posted a message on [GUIDE] A how-to on increasing FPS in Minecraft
i found something that can increase FPS but doesnt work for all. if you delete the achievements folder and the meta-inf folder (so mineraft wont freeze on login) it effects your FPS greatly. increased my FPS from 30-40 to 60-90 and also 2 other people if low FPS had this boost up there FPS by a ton.

I tried it just for fun, and it caused the loading bar to stop near the end.

strange.. tried it on 3 testers, worked for all 3.

tester one: start FPS 25-30, after fix 40-45 FPS

tester two: start 21 FPS, after fix 100 FPS

tester three: start 88-250 FPS, after fix 78-150 FPS (not recommended for high FPS)

i did these steps, it increased my FPS for 30-40 to 60-90.

    1. rename minecraft.jar (found in .minecraft/bin) to minecraft.zip

    2. extract it to some folder

    3. remove folders META-INF and achievements

    4. zip it into minecraft.zip

    5. rename minecraft.zip to minecraft.jar

posted a message on Mysterious lag problem! (Read before posting about lag!)
disabling wolves on my server stopped most socket exceptions.

also apperntly i cant join any default port server, but other port servers work fine.

found some of the client lag comes from stars. they also render at day but are invisible. all 1500 of them. every frame. disabling them made me gain 20 FPS

posted a message on possible fix for server hosters on 1.4 - remove wolves
my server owner had many problems with the servers: people crashing from overflows and tons of socket exceptions. after a bit about 20 socketexceptions came in a row and server turned unresponsive. he asked what he can do to fix it, i said that i saw there are quite alot of problems with tamed wolves having bugs with ownerships, and suggested to remove them. (my server owner uses bukkit) after he removed them, the socket exceptions stopped almost instantly, and the server was playable again. maybe some of you server owners using bukkit can try this and see if it fixes it.

So now I have to prove myself to you why?

Are you that paranoid boy? :wink.gif:

And on my main computer minecraft uses 700MB RAM when the computer has 6GB so I'd hardly say that's a HUGE difference?

On the computer you were refering to me "proving" myself.
I know not the actual FPS but minecraft F3 says 67 which I'd say isn't bad. Considering it's lagless.
    It's an Nvidia 5200, AMD Athlon 64 processor 3000 at 2.01GHz, 2x 512MB DDR2 and Yes I do know my computers.

Very low spec and quite an old computer.
But she plays minecraft like fluid. :happy.gif:
and even runs my home server like an angel.

    So cheer up man.
Minecraft is the way, close your eyes... shhh... It will all be over soon.
Here have a :sponge: :Notch: :RFlower:

that computer runs minecraft 1.4 at 67 FPS? wat. i didnt think nvidia series 5 can even RUN minecraft..they are like from 2004..

i too had a old computer, 1GB ram, interdual core 1.86GHZ, nvidia geforce 7600 gs (bad i know) it ran minecraft untill 1.3 with 30 FPS, not laggy, allowed me to play on short fog, fancy and smooth shadows, but 1.4 took that away by causing computer to BSOD because glorious minecraft eats away 950MB RAM after 10 minutes.

Well you my need to just open that port and don't change the port if he doesn't know what his doing, the other may not be able to join his servers then**

To open you port type your ip into the web browser type the router pass and user (if default should be on the bottom)
and just open the port his using (if it still lags he has to do it)

his port IS open. else people wont be able to connect AT ALL

some people here need to stop getting there head out of the ground and actually think.

notch is not god, he is just an ass who got lucky when he earned lots of money.

minecraft is not bugless. infact, its one of the most CPU eating games ive ever seen, due to the vast amount of memory leaks, with the last 1 at 1.4, that ended up tripling the RAM that minecraft needs to function. also, not everyone can buy a computer that costs 3000$ just for minecraft like some of you guys have. for some people, minecraft uses resources even more than crysis 2! my friend on steam runs crysis 2 on 800mb RAM and 150 FPS while minecraft eats 1.5gb RAM and has 100 FPS.

No idea which nether portal you came out of but take a seat on this here log. :log:
    $3000 computer?
Sorry but this hunk of junk I put together is worth less than $100 and runs minecraft flawlessly. :Zombie:
1.5GB of RAM? Something seriously wrong with your computer as this computer only has 1GB RAM and minecraft uses 450MB. :--+:

Only time It's gone higher than 1GB of RAM is when I was using my 256 texture pack. And that thing makes the game HUGE. :tnt:

Wake up and smell the cocoa beans. :RFlower:
    COOKIES! :biggrin.gif: :iapprove:

    :sleep.gif:

you clearly know nothing about computers.

ofcourse your minecraft uses 450mb RAM on your 1gb RAM computer, because it cant use anymore! your OS and other programs use the RAM too!

if your computer is such a piece of junk, list the stats of the computer and how much FPS it runs minecraft with so we can know you are not lying.

could be possible by inverting the pressure plate output and the door, then adding an override switch.

if you have no blocks around the source block like

    [] :Water: []
    [] [] []
    [] [] []
    [] [] []

    it will fall like

    [] :Water: []
    :Teal: :Teal: :Teal:
    :Teal: :Teal: :Teal:
    :Teal: :Teal: :Teal:

    but if its like

    :stone: :Water: :stone:
    [] :Teal: []
    [] :Teal: []
    [] :Teal: []

    it will fall straight :biggrin.gif:

Also, you should add about how you can change flow of water with redstone (for many times actually, if you make and fill holes using sand, and make the sand fall because another water source was changed, causing a torch to be destroyed)

when a source block is placed it will attempt to spread around himself first, thats why.

also redstone making water flow works by "reminding" the water theres another drop nearby so water attempts to flow to it too.

    agh...

    so much untrue facts here..

the only way water source forms from 2 other water sources, is when the 2 water sources have only 1 air block between them and are flowing to it, and there must be a solid block that is not glass under the air block for the source to form.

when a full water block is 3 blocks away from a drop of atleast 1 block (water and lava count as air in this physic) the water flows straight toward the drop without spreading. if there are multiple drops the water will flow to all of them.
