A friend and I have been working on recreating the Kanto region from the games of Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver for some time now and have finally got it to a presentable and almost entirely completed state (we're still changing things here and there to improve it when we get ideas). The map is made using the scale where every one tile in Pokémon counts as a 2x2 square in Minecraft. Please note, the map is made using vanilla Minecraft, it can therefore be played without the need for any mods (although, I am pretty sure that the map would work rather nicely using Pixelmon)

Kanto Map tours:
General map information
We chose to base our recreation off of the games of HGSS mostly because the games are far more colourful and detailed than the previous generations that contain Kanto; because of that, we were able to build a more aesthetically appealing map.
To make the map more immersive, we have added a number of features. Firstly, the player does not have the ability to jump in the map; this is due to there being no jumping in Pokémon games. Secondly, we have covered the map with barrier blocks to prevent the player from going places that they aren't able to access in the games. Third, we use command block interiors for most of the important buildings so that the necessary interior decorations could seemly fit within the much smaller exteriors. Fourth, titles are used throughout the map; therefore, when entering a town, city or route, the player is presented with a title informing them of the location that they are currently in. Finally, we give the player the night-vision potion effect through most of the map so that lighting was not an issue in large teleport interiors or in caves.
As mentioned earlier, the map is made in vanilla Minecraft version 1.8 and above. Our eventual hope (after we finish off Johto) is to make a second version of the map which would use many Pixelmon features such as the custom Pokémon spawnings, Pokémon trainers and decorative and functional blocks. Using said features, we would attempt to recreate the spawning habits of Pokémon throughout the regions and include all trainers and Gym Leaders where they should be found. But these goals are likely quite a way off.

I hope that you enjoy the updates that we've added, Danny.
As for the Mall, the build isn't completed. We haven't added in any maintenance shafts or offices for the people who would run the Mall. I also prefer to tour a building fully before making it available for download. Anyway, in answer to your question, I think that the Mall being added to the map is some way off from happening. Sorry.

Love your work! I have been playing this map for a long time (I think from version 1.2). Also I have few questions:
1. Why are there crashed UFOs under some buildings?
2. What episode is that village under Barney's Bowlarama from?
3. How many secret places are in your map?
4. How many members are in Enderwarp team?
5. Weren't here older versions for download?
Thanks for answers
Thank you very much for the kind words and continued playing.
1. The UFOs are just random little secrets under the buildings.
2. The village under the Bowlarama isn't from an episode, it was just a secret place that we were making. The secrets don't usually reference to episodes.
3. I'm not too sure, on average, one ever two buildings.
4. I'm not sure on that point either, people have come and gone. We also have builders that technically aren't part of the Enderwarp Team but still build alongside us.
5. We don't have older versions of the map up for download. I'm not even sure if I've kept older versions. The newer updates are much nicer anyway.
Thank you for the questions. We have plans for the map and new ideas in regards to what we want to do. We just don't currently have enough free time to work on it. Hopefully, we should be able to get it started some point in the near future.

Could you explain what you mean by "it's invisible"? I downloaded the map from the link, I've unzipped it, I took the "Cartoon Recreations (1.8 compatible)" save folder and put it into my Minecraft saves folder and was able to see the world, open it and use it just fine.
If you can give me some more detail, I'll gladly try to help resolve this issue that you're having.

Thanks Legendary! We do have another downloadable map that contains major builds from multiple cartoon shows, TV series and movies. As for pixel art, we aren't massive fans of pixel art and tend not to make them ourselves. We are currently working on also making South Park.

Thank you for the kind words. And thank you for the suggestion, I will try to do that at some point. But I'm having an issue with editing my forum post, when I edit it, most of the text within my post disappears...

The downloadable map is quite old, I will be updating it at some point over the next few weeks. Thank you for reminding me to update Moe's in it also.

No problemo, I'm happy to help.
I hope that you enjoy looking around the map.

Did you put the folder "Cartoon Recreations (1.8 compatible)" into your saves folder? This folder can be found alongside the Readme.rtf within the "Cartoon Build Files" folder that you will have downloaded. This folder is the map save folder, not the one that you downloaded.

What do you mean? The map works with any version after the one that it was released for. This map last updated on the 26th of September, gaining a new building or two, along with a lot of 1.8 related updates. The map therefore works with 1.8 and above.
