I was just wondering if anyone had an old version of MCP (more specifically, v6.2) because the MCP website is migrating and they currently only have the 3 latest versions listed. Would be really helpful.
Cool idea, I have a fairly complex (not huge) mod that me and a few others have been working on, and I could add some of these to the mod (like the tools, armor, bow, not quite sure about the enchant table or the nether versions of ores since that already exists, and the factions part), and of course credit you. PM me if interested.
Then how do other mods accomplish it? I mean, for example, the extra utilities microblocks has like 4 different microblocks for every block (examples: pipe jacket, fences, walls, and not to mention all the different color frequencies of some blocks), meaning the cap is brought down to less than 1024 blocks. But it still works, with the ~500 in vanilla, and ~2000 more from all the other mods.
I'm trying to add a feature to my mod where it takes every block registered, overlays a semi-transparent texture on that, and then registers a corresponding block. I know this is possible; some examples of similar implementations would be extra utilities (microblocks), ae2 (cable facades), and buildcraft (facades). I'm fairly new to modding, so I can't really look at other people's code and make much sense of it.
Hey there, I would just like to pop by and say that I definitely like this idea. That being said, would you like to help with my mod? It's pretty much the same idea as yours, a collection of useful ideas from myself and others. I mean, it's up to you, but I would love it if you could help work on it too. Plus, the benefits of putting everything in the same mod includes compatibility, and I already have a fair bit of content plus a few other mods with a lot of content too. Also, one of my mods (Explosives++) is fairly popular, so by merging that in as well, it might help give this a fair push towards fame. I also apologize if the previous didn't make much sense, please try and understand what I'm trying to say.
P.S I'm sorry if this sounds like a shameless self plug, if anything I say doesn't make sense, please tell me and I will be glad to explain.
I can't seem to find a good tutorial for these subjects, they are all either too outdated, too hard to follow, or are in video format. A helpful pointer towards a good one would be appreciated.
This mod is still a work in progress, meaning it doesn't have everything implemented as planned, and that it probably has tons of localization problems, broken recipes, missing/unobtainable items, bugs, and hidden ninja attacks. Please keep that in mind when looking at the following, and don't forget to back up your save if you do use this mod in any important world.
This mod isn't specific to any theme; it's an enormous collection of stuff that expands on top of the minecraft experience. There's lots of stuff planned, so I'm going to release about a dozen new items/block/mobs per BETA update. If you have any ideas for anything, I would appreciate some feedback, and please do tell me if there are any bugs.
This is also sort of a community ideas mod, so submit ideas you want made into this mod!

Unobtainium Hoe - Just because I can
Molybdenum Rod - For future recipies
Other changes:
Fixed bug with ore spawning
Added recipe for iron rod
Summary: 6 new items
This was mostly a huge update on the code; however, now that the API is in place with this update, you can look forward to tons more materials (Molybdenum, Tungsten, and Zirconium are a few examples of stuff that is coming in the next few updates! )
I'm trying to make a mod with a lot of items and blocks, ranging from ores to decoration blocks, and I need someone to help make textures because my textures are absolutely horrible. If you want to help, add me on Skype (minerguy31) and I'll tell you when I need a texture done.
Can you tell me what version of forge you use(And no ambiguous "Forge 1.8, duh" please)? I'm pretty sure it has its own jar, at least as of Forge 11.14.0.1290. Maybe it was changed in a later release, I'm not sure.
Well, first off it's not a forge mod, and second of all you can edit your minecraft.jar without worrying, and if you mess something up just delete it and minecraft automatically reinstalls it. Also, in case you didn't know, you actually have a minecraft.jar for each version you have in your launcher, and Forge itself is technically a huge base edit (and it has its own seperate minecraft.jar), so if you wanted, I could give you a forge jar with the mod installed in it.

I could do this for 1.7.10 if you wanted. Not so sure about 1.8 though.

I am a real human typing this with my real human hands.

Same here, I have a fairly big mod (still heavily WIP though) that I could try to add these features too. PM me if you're interested.

Hmm, I see. I'll work on a Forge version, but that may take a while since I'm not that acquainted yet.
