    By the time you had sent me this link, I had already seen it. True, it looks PRISTINE, and perfectly suits the minecraftian builder, it's not quite what I was going for. I was going for a mod that would add a bunch of stuff to allow for user-made dungeons and such, sort of like adventurecraft, only more, and in the minecraft core, not just using it as a game engine. To do something like that normally would usually require knowledge of redstone rivaling that of sethbling's, and even then, the possibilities would be limited due to minecraft's lack of... well, functional things. Sure, it has dispensers that you can spawn mobs with, but even a volley of creepers does not a good dungeon make.

    Well, the sword pedestal thing in the parentheses would be one of the blocks, items would probably be something to the tune of legend of zelda stuffs for solving puzzles that one may devise... that sort of thing.

    You probably didn't patch the game with mcpatcher, if that were the case, and they were hd packs, the water, lava, and fire textures would not be animated. that, or you're using optifine.

    Use either gimp or paint.net. I would recommend using paint.net (NOT microsoft paint, paint.net, look it up,) because, quite frankly, I personally find gimp hard to use, and paint.net has some more stuff at your disposal.

    Of all the mods the minecraft community has today, ranging from little things, like the useful seeds mod, to grandiose works of block art, like the Aether mod, There is one type of mod I have yet to, and would absolutely love to see is a mod made specifically for map-makers. One that would add a range of blocks and items merely for the purpose of building dungeons, temples, or whatever the minecrafter's could muster up. Whether they be traps, (blocks or entities) elaborate switches, (such as a pedestal the sends redstone signal when a sword is inserted) things like this would definitely push all the right buttons for those who love to build things that kill you, or would require some semblance of skill to activate or solve.
