The whole problem is that Notch contradicts himself.
One one hand he says that It's a pre-order for the final product,
and on the other, he says you are buying the game as it is at that moment.

Amazing job. If it was up to me, the optional update launcher would get stickied. I'm on mac, and it is a bit buggy at times, but it works. Thanks!

Upon reflection, I think it would be best for option #2. It makes a lot of sense to put all the best bits in a slightly less noob-accessible area. Besides, this means every time you visit the modding forum the first thing you see is all of the crazy neat ideas people are coming up with (as well as the hilarious dumb ones like rawkit lawnchairs).

In that case, are we just going to put WIP and MOD together? I imagine WIP would be updated more frequently, and therefore would often be bumped up past mods. Maybe once a mod has a functioning version they will get stickied?

This could be useful. If a modder doesn't have a most current version, after some period of time a mod will unsticky them and they will be allowed to drift back into the WIP pile. When they have a working version they will get their stickied position returned.

For number two, the only threads that would go in the new section would be ones with a download. If you can download it and it works, that would be where it would go. I think that If it was 2 or more updates out of date, and if the modder has not posted that he or she is working on it, then It would need to be moved out of the forum.

Btw, I loled at rokkit lawnchairs :iapprove: I approve.

I have no problem using the searchbox or simply browsing through the pages as is.
My only issue is with too many crap posts.

For example, at least 10 pages in MineColony could be removed as they are filled with "Plz update", "Is it updated?", "OMG update NOW! xD" and/or general stupidity.

Personally I think such posts should warrant a firm yet not harsh reminder by some sort of moderator.
I find posts such as "AMG halp i git blackscreen!!!!!Halp me or crepers git u :SSSS: :SSSS: :SSSS: !!!!!"
In a thread that clearly has [1.1_01] in the title or has NOT WORKING FOR THE LATEST MINECRAFT VERSION posted in the OP to be the most annoying type of post.

Agreed. A few highly active moddeerators would be much better. Needing permission to post would defeat the purpose of a new "Released Mods" forum in my opinion.

a few other posters suggested having a combination of both options 1 and 2, and i agree. where's the option for that?

How so? Just saying "a combonation" is not very descreptive as to ehat you want.
