Well, Mojang is talking about something called the EULA, or the End User Lisence Agreement. This will basically makes that you cannot earn money from mine craft, which, if you don't know, is pretty harmful to servers. It will affect the whole mine craft community, in fact, from artwork to videos. I am sorry I don't know too much about this, but their is a petition about stopping the EULA: https://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/mojang-change-the-eula
I just added pictures of the tower that the phoenix would spawn in :). The picture of the actual phoenix will take a lot more time but it is in the making.
You said that clay being struck by lightning would get one of these golems. If I were to make a super flat world with clay replacing dirt and make an option to make a thunder storm happen then...
It could be a good idea, but I think you should elaborate a bit on the villagers. What color will be their robes? Just like a blacksmith has his blacksmithing place, would a florist have his own garden? Why do you think this should be added into the game? The florist and escavator seem similar and have the same trades, so why don't you merge them into just one villager?
I don't think you understood my point. Yes, egg hatching is redundant, but what else could one possibly suggest for an egg? What else is there? Eating a scrambled dragon egg? Selling it to a Ender Denny's for their breakfast special?
Mojang having an "ultimate plan" for it doesn't somehow disprove or counteract what I'm talking about.
For now, just think of it as a trophy. Or just try to break it around the end as a little game. It will have a purpose, but for know, it is a sign of power, in my opinion. But yet everyone's opinion is different.
Oh, how on topic. I feel like many of your points have flaws too. You say that emeralds are rare to find, but in villages they're extremely easy to get, for example.
Yeah, I have noticed that too... Sapplings will grow normally into big oaks sometimes as normal, but I can't find them in forests anymore.
If it's a bug, they should fix it. Big oaks are great part of the forest
I see them still in rain forests. I don't know about regular forests though.
NO!
I don't think notch is gonna make a whole new structure JUST FOR ONE MOB
Few things:
1. Notch doesn't work on Minecraft anymore.
2. Think of this like a dungeon for the nether. After all, they did make dungeons just for a few mobs. And people like it because they get loot.
maybe instead of a nether tower you can make it have its "Home" In a nether fortress and it can lead you to it?
I could maybe change the suggestion to make the tower one of the buildings of a nether fortress. But I think that doing this would really instead make people complain, because I don't think people want to fight phoenixes, wither skeletons, ghasts, and blazes at the same time. If I were to make it peaceful and make it lead you to a nether fortress like you suggested, I would have a high chance of getting my thread locked, because it would be redundant.
I like everything but the flame feathers. We have an enchantment for that.
I knew someone would point that out. My idea is that when you shoot one of these arrows along with the flame enchantment, it will do twice the damage of a normal arrow. But shooting a Phoenix with this enchantment will just give it more health.
Ok, Ok, I know. You probably think this is redundant. Surprising enough, I haven't found that many posts about phoenix suggestions, and the majority are about them being boss mobs that you fight, or they aren't the main part of the post. I just want this post to be completely focused on this type of phoenix. If any suggestions you have seen seem similar to this one, please tell me. Thanks.
So, what is the phoenix? What does it do?
Phoenixes are birds that will spawn in the the nether. They would look kinda like ducks, except their skin would be yellow, their bill would be red, and their back would have a fire-looking mane. These birds fly around their towers, and though they are small, they still can do damage. These birds, if you are 30 blocks away, will in around 15 seconds stop encircling their tower and come to headbutt you. Even though it does only a half heart of damage, it will put you on fire, and with ghasts flying near, it gets harder. Luckily, these birds only have as much health as a chicken, so they could be easily put out. They also get damage from snowballs and water.
So where does the phoenix spawn?
In a very, tall tower called the nether tower. It looks like a chunk of a nether fortress left in the middle of the nether really. These towers are always sticking out of the lava ocean, making them harder to get to. When you get to one, the inside will have a spiral case leading up to the roof. And on the roof, there you will find a mob spawner, with a phoenix ready to come out any minute. At the side of the spawner will be a chest, filled with the goodies you'd see at any nether fortress chest. The phoenixes flock around the tower they came out of, and will only stop to attack you occasionally. They don't all come at the same time, if you are asking.
So what does it drop?
Flame feathers! These orange feather can replace the feathers when you are crafting arrows. The changes that it will make is that when you shoot with these arrows at a mob/steve, they will go on fire, but in exchange, the arrows shot will have only half the damage you get from a regular arrow. Either way, it will still do a lot of damage.

So currently, this is my suggestion. It is the first in a while, so I'm sorry if it's a bit rusty/vague. Well, hope you like it, and have a good day!

That's an a opinion. Have you seen how many people support a new hostile mob in the nether? Or at least a new challenge?
