posted a message on (CLOSED) ☢Fallout: Sins of Our Fathers☢[24/7][Serious RolePlay] #1 FALLOUT ROLE-PLAY SERVER!
Time you can dedicate: If I enjoy the server and the people on it, maybe an hour or two per day.
Why us?: Well, I've played on a few Fallout roleplay servers and always enjoyed it, and this seems to be the popular one nowadays.
Define Role-Playing in your words: A form of dynamic storytelling in which a group of people, acting as characters, interact with each other for fun and enjoyment.
Define Meta-gaming in your words: Using knowledge that your character could not possibly know to benefit yourself.
Define Power-gaming in your words: Suddenly giving your character nigh superhuman abilities or powerful objects with no explanation or doing things to/controlling other players' characters without their consent.

Name: Jack Westwood (Although he doesn't respond to this name)
    Nickname: Duke Paladin
    Age: 38
    Gender: Male
Appearance: A typical 1950's portrayal of a cowboy. He wears a black cowboy hat, a dirty old green poncho, and a pair of ragged blue jeans. His face is rough, and obscured by a layer of dirt and bristly facial hair.
Personality: Delusional, but all in all, a good guy. He believes he is a lot more skilled than he actually is, which can lead him into trouble at times, but he is also quite brave and confident. He's not exactly friendly or approachable, but if you are in need of help, he can always be depended on to do the right thing.

In-game RP example: Duke sauntered into the dilapidated bar, brushing his hand against his thigh to double check that he had his revolver at the ready. This looked like the kind of place where he might have to use it if he wasn't careful. Fortunately, there weren't a lot of people around, just a few young people sitting around a table at the back and an old man at the end of the bar, who gave Duke a bit of a stink-eye when he entered. Duke took a seat at the bar, subtly observing his surroundings. At the table were two young men and a girl, quietly talking and drinking some sort of cocktails. Except the girl. She didn't have anything to drink, strangely. The old man was slowly pickling his innards, judging by the dirty shotglasses around him and the glazed look in his eyes.

The bartender eventually found his way to Duke and gruffly muttered "What'll ya have?". "Beer." He replied. Just one word. It's all he needed to say to get what he wanted. Ignoring the lukewarm bottle placed in front of him, he said to the bartender "I'm looking for information about the Gold Valley slavers." The bartender dropped the glass he was cleaning, and turned pale as a ghost. The laughing stopped at the table of teenagers. A voice piped up from behind Duke. "You wanna know about the Gold Valley slavers, man? I'll tell you about the slavers alright." Duke swiveled his barstool around to get a good look at the source of the voice. He was confronted with the sight of two large men around mid 20's, one holding an assault rifle and the other a baseball bat with rusty nail protruding from it. The girl, who was covering her eyes now, had a black, metal collar around her neck with a glowing orange light on it.

"Here's all you gotta know about us, old man. We're gonna kill you."

Duke stood up, and as he drew his revolver, he wondered how this could have happened to him again.

Background: Duke was born as Jack Westwood in a small settlement in eastern Nevada. His mother and father died from illness during an epidemic, leaving his older brother to take care of him when he was only 6 years old. They didn't have a lot growing up together, but whenever Jack was scared or sad, his brother would regale him with tales of cowboys and indians and the ways of the wild west. While scavenging, he once found a holotape recording of an old radio show about a gunslinger named Duke Paladin who brought justice to a small Texas town and saved the life of a beautiful woman. The Westwood brothers listened to it so many times that they could recite the entire thing by heart.

When Jack was 14 and his brother 20, the settlement was attacked by raiders. Jack managed to escape the settlement, but his brother stayed behind to defend what little they had. When Jack returned to the village after the raid, he found the settlement had been destroyed and his brother killed. Something changed within Jack that day. When he left the smoldering remains of that settlement, he left behind everything he ever loved, and abandoned his own name. He took up the mantle of Duke Paladin, deciding that only a cowboy could right the wrongs of the wasteland, just as the original Duke Paladin had done in the wild west. He got himself a six-shooter and a cowboy get-up, and started acting like a regular old desperado. At first, he kept it reasonable, dropping the act when he had to be serious, but after so many years as Duke, he began to honestly believe he was a cowboy. Now, after many years of wandering the desert, lending a hand whenever he can, he has found himself in the area once known as Utah.

Duke is not exactly an amazing shot, but he can at least hold his own in a fight. However, he outright refuses to use energy weapons or automatic rifles, which gives him a disadvantage at times, but he is quite skilled with his revolver, and is also known to use a lever action repeater and a shotgun from time to time.

EDIT: I nearly forgot that Nuka Cola is tasty!

I applied once before but was ignored. It appears now that you have issues with a lack of cops and trolls, so I am applying as a cop this time.

I just got an idea, how about if the millstone could be used to turn sandstone back into sand? It sucks when you have 5 stacks of sandstone but you need a lot of sand for something.

posted a message on "Not now" updating trouble
Alright so I got the new launcher, and I said don't update now so I can play SMP. Then, the green bar goes almost to the edge of the page, says "Done Loading," and then doesn't do anything. It just freezes up. Help?

what you have built or will build: I like building on top of mountains for some reason. I could build a nice watchtower for a town or something.
servers you played on before: A few open servers just to get the feel of multiplayer, I've never stuck around long.
