i've added in ITEM smelting recipes and they work fine, but as soon as its an ITEMFOOD the "addSmelting" dosent seem to work. you place the raw item to be cooked into a furnace, and fuel, and it just dosent smelt.

    has anyone got any ideas? or knows how to fix this? would be muchly appreciated.

    heres my code for ref:

    GameRegistry.addSmelting(tutorialPieRawID, new ItemStack(tutorialPieCooked, 1), 1.0F);
    PieRaw and PieCooked are declared as items, because if i try as ItemFood i get an error saying "can not convert ItemFood to Item". ID's are static and hard coded atm,

    this is declaring the cooked pie var:
    tutorialPieCooked = new ItemTutorialCookedPie(tutorialPieCookedID, 8, 2.0F, false).setItemName("Cooked Beef Pie").setIconIndex(252);

    I've also tried several variations of trying to address "FurnaceRecipes" class directly to no avail.

    i would be eternally grateful if someone knows how to correct this...

    Also - spelling is %150 corrrect i've been over it with a fine tooth comb and eclipse has no errors at all.

    thanks in advance

    NTKOO

    if you need me to post other info please just ask!
    Thanks!

    The things that makes engines explode is not when they can't handle the work (because in this case the engine will not work) is when they are too powerful or useless. For example an engine that powers a pump will work normally, but if the pump finish sucking all the water but the engine will still work it will explode Because the energy that it makes will not be bring to the pump, so it's stored into the engine and it will explode...

    The heat sistem works only for combustion engine and it can be full of water but if it works without anything that needs energy it will explode for too much energy producted...

    Understand?

    i get that you shouldnt put an unnecessary engine on somthing, like a combustion on a pump, but even spreading the load by using conductive pipes, it dosent work because the first device to connect to the power grid seems to get %99 of the power, and the engine still over heats.... hmmm... ill play around more

    thanks for your help :smile.gif:

    so, ive been getting into buildcraft, and me like this alot.

    one of the things im not getting is the "engine temperature" thing.

    this mainly applies to the combustion engine, you can have it power a pump, to fill it with water constantly, but it still overheats and explodes? now im aware that in 2.x.x it had a glitch where if there was an empty bucket in the engine it would not cool, but i've just tested it with the new 2.2.1 and it still explodes after a while. the water/coolant does not seem to do anything... am i missing something?

    some of the old documentation i found for buildcraft said that the colour is not engine tempreature but a representation of its "stored energy", which needs time to dissipated. im not sure..

    cheers

    TLDR: (combustion) engines blow up even when filled with coolant, why?

    hi all,
    trolling through the minecraft wiki im lead to believe that obviously the standard growing height of a cactus is 3 blocks, and rarely you will find a 4 block cactus NATURALLY generated by the world seed.

    has anyone ever found or seen a 5 block cactus? (generated by the seed of course and NOT by placing cacti blocks on an existing one)
