"...lacking when it comes to reflex-intensive games that require precise timing."

I would hardly classify Minecraft as reflex-intensive and requiring a lot of precise timing. 😂 Besides, that research is regarding temporal pointing, Minecraft is more spatial pointing.

Bedrock edition was designed for crossplay on PC and consoles, not just smartphones and the game started out on PC on Java version.

I literally just told you that the Bedrock Engine started out on Pocket Edition, that's where it came from. It was doing so well they went with the Better Together update, which moved that codebase to consoles. The Legacy Console editions didn't just get an update that enabled cross-play, they essentially got an entirely re-written version of Minecraft. The Windows 10 version was already cross-playing with Pocket Edition before that. I received the Win10 version for free when it was in beta, since I'd already owned the Java Edition. I mostly play on my Win10 desktop, or my android tablet, and sometimes my PS4. Playing in survival on a touch screen isn't hard. I'm actually much quicker with the bow/crossbow on that setup than I am on the PS4.

If nostalgia is key, just force everyone to use the Java edition. I'm not talking about nostalgia though.

The Bedrock Engine came from the Pocket Edition, which was released before any legacy console editions. It's also very popular, still the top paid (not free) app in the Google Play store in most countries. Adding a significant feature that isn't available on the mobile devices would be unusual to say the least. But then again, only three platforms have the Render Dragon engine that supports ray tracing, so maybe the mobile aspect of the game will be set aside.

Back to the 'root' though, using the shield on touch screen is harder than using it on the console, which is harder than using it on the PC. Have you ever used the touch screen mobile controls?

I believe the game is designed for the platforms and their default configurations. How would you feel if they changed everything to VR and made you buy accessories?

I don't see how the dual wielding system would be detrimental to the mobile platform though.

Try using touch screen controls and you'll figure out how detrimental it would be.

But people wouldn't be forced into crafting the daggers or using the dual wielding combat system on mobile devices, that's the point. There is no mechanic currently in the game that requires this, other than anything related to shields such as blocking Shulker projectiles.

Also, wireless keyboards and mice exist, so if they are compatible with android Minecraft then that's kinda a moot point.

Most people would rather the game progress and have more features added, not go backwards.

Do you remember the Better Together update? A key feature of Bedrock is that it's basically the same on each platform/device it's being played on. I rather enjoy being able to hop on my tablet/phone and get some things done in my world while I'm away from home. It would be weird to add features to the game that require mobile users to purchase accessories to use them.

On a side note, I do use a bluetooth controller for my phone (it has a nice holder for the phone) and my tablet (no holder lol). I'm prejudice against the combat system on Java, never liked it. It's the main reason I migrated to Bedrock. However the dual wielding aspect is nice.

Keep in mind that Bedrock is also for mobile devices. I'm not sure how feasible the combat system from Java would be implemented into a touch screen control system.

posted a message on How do you see creation date of a minecraft world on bedrock?

As far as I know, this would involve downloading the saved world to a computer, decrypting the file, and looking at the creation date. It's a bit of a hassle.

Bamboo is a fast burning fuel, however with a noisy zero-tick bamboo farm, you'll have enough to cook/smelt your goodies.
