It just doesn't make much sense to put gravel and redstone together to make a special explosion.

    Whatever.

    "make much sense"

    Neither does punching trees.

Theres an upside and a downside to this

Good: players will be able to use this in multiplayer and get more stuff done by getting resources easier.
Bad: Some players enjoy working for there stuff, when you actually WORK, instead of copy, or steal somthing, it has that feeling to it. Like your succesful.

You will have to work for this; it'll be very difficult to make, and needs a lot of fuel to clone expensive items.

You can just use an inventory editor. Look it up. They're really handy when your bored as hell on single player.

Tux, I think the point is that instead of functioning like TNT, it can blow apart everything BUT ores, making it easier to spot them. I'd like it, but I think the radius should be larger though.

    Yes.

Then dig down about 60 blocks...

    Find 4 diamond ores....

    Make a Nether Portal...

    Find Glowstone...

    Mine 9 Glowstone...

Go back and find 9 Steel...

    Make 3 Buckets...

    Find a cow...

    Find water...

    Find lava....

Find whatever it is you're trying to make...

    Get fuel....

Oh, but then? Totally unbalanced. I'm just suggesting this as a tool for people who've had the game for a while, and don't feel like scrounging around caverns for hours upon hours trying to find the ores to build something, when they're just a biiiiit short of their goal.

The whole point of this is that it's NOT something someone can just grab from a deserted island, it's a project that takes a long time to get together.

    Quote from DarkJet7

As of 1.6 we now have maps which are great, but unfortunately they have a limited amount of space that they can map(no pun intended) so what if we could create a table that allows you to put multiple maps on, so you can see a much larger area at once. Think of it as a jigsaw board, and the maps are the jigsaw pieces.

Difficult to implement, but I would be happy to see it made.

    Ask yourself...

    Is your suggestion BALANCED?

    http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/336517-the-balance-of-minecraft/

Yes, I'd say having to mow through 64 chunks of Cobblestone for a measly 8 gold (Which you need to have 1 bar of to start with anyway), is fairly balanced. It's not something just anyone would be able to make from the start of the game, obviously.

Do me a favor. Search Team Avolition and tell me they would not take full advantage of this.

Notch could make volatile materials such as TNT or Sulphur uncloneable, maybe?

    Quote from Kira

Yeah, because most MMO's employ these systems ON PURPOSE to make the player of the game feel like they are accomplishing more than they think they are. Having lots of numbers everywhere and plenty of levels and stats to boost tends to give you a sense of accomplishment while you waste your time increasing them. It makes for good sales and increases the amount of time spent playing.

To be completely fair, it's not like Minecraft doesn't do the same exact thing. In the end, you accomplish quite literally nothing, but continue playing because you feel that you are.

People said the same thing about buckets, so they were deactivated in SMP for a long time, remember? Plus, I doubt a griefer would just pull 4 diamond, kill several slimes, and get lava fast enough for the grief to be satisfactory.

Great idea; also, to limit the way the Mazeworld would kinda...lose you, it could be made that rather than extending the distance traveled like the Nether, it would actually become less, so that if a player truly gets lost, they could just make another portal, and find themselves a few feet away from the other one they made.

    New idea: The Matter Synthesizer.

While playing Minecraft, I found myself always needing more and more gold, it was just too rare. I was overflowing with practically everything else, but the world was just evil about giving me gold; so I had an idea. Why not make a type of block that can convert materials? The crafting ingredients would be something like: Lava Bucket, Water Bucket, Slime Bucket (New use for slimeballs), Milk Bucket, 4 Diamonds, and 1 Glowstone block. Combining these, one would make something akin to an advanced workbench, where it would be possible to convert materials into other materials (providing that they are introduced.)

So, should the person want to produce, say, more gold, they would place a gold ingot into slot A, place 64 Cobblestone into slot B, and receive 8 Gold Ingots in return. Thoughts?
