THIS MOD HAS BEEN MOVED TO ANOTHER THREAD, LINK:
http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1461159-131advancedmobs-20-pr5-making-mobs-harder-and-smarterforgesmp/
Hey everyone, I've spent this morning creating the first version of this mod, AdvancedMobs 1.0.
This mod's main focus is changing the AI's for mobs, and adding new features, and improving old ones.
Main Features:
Skeletons have finite arrows and will pick them up, they have a default from 7-14 arrows.
Skeletons, if they run out of arrows, will go look for arrows in a 8 block radius.
Skeletons now have a chance to spawn with leather armor, a lower chance to have iron armor.
Skeletons, when they run out of arrows, and they see none nearby, they will pull out a sword and charge at you.
Skeletons and zombies will not burn if they have a chestplate and a helmet, and will burn for less time if they only have a helmet.
Zombies now have a chance to spawn with iron armor.
Zombies now have a chance to spawn with a stone sword.
Zombies will now run from sunlight, and will not go into sunlight, even to chase a player.
Zombies will now sprint at the player if they are within 8 blocks of the player. They will stop when they are within attacking range.
Zombie and Skeletons rare drops are improved.
Skeletons drop their remaining arrows.
You can pickup skeleton's arrows, and they can pickup yours.
Updates for version 1.1:
Creepers become charged when they walk over any redstone or glowstone
Slimes become magma slimes when in contact with fire, lava, redstone, glowstone, torches
Endermen now have a block pickup priority.
Spiders and Cave Spiders have a 12.5% chance to respawn on death.
Cave Spiders now spawn rarely in light level 2 or lower, and will spawn in jungle biomes, at light level 7 or lower.
Updates for version 1.2:
Creepers run faster when charged.
Creepers will explode when on fire.
Able to disarm skeletons and zombies(Shears for bow, Axe for Swords).
Creepers will explode faster when charged.
Charged Creepers will have a 25% chance to drop TNT
Use a shears to get bones from skeletons, axes for rotten flesh from zombies.
Creepers start their countdown when on fire.
Updates for version 1.3:
Shears now take durability when you hit a mob and it disarms them in some way.
Did some random variable rebalancing
Ability to defuse creepers and endermen with shears, a creeper has 50% chance to explode instantly, and a 50% chance to, when it explodes, do nothing. Endermen will not be able to teleport when sheared, There's not too much I can do, with the bugs this may cause, as AI's are hardcoded into Endermen, versus using the same AI's as other mobs. More to come on this later.'
In 1.2, I made skeletons able to break down doors, I've expanded on this by making it so Zombies and Skeletons will break down doors in Normal mode as well(You may need to get more iron ).
I feel I may have missed a feature or too, I coded most of this last night.
Updates for version 1.4:
Improved Door AI, Zombies and villagers use doors more easily.
Disarming improved.
Fire bugs fixed
Blazes can spawn in lava lakes.
Slimes have a 25% chance to poison players.
Armored mobs take twice the durability on your tools.
Slimes can swim.
Pigs over redstone, glowstone, or lit on fire will turn into zombie pigmen.
Silverfish on redstone will die.
Zombies with axes break down doors faster.
Villagers have a 50% chance to spawn as warriors, with either wooden swords or stone swords.
Smiths will always be warriors and have iron swords.
Warriors will not go inside at night.
Warriors will chase zombies.
Farmers when warriors, Will use a hoe and do one extra point of damage.
Priests cannot be warriors.
More misc bug fixes.
Creepers can knock down wooden doors!
Updates for 1.5:
Villagers attack all mobs.
Did a small update on the door AI
New Plank AI, Zombies with iron axes can break through planks and logs, later on, all wooden objects. HARD MODE only
Improved Warrior AI, More like iron golems.
Zombies and skeletons, when idle, will head towards and break nearby torches, could be useful for mob traps, 3 block radius They must be in the block to break this, later on I'll add a specific distance.
Some more bug fixes, took a while for the planks, so Not much else.
Updates for 1.6:
Librarians, that are warriors will carry around bows(and shoot them too!)
Zombies and skeletons will break glass panes/blocks
Zombies, skeletons, slimes will dance on crops(literally) Slimes are buggy on this, More to fix later
Improved plank breaking system, fixed lots of bugs
Zombies without axes or with, can break glass.
Zombies and Skeletons with axes can now break all wood items, fences, planks, logs, stairs ETC
Fixed Villager bugs when you reload the world, they would have hoes if their not a farmer.
Updates for 1.7:
Fixed Villager bugs
Fixed torch and breaking bugs.
Fixed animals and warrior villagers not moving/wandering/panicing.
If you attack a zombie, nearby ones will attack you greater than 16 blocks away until you kill one, but every time you hit one, the all come after you, killing them does NOT remove the aggro, just stops new ones from coming after you.
Fixed alot of more bugs.
Updates for 1.8:
Fixed lots of more bugs.
Added librarians ability to have bows.
Added fleeing for villagers and spiders.
Magma Cubes, die in water, may come for all nether mobs.
Magma Cubes when killed by water, drop 0-2 obsidian.
Every time you hit a Zombie Pigman, their attack goes up by one.
You can clip chicken's wings with shears to get feathers.
You can give 6 red or 1 brown mushroom to cows to get a mooshroom.
Pigs can also give leather as a loot.
Sheep have given porkchops as a drop for a while, forgot to mention.
Updates for 1.9:
Fixed a few bugs.
Zombie pigmen damage limited, can flee.
All mobs but spiders, endermen, and slimes, when they fall(5 blocks or more), will be paused for 2 seconds.
Villagers will now flee from player attacks.
If you shoot a mob from over 16 blocks away, they will come, versus just sitting there.
When hitting a Zombie/Zombie Pigman, with a axe, they have a 6.25% chance of dropping a iron ingot or gold nugget, only if they have armor.
A few minor features.
Plans for 2.0:
Would be SMP, I tried for 1.9, I have no knowledge on how to smp, even with tutorials, If someone would like to help, and receive credit, skype me at: max.bruce11

Hi! I am Flafla2(I know, my forum name is Flalfla2, but that was a typo), and when I saw this mod request, I was surprised that It didn't exist yet. So, I made the mod for this request! I call it Simple NPCs! This mod is a very simple(no pun intended) concept-the NPCs don't build anything, and they don't generate with the terrain. These NPCs do exactly what you want them to. They use your textures, and they say what you want!
This mod was designed with mapmakers in mind. The mod has two versions-a builder version and a player version. In the player version, NPCs can be spawned, but spawners can't be crafted. In the builder version, NPC spawners can be crafted.
Video made by me!:
Video made by death0master0er!:
Old Video(from 0.1)!:
FeaturesHere are some pics demonstrating what the mod can do so far(Not all features are covered!):
The male citizen spawner crafting recipe.
The female citizen spawner crafting recipe(the difference between male and female is that they can have different default textures).
The doctor spawner crafting recipe(When right clicked, the doctor also restores you to full health).
The trader spawner crafting recipe!
You can also craft an NPC ban disc that kills any NPC instantly on right click (even if they are denoted as 'invincible')!
To edit an NPC, just craft this editor disc and right click on the NPC spawner block!
Finally, here are the four current characters side-by-side.
InstallationHow to install via MCPatcher:
1. Click the + on the mods window
2. Double click the mod folder (Should be Simple NPC V# where # is the version number)
3. If making a Simple NPC map for public download (Custom Map), click "For Builders" and click OK
if installing to play on a Simple NPC required map, click "For Players" and click OK
4. Click OK (there should be a window showing all the directories and such)
5. Click Patch Minecraft
6. (Optional but recommended) Click "Test Minecraft" to check for crashes and such
7. Enjoy!
Download(Includes Builder and Player versions)This mod requires Risugami's Modloader, also the ScrollableControls mod is recommended, but not required.

Changelog:
V0.5:
- Quests! The long-awaited update is finally here!:
- Press 'R'(by default) to open up the quest-view GUI. Here, you can add, edit, and remove quests. Rolling over a quest allows you to look at information about it. In the player version of the mod, the player can view the quests he/she has been given in this menu(needless to say, the player can't add/edit/delete quests).
- Also introduced in this update, is the new quest-creation GUI. This GUI is where you can manage the requirements of a quest(what the player needs to do to complete the quest), and the results of it(what happens when the player completes it).
- Note, that I disabled the ability to actually gain quests in the BUILDER version, this is only possible in the player version. You will get a SAMPLE "Quest Get!" message, though.
- In this update, factions were introduced. For now, factions are only used to group NPCs together for quests, but I might expand on the idea in the future.
- I also put a new section in the NPC creation GUI. This section allows you to assign an NPC to a quest ID(which you can find in the quest-view GUI). If a player talks to an NPC that is assigned a quest ID, he/she will get that quest. Similarly, I included the new XML command, givequest:#, which does the same thing.
V0.4_04:
- Updated for Minecraft 1.2.5
- Known bug: disabled text fields in the Gui aren't gray. This is a Minecraft bug, not snpc.
V0.4_03:
- Bug fixes for glitchy trader/trader spawners.
V0.4_02:
- Updated for Minecraft 1.2.3
- Started work on pathfinding
- Added spawner blocks to creative inventory
V0.4_01:
- Bug Fixes!:
- Fixed behavior bugs where hostile NPCs would be screwy in the builder version(with the toggle and whatnot)
- Fixed behavior bugs where friendly NPCs would follow you around
- I probably fixed more, I can't really remember right now
- Added a new NPC behavior mode: Stationary-Agressive. When in this mode NPCs will not wonder off in their idle state. This is useful for sentries/staged battles
- Added a new XML option reaction: giveuseritem:#:#:#. It gives the player the item or block of the first number(block id), the quantity of the second(optional, defaults to 1), and the metadata of the third(again, optional).
V0.4:
- The XML Conversations Update! Now mapmakers can create XML files to dictate what the NPCs say! Look for documentation on the Simple NPC wiki!
- Bug fixes:
- The game no crashes when you break an NPC spawner
- NPC spawners now take on EXACTLY the same texture and render stats as the block under it(ex. Grass is colorized, half blocks are halves, etc.
- MANY, MANY more bug fixes; the Guis and spawners are a lot less buggy after the last 2 updates.
V0.3_07:
- You can now give NPCs names, like in SMP!
- You can now give NPCs armor!
- Completely redesigned and rethought GUI! The new system is more Minecraft-ish, and it allows going back to other screens(for example, if you want to change the NPC name while in the armor GUI).
- You can now edit NPC data without going into the config file!
- Bug fixes:
- NPCs no longer jump while stationary. They just stand there.
- NPCs look at you when they are stationary/passive/not provoked
- Fixed many bugs where NPC data would reset upon editing the NPC
V0.3_06:
- Updated to Minecraft 1.1!
- Behavior Update! NPCs now have 4 different behaviors to choose from:
- Stationary: The NPC stands still and looks at the player(same as the NPCs prior to this update)
- Passive: The NPC walks around like animals/testificate
- Neutral: The NPC walks around and attacks when provoked
- Aggressive: The NPC walks around and attacks on sight
- In the builder version, pressing "p" will toggle global NPC aggression, making the NPCs not have to follow you around all of the time (this button is configurable in the controls). By default it is off in the builder version.
- There is also a configurable attack damage for the NPCs.
- If the NPC is holding a bow and is aggressive, he or she will shoot arrows at the player!
- NPCs have configurable health now!
- The GUIs have also gotten an update:
- The GUIs look better and are more stable as a whole!
- For on/off options, I have replaced the old "two buttons and a disabled textfield" thing with a single button(more consistent with existing Minecraft menus).
- It is now impossible to type in a letter in number-required text boxes(i.e. health, held item, damage dealt)
- You can now edit NPC spawners with the NPC editor tool! Just right-click on the spawner block!
- Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a bug where you couldn't use a trading item for more than one trading combo.
- NPC spawners are now indestructible in the player version(like bedrock).
V0.3_05:
- Updated to Minecraft 1.0.0!
- Bug fixes:
- When the respawn option is turned on, the NPCs only respawn upon death, as opposed to when they are pushed off of their spawner.
- There was massive code cleanup, making the NPCs and their spawners a LOT less buggy and laggy as a whole(Ex. No more NPC duplication glitches!).
- Ban discs are now craftable.
V0.3_04:
- Bug fix:
- Fixed a bug where the game wouldn't save and load correctly
V0.3_03:
- Bug fixes:
- Fixed a trader config GUI bug where pressing the minus button would crash the game
- Fixed a bug where the when one NPC held item was changed, every NPC would also experience the change
- "Fixed" the female NPCs skin(muahahahahaha! )
V0.3_02:
- Bug fixes:
- Fixed bug where NPCs couldn't hold tools
- Added a "BAN DISC MUAHAHAHAH!" that instakills NPCs on right click. Also kills "indestructible" NPCs.
V0.3_01:
- There is now a "More Options" menu! This menu includes:
- The ability to enable/disable NPC respawn
- The ability to make NPCs invincible
- The ability to give NPCs something to hold!
- Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a glitch where sometimes the trader GUI would show 2 of the same option.
- Spawners are MUCH easier to destroy.
V0.3:
- Trader Polish Update! Includes:
- Now there is a new scroll-based trading GUI! When right-clicking on a trader, the new gui will pop up, showing all possible trading combinations based on the player's inventory!
- The config file glitches are fixed!
- Bug fixes:
- Again, config file glitches are fixed!
- When NPCs are knocked off of their stand, new ones now correctly take their place!
-The double-NPC-spawner bug is now fixed for good!
V0.2_04:
- Major rewrite of about 50% of the mod. EVERY file is changed.
- The GUI update!:
- Traders can trade quantities of materials now!
- There is now a "talk to player when near" option!
- Config files for traders!
- Bug fixes!:
- NPC spawners of the same type can now be placed right next to each other!
- The looking animation isn't so creepy anymore! (NPCs only look at you when you are close, the head doesn't shake creepily)
V0.2_03:
- Major infrastructure work
- Bug fixes
V0.2_02:
- 1.8.x support!
V0.2_01:
- Bug Fixes!
- NPC Spawners now take on the texture of the block under it, if one exists. You can still override this texture, though.
V0.2:
- Traders!
- NPC Spawner Texture Changer!
- Bug fixes!
V0.1:
Initial release.

edit: i hope you get many downloads for this cause it doesn't seem to get a lot of chatter and such.
maybe if you look around for a bunch of the best added recipes and add some of them by default and promote it with that angle also it would get more attention? maybe people think its good idea to be able to add any recipe but lack ideas on what to add so they just overlook this mod? i don't know, i absolutely love your mod so i don't get it. i imagine this as being one of those threads with several pages of cool ideas and such.
that being said here's some recipes i find useful(many beacuse i've been plaing on skyzone mod)

so i take it that pizzashark must (cause there is no other explination) be hamofwar's copyright attourney. i cant possibly see why anyone would get so bent out of shape about someone else's work. you obviously must have a very personal stake in the matter.
but maybe i'm being mean. in fact i wish to join you pizzashark, i have an idea lets go on a crusade and murder everyone that we think may or may not be doing something that is at the very worst, minimally illegal.
earlier i saw a mod that adds trees. he must be using nanondolts work from beta 1.3.01. to arms brother!

why not be 2 sticks over 2 logs? so it works in 2x2.
also i think it would be cooler if you just drop the item and if it is close enough to the fire it becomes cooked, then you wouldnt need the furance gui at all. and it would all be simpler. (would work like powercraft/buildcraft like stuff)
and does the fire last 2 days still. that seem long, one night or a night and a day should be fine for all camping needs.
great idea though. tents are great. i like the idea of 'camping' type mods a lot.
