Did you ever find your friends from the old server?? Sounds like the potential for a great story. :D

I don't know much about mods other than what I've seen in some Youtubers Minecraft videos, but isn't a mod required for multiplayer sleep? If so, that would definitely be one to look at. :)

The corpse mod is interesting. I usually do this thing in my single player worlds where when I die, I build a monument to that death, in the place where the death took place if I can, or if not then I memorialize a bridge or archway or something to the death. Usually there's a sign posting something like "This bridge commemorates the third time NinjaJ03 emolated himself with a bucket of lava" or some such.

IMO Minecraft is generally an easy game to do everyday stuff (not necessarily boss fights mind), so by my reckoning the best mods don't make the game easier, but add spice or options. To me the work you have to do to accomplish something is the reward and shortcuts cheapen the value of the accomplishment. I think a good example is the mod that the Hermitcraft guys use that makes all the mobs have a chance to drop a head. Its' fun without making the game easier.

I'll keep checking back on this thread. Good luck getting your server up soon!

Hi! What sort of mods are you thinking of? I'm looking to join a "mostly" vanilla survival server with older players. I do some streaming on twitch, so can you comment if that's a problem?

And thanks for offering servers for people to play on. You rock.
