Hello! Welcome to the forums! Yes, you have posted in the correct section!

I'm a little short on time, but I can tell you two things quickly:

Make sure it is in the same file structure as if you opened up the .JAR.
For example: when you open up your texture pack .ZIP you will see something like this (you do not need these, only include what you've changed):

All mobs should go within \mob.

Also, all of the images should be .PNGs.
All of the files and folders need exactly the same name as they do in the .JAR. spaces will make them not work, and I think capitalization will ruin them, too.

    "\mob \cow.png" <--wrong

something that simple could mess it up. So check.

    Hope this helps :biggrin.gif:

uh... i don't Know how to put images so I'll put a link

anyways, mine looks simmilar to the picture you showed me...
    maybe that's not the problem..

oh and the files are from the minecraft.jar. I just changed some of it with Photoshop

(I wonder if it is okay to ask this here...)
Well, I just registered today because i wanted to ask you some questions
I've been trying to make a texture pack, but there is a problem.

The thing is, even if I change the files, only the terrain file and particles file works.
(I'm not American, so it might sound a little strange...)

For example, if I change the files (ex. cow-> Black, Chicken-> Brown),
make it into a zip file, put it in the texture packs folder,
and run minecraft, it isn't changed, and is the normal color and form.

not only these, but also other files in the folders does not change.

By the way, I tried using the Minecraft Texture pack Editor (MTE)
to do it, and it Worked, but I'm unable to fix some files because they're not in the option (Sounds strange....Sorry)

Can someone help me fix this problem?
Or, can you tell me how to make a texture pack?
