    Quote from KitkatEmm»

I'll look up Mumbo Jumbo thanks for the advice.

Oh also on a side note! Just out of curiosity, is there a mod that prevents farmland trample? The nature of my house makes it so that my character jumps a bit while on the farm under the house. I know "why don't you just make the farm flat" well because i want it to look nice too. I have the stairs set up but sometimes it doesn't quite do it and i end up damaging my farm regardless :/

Random Things has an item called "Fertilized Dirt." It is dirt that automatically applies Bone Meal to your plants and they grow faster. They don't need to be near water, AND anything planted on it does not ever get trampled. It's a great item. From what I saw on Curse Forum, it is available for 1.12, so it would be your best bet.

What are your computer specs? What operating system are you using? What version of Java do you have installed? How much RAM do you have? With no crash report and no complete specs, it would be very hard if not impossible to diagnose the issue.

Try deleting the options.txt file in the Minecraft folder and see what happens. People who have had errors similar to yours have done that in the past with success.

Try bring the Render distance down to 8 or 10. Then also make sure you have the memory allocated to load it. You usually want 4 GB. High Render distances require more RAM.

Make sure the graphics card in your computer has updated drivers. And do not rely on Microsoft's driver update. There have been issues with OpenGL not be properly functional when using the generic drivers. If you know what graphics card you have, get the driver updates from their website (NVidia, AMD, etc).

posted a message on Need HELP at understanding how world-gen works.

That one will be tricky to do because during World Gen, the game checks whether tree generation can happen. There must be certain conditions that are true for this to happen. One of those being whether the block to spawn the tree on can see sky. If it can not see sky, then no tree will grow.

posted a message on minecraft is crashing immediately when launched

Do you have a log file that says any kind of error message? I would suggest trying a different launcher like MultiMC. It makes installing mods extremely easy, plus gives you a console with an error report. An error report or a log would better help figure out what is going on. Other than that, all I can suggest is to have the recommended version of Forge (the latest version isn't always the recommended version). Changes could have happened to forge since the recommended version that mods aren't updated to work with. With the default launcher, you have to modify the minecraft.jar file directly to install Forge (including deleting the meta_inf file). I prefer not having to do all of that. MultiMC does that stuff for you, so installing mods is as easy as putting the mod files into the mods folder and that's it. :)

posted a message on The game crashed whilst initializing game Error: org.lwjgl.LWJGLException: Pixel format not accelerated

    1) You have a 64 bit operating system. The Java installer will by default have you download the 32 bit version, especially if you are using a 32 bit browser. Download the 64 bit version here. Being that you are using a 64 bit operating system, that means that you'll not be able to use your RAM or your processor to its fullest potential.

    2) Try going to the NVidia website with the 64 bit version of Java installed and see if it works. You'll need the actual drivers from NVidia because they will actually contain the drivers to access OpenGL (which Minecraft needs to have to run). Microsoft's Generic Drivers will NOT be fully compatible with all of the features of your graphics card and cause problems (and OpenGL is one of those areas that people have had issues with using them).

    3) If you are using the default Minecraft launcher, it is advised to not use it. It is ok for launching the game, but isn't as good as some of the 3rd party ones out there (especially if you plan on having multiple instances). Try MultiMC. With that, you can actually test your version of Java and make sure it is in good working order for launching Minecraft. I don't know if you plan on modding your Minecraft experience down the road, but if you are, then you will definitely benefit from having a different launcher.

    See if these suggestions help.

posted a message on Sky mob spawner trouble.

Oh, I had assumed you were going for the XP grinder. Otherwise, I'd say not to build it so high (mobs will die and no experience will be dropped cause you didn't actually hit the mob). I'd try some suggestions....

    1) Since you are building the structure in creative mode, can you use mob spawners instead? Have water running towards the hole at all times, and a small platform with the mob spawners (or multiple platforms and a spawner of each type on each platform) above the water. This would create the height of each layer, however (as you would need two high, a platform, a spawner, and two high above that). After so many mobs are created, they'll drop off the platform and be drawn with the water towards the hole to fall to their death. The only issue would be that you would need to ensure again that any underground caves are lit up and your render distance is high enough to keep the spawners loaded and running. I had made a leather farm on this principle, but the spawners wouldn't work without grass blocks adjacent to them.

    2) You stated you are playing on the Better Together version. You posted in an area for Minecraft: Java Edition. Better Together isn't the Java Edition of the game. With that, I don't know how different the rules are for those versions. You may have to tinker around with settings, because I'm sure there are differences with that version that do not apply to the Java Edition (including mob spawning behavior). I do know there are differences with redstone behavior (if using) that need to be paid attention to. I might post this question in the groups related to this version of Minecraft and they might have better answers for you.

    Quote from Prowl84»

Hi, I'm looking for some help with a sky mob spawner I created. It is spawning 0 mobs.I don't have screenshots but it's identical to this one

I built It at about y=130. 0 light, the areas are enclosed. I did build it while in peaceful and then switches to normal. Tried logging out and in. It's a single player game. I tried a smaller scale enclosed room in creative mode at y=30 for a short period and had 0 mobs spawn as well. I lit up a huge chunk of area on ground level. Didn't check for caves, but regardless I'm getting 0 spawns, and a cave system wouldn't stop spawns completely.

Lastly, I am playing on the better together version of the game if that makes a difference.

Did you actually use the redstone and dispensers like he did? Or did you just place water in the corners? Mobs will not spawn at all in water. If you did hook up the redstone, check to make sure that the water is not running when the lever is toggled off. I had made a farm of my own a year back or so and that was the observation I had made.

I've always been in favor of a chunk loading block but I think the painful past of everyone whining about how laggy Millenaire is because their computers were far too weak to be able ro run anything decently might be making Kinn be against anything which could add to the lag...

But perhaps a denier-made item, like a crafting recipe of nine gold deniers makes one golden chunkloader?
It would be nice if it was village specific too, like if you place it in a village it will specifically keep everything inside that village active and all of the village's activity too

I actually did something like that. I downloaded a chunkloader from Code Chicken and actually made a crafting recipe for it with Minetweaker. And then when we discovered a village we wanted to keep coming back to we would craft it and place it somewhere near the village. It worked great.

Do you think they will ever fix this issue?

Considering that it has moved on to 1.12, very unlikely. Hopefully it is fixed in 1.12. :) According to a previous post, the loop has been fixed, but I don't know if that means that a better solution to dealing with chunk unloading has been done or not.
