posted a message on Destroy the Godmodder S: Acolyte! [DTG SPINOFF]

    /!\ NUMEROUS ANNOUNCEMENTS! /!\

The story post should come out tomorrow. I've finished up my art for the scene and you guys will get to catch up on the Persecles Subplot (which should hopefully entwine with the main plot soon)! A gameplay post should follow soon after, but I'm unsure how soon after.

Prepare for the BONUS BOSS, players! This boss will drop a very flashy Spoil of War, but special rules will apply to the fight, and it should be more difficult than a mundane (by comparison) BOSS BATTLE. Be prepared!

Big item changes will be coming up at the end of the Act due to unforseen consequences.. Please note that all of your items (save for the Spoils of War) will be deleted at the end of the first Act, so use any consumables you have as soon as possible! You'll likely need to, anyways.

Speaking of balance changes, due to the politics of the Summit, I have decided that high-level entities have become too spammed-out and have received some balance changes, alongside charges. These changes will be logged in the OP as soon as possible. Existing charges will not be modified.

    • The maximum number of charges open has been decreased from 3 to 2.
    • Therefore, +Assists have gone down from a +3 to a +2, and still apply to the assisted's charges.
    • Entities have received a flat +10 HP buff to increase the efficiency of smaller entities. Base Damage and Speed Values remain unchanged.
    • All players now have a Charge Overload Meter. This will go up as you charge anything, increasing with the intensity of the charge. Upon reaching the maximum of the Charge Overload Meter, no more of your charges can go through until it is empty. However, this will go down quickly as long as you do not have any charges open. Completing existing charges will increase this meter.
    • The ability to charge meta-charges (charges that involve more than one charge to complete, such as Anti-Acolyte Bosses) alone has been removed, thus, Anti-Acolyte Bosses will require coordination between one or more players to complete, similarly to the system in 0rigins. This affects existing meta-charges. Meta-charges also take up a charge out of the 2 available.

The Shield Module §¶ from the Shielder Drone will be distributed as a Spoil of War to Nyarlthotep at the end of the next gameplay section! I can release my algorithm for determining the Spoil of War if you wish to see how Nyarly got the Spoil, even though they're a surrogate player.

Well, that's that. Catch up with you guys tomorrow.

After some complication, the rest of the update is here.

    Quote from nulitor»

I keep building a reinforced acolyte's herald symbol(Makes the acolyte regain dark magic when I take
    damage)19/?

I keep building a completely awesome chaingun(1 base damage but can
target multiple people and shoot salvos of up to 18 shots spread in any
    wanted way between the targets)12/?

Then I help once battlefury and once old sith revan.

After all that I strike auyeungyat/sunnyau with the bazooka that I did just fitted with a glass sword that shatters onto auyeungyat/sunnyau.

I complement that attack with the accumulator annihilator(normally adding 6 damage).

Since he is cursed to have a locked inventory he probably can not drop anything.

You aim your Accumulator Annihilator at sunnyau...
    Quote from Blinky1001»

As nulitor strikes, he expects to see sunnyau crumple to the floor, dead as a doornail. However, I block the annihilator with my body by heroically throwing myself in the way!

    Hat of the Hierophants:3/10

    Cape of the Hierophants:3/15
    Staff of the Hierophants:3/20

Wow, what a sacrifice, especially considering your frugal use of items!

You take 8 damage from Nullitor's attack! Your Ω Party Hat is destroyed!

1 HP Healed due to your Cloak.
    Quote from pionoplayer»

2/5 for usage. ((I... forgot what I was gonna do with this one...)) Gonna change it to 2/25 for elementalist's will
2/10 for elementalist's gift ((And this one...)) And change this to 2/25 for elementalist's summoning
2/25 for the elemental blade. ((But not this one. Eheheheh.))

Question, do +1s exist in this session?

Anyways, the Newcomer still isn't quite certain what to do, but he sees nulitor attack Blinky, and decides he might as well go for him, and jumps forwards, nulitor turning just in time to see someone completely new that wasn't here a moment ago slash him across the face with a giant scimitar.

    +2 to blinky

Yes, +Assisting exists in this game.

Feel free to check the Itinerary to check out what the current objective is.

You will deal 4 damage to Nullitor...
    Quote from nulitor»

You gain an advantage in this fight and counter piono's swing!
    Quote from pionoplayer»

    3/25 for elementalist's will

    3/25 for elementalist's summon.

    3/25 for elemental blade

    +2 to consumer

The newcomer blocks the magical phaseblades nulitor swings at him... what, what? With a regular sword? Those phaseblades should go right through it. Clearly there is something special about the sword. But indeed, being actually human grants greater maneuverability, and thus an edge in melee fights.

The newcomer seems to have the upper-hand even against the Halberd (hint: halberds don't work well on people on foot. They're very unwieldy weapons and the exact opposite of what you want to be using if hitting the other guy isn't happening)

((above two were just going in-line with the roleplaying of nulitor's post))

Nulitor then pulls out a table, attempting to get the upper hand on the newcomer.

The newcomer just does an upper-cut, slicing the table in half, sending nultiro tumbling to the ground.

    Counter successfully countered!

You've got a good point (no pun intended), since Halberds were used historically to dismount cavalry.

Your strike hits nullitor, but it only deals 2 damage due to the table being in the way! On the other side, Nullitor is Stumbled (40% chance for attacks to miss) for the next turn. Your attack hits his Wither Armor, resulting in your taking the Withering effect!

    [RP AND ATTACKS]
Wait, I had F3 off, all that time. Turning it back on, it appears that I'm actually further away from my destination. I use the Tank Artillery Tube on the Guardians and the recoil causes me to launch back upwards, which I use to land on a boat that I try to kick to the side. The key word is try, as you can't multi-action which means that I'll get lasered by the Guardians. Or not, maybe.

    Research: Dark Magic:
After coming up with many text files, notes and other theories based on the feel of the Acolyte's magic that one time I grabbed it, I have come up with the Dark Magic Amulet, designed to emulate the Acolyte's magic. Having this will be fun.

Research: Dark Magic 25/25 COMPLETE (+1 from Revan, +2 from Piono) =========================
    Greater Fairy 20/25 =========================
    +1 to piono and Revan.

    [BREAKDOWN AND OOC]
Dark Magic Amulet: 100%: The Dark Magic Amulet is based on the Acolyte's Dark Magic Meter and although it is as not as versatile or powerful as the Acolyte's magic, can be used for similar but much weaker things. Recharges at the rate of 1% every two turns.

    [INVENTORY]
Large Iron Shield, 4 Normal Health Potions, Omega Party Hat, Orbiting Chain Mana Wand, Gold-Capped Greatwood Wand

Dark Magic Amulet added! However, its costs compared to the Acolyte are doubled. The regeneration rate seems okay, though.

The tank shell hits one of the Guardians, dealing 12 damage to one of them and 4 to its ally! The recoil combined with the tank shell's explosion was just enough so that the Guardians lose tracking of you and have to restart their attacks! However, you will be hit next turn if you don't break their line of sight.

    ====[End-of-Turn Events]====

The Jedi Initiate deals 6 damage to battlefury13!

The Acolyte uses another 2% of his Dark Magic Meter to deal 7 damage to the Jedi and extend sunnyau's Curse of Item Embargo!

Oh yeah, and Blinky1001's Amulet rolls a 1! This summons a Wind Elemental to his aid and resets the cooldown on his Elemental Amulet!

posted a message on Destroy the Godmodder S: Acolyte! [DTG SPINOFF]

Alright, here it is! This is the story post you guys have been hyping about, and so have I! I've got 9 pictures in this update, which is a trend I hope to continue. Well, enough beating around the bush!

    ====Story Post Inbound====

Blinky1001's anvil careens into the Mook Tank's armor and hits a critical spot! The Tank appears to smoke, and the Mook commander inside the tank was fortunate enough to escape through the hatch, although he doesn't make it very far before the Gaster Shard wakes up from its stasis and cripples the hapless Mook! The Gaster Shard is unable to cause much havoc due to the ending battle, so the Gaster Shard aims for the most massive target: the Mook Tank! He stands on top of it and is prepared to strike down with Bullet Hell...

The Mook Tank explodes with a powerful KOOM! This shakes the immediate surrounding area and destabilizes everyone, knocking them off their feet! The crew of Mooks is blown to smithereens by the sheer force of the blast! The Backup Portal is disrupted so much that it collapses, thus cutting off the Mooks from their cavalry back home! However, he who suffers the most is the Gaster Shard, taking the full force of the explosion due to its proximity to the Tank! A blast of energy sounds off and the Gaster Shard launches forth into the sky. It would seem satisfying for the Gaster Shard to meet its end in an anime-esque twinkle in the sky...

I BELIEVE I CAN FLY! I BELIEVE I CAN TOUCH THE SKY!

However, the Gaster Shard's brimming energy causes it to explode en-route to its path to the twinkle in the sky! Such an explosion seems to rip the sky apart due to its energy. In the wake of the release of power lies a hole in the sky above, leading to a place beyond the stars and perhaps into space. The hole begins to shrink in size...

However, as the hole closes and the above dimension returns to its dormancy, some shadowy figures emerge from the stars above. They are enigmatic and mysterious, partly due to them being so far away! You manage to gain little info on these creatures before they float away into the distance...

And just like that, these creatures empty the sky and the hole closes nearly as suddenly as it had opened.

Losing and demoralized, and with the Backup Portal since dispelled, the surviving Mooks surrender to the Player Fort and its forces. Being weak on their own and with no super-strong backup, they would never have survived if they chose to fight anyways. They are taken as prisoners of war and their weapons are confiscated. As such, this is the first time the players in the Player Fort have gotten their hands on guns, due to the limitations of the fort and general inability to craft effective firearms from scratch. Such are sub-par and low damage, being Mook-grade, but these automatics (and one rocket launcher) will have to do. One of the players housed within the fortress examines the assault rifle issued to his prisoner closely.

However, you guys can't stick around and celebrate your victory; you have some Acolyte-pursuing to do! You guys are quickly use this moment to trod off towards the forest and pick each and every one of us sugar plums in search of your opponent! In the mean time, ConsumerOfAll (who i sadly couldn't depict, as his skin is identical to that of the last game's antagonist) examines the wreckage of the previous boss and claims the Tank Artillery Tube §¶ as a Spoil of War. However, on the way to the forest, the TNT Cannon, due to flying technology in Minecraft being shoddy at best, flutters about perilously in the sky! It unceremoniously crashes into the earth.

"We're off to see the wizard, so we can go kick his butt..."

    </Episode 2>

    <Episode 3>

In the mean time, in a site under the ocean several kilometers away...

It was a good idea to go to the temple today. Such a respite is necessary every once in a while for such a battler. One's mind cannot consist all of battle plans and the cries of your soldiers hungering for war. While I am grateful for this wealthy empire to provide such fruitful gifts, it feels good to pray every once in a while.

I should really introduce myself to these observers.

I am Major Persecles of the Cerulean Empire. In days long past, the Argynth people fought over swathes of territory in the vast ocean, forming their own kingdoms to do so which rose and fell. This continues to this day as a stage of conquest is about, with advancing armies both claiming new lands and clashing with each other. I hail from the Cerulean Empire, an empire that is young and hungry for territory. I, as Major, have led some successful battles and thus gained a lot of lands for my home. For these, I was awarded the title of Prince of a small city for my victories. More information should come with time.

Wait, I'm betting some human observers are wondering what I'm doing carrying a FREAKING TRIDENT to a holy site. In my culture, three is a holy number and represents communion with the divine. Thus, many Argynths carry a three-pronged spear to prayer.

As of now, I feel that my resolve has been hardened and I turn back to the town I rule, yet something appears on the horizon that doesn't seem... natural.

Odd. Within the distance I see three levitating monsters headed inland. I wonder if this calls to something... Nevertheless, I should rally my troops to investigate. I am a Major, after all. I begin to turn back from the temple to spread news of my discovery.

In the mean time, in a nearby forest close to the plain...

The Acolyte rests up and sits on a nearby log, happy for his respite against the growing playerbase. He produces the same laptop that was an Episode ago, and proceeds to open up chat with crucifixionTerminated [CT] once more.

    Show Pesterlog

== godlyAdept [GA] began pestering crucifixionTerminated [CT] at ██:██:██ ==

    GA: You.

    CT: what's wrong?

GA: Want to know what your backup did?

GA: It pretty much slowed the playerbase down.

    CT: oh, wow!

CT: i feel far from good.

GA: You should. Their bulwark was absolutely impenetrable even by a Mook Tank and a Backup Portal working together!

    CT: i've got a plan.

    GA: This one better work.

CT: how about we send out a front that's so strong and so quick that they can't prepare for it?

GA: Sounds good, but unlikely, knowing these players.

CT: well, your next line of backup seems pretty big and should arrive sooner than the last rounds.

GA: Great. It better wipe out their whole line of defense and then some!

== godlyAdept [GA] caesed pestering crucifixionTerminated [CT] at ██:██:██ ==

The Acolyte barely has time to put his laptop away before you guys find him. He props up from his log seat and prepares for battle! He's got a full Dark Magic Meter and a Spirograph full of Spirals, so stay on your guard! I'll answer some of your nullposts next post.

Battlefield Data will be updated when the next non-Story Post gets up!

I find your lack of update disturbing... Then again, you have to go through with college and this at the same time. It's like trying to headshot two Scouts at the same time with the Machina! I don't blame you for the lack of updates. I don't have much to go through. My conditions's like trying to collateral a Soldier and a Pyro that's shooting Detonator flares at you, who are both strafing, but the Soldier doesn't notice you.
