All downloads should work now. Again, sorry for the delay - these maps have been out for well over a year and I stopped supporting them for a while. They should work now.

"You plummet through icy water, until you hit a smooth metallic surface. You gasp for air, and as your eyes adjust you see a long corridor. Beneath your fingers you feel the familiar fabric of a test-subject's jumpsuit, and know the number on yours reads '1090.'

Its time to get out of here."

Escrapecraft 3 is the third installment of the Escapecraft series. This version features dozens of rooms, 2 endings, a custom texture pack and even more devious puzzles from everyone's favorite villain - Herobrine.

Those familiar with my previous games (click here for the first, and here for the second) will know the drill. There is a short tutorial room to explain the rules and demonstrate new mechanics (there are several).

    DOWNLOAD!
(Wait five seconds and click SKIP AD)

OR DONATE AND SKIP THE ADS!

Thanks to you all's support, EC1, 2 and 3 have been downloaded more than 1,500,000 times!
Be sure to check out Escapecraft Dual and help build Heroblock City!

Using the included texture pack is STRONGLY recommended!!! Several puzzles are designed with it in mind, and certain secret areas are only accessible to those with the pack!

For those who prefer a HD texture pack for the EscapeCraft experience, one of our fans graciously put one together. Links and instructions may be found here, and video of the pack may be found (Note: this texture pack is not supported by the EC3 staff).

SPECIAL THANKS TO: MrScaryMuffin (who made the game with me), Fish (the texture pack guy), TheWiz, SWEETNESS_IB, yowto, berky93, TurtleeyMC, Mooseeeeey, User, Wookie4747, XxJT713xX, Sealystar, Drsaz, Nate V, and all the others who helped test!

Some users have reported very low framerates while playing on laptops or PCs with certain configurations. This is due to the use of certain types of circuits for some of the puzzles. This issue should be resolved with the latest version, but please leave a comment if you still experience lag.

    Installation:
    - Download the file. Unzip it (but NOT the 2 .zip files in it)
    - Open Minecraft. Click the "Mods and Textures" button.
    - Click "Open the Mods and Textures Folder"
    - Drop the "EC3 Textures" .zip file in the folder that opens. DO NOT UNZIP IT!
    - Go "up" one folder (to the .minecraft folder). Then head to the "saves" folder.
    - Drop the Escapecraft v. # .zip in the folder that opens and unzip it.
    - Finally, in Minecraft select the EC3 Texture Pack under Mods and Textures.
    - Open EscapeCraft3 and enjoy!

    FAQ
Q: The texture pack is causing Minecraft to crash!! Help!
A: This is usually because you are using MCPatcher, HD Texture Pack or a similar utility. You can either use the HD texture pack (here) or delete your .bin file - which will cause Minecraft to download a new one.

Q: This map has a LOT of lag!!! Help!!!
A: This is a problem on many lower-end computer and most laptops. Please use the low framerate version.

Q: I'm back in the mirror room (but on the top of the mirror) where do I go now?
A: Head back to the "failing sand" room. You can use your new item to unlock a new area!

Q: I'm back in the Door room - where do I go now?
A: Head back to the "lava pillar" room. You can use your new item to unlock a new area!

"You awaken with a head-ache in an oddly familiar room. You are wearing a jumpsuit with the number 1090 printed across your chest. As a chill races down your spine, you search for the exit..."

Escapecraft 2 is the second installment of the Escapecraft series (oh yes, there will be more). This version features more than a dozen new rooms-o-puzzles, 2 different endings, 50% less rage-quit, functional respawn, minimal game-ending failure penalties and more corny videogame-clichés than you can shake a stack of 64 sticks at!

Those who played the first game (found here) know the drill. For those new to my devious inventions, I have included a short tutorial room.

As anyone who has ever tried to create something this complicated in Minecraft could tell you, Escapecraft 2 required HOURS upon HOURS of development time before it was fit to release. This meant time away from schoolwork and the minimum-wage job that helps pay for my graduate education. If you enjoyed the game, please drop a dollar/euro/yen/wooden nickel in this digital tip-jar. More donations means more time I can spend away from waiting tables at the bowling alley and more time spent making Escapecraft 3!

There are two download links. The first will take you to a Paypal page, where you pay $0.50 and get the game. The second download link below will take you to an advertisement, followed by the download page.

Thanks for reading! Now without further ado...

SPECIAL THANKS TO: Emily, yowto, TheWiz, and berky93 for their INCREDIBLE assistance testing and retesting this new game! They selflessly spent hours of their time covering my idiotic mistakes. Without them, Escapecraft 2 would never have been finished.

    Installation:
    - Download file and unzip to your minecraft folder (on Windows 7, go to C: -> Users -> *USERNAME* -> AppData -> Roaming -> .minecraft -> saves )
    - Rename folder "World#" (where '#' is a number 1-5). If you already have 5 worlds, you will need to rename one of the existing save folders.
    - I recommend creating a additional backup folder, in the all-too-likely event of your death.

    Known Problems:
    - Since there is no manual save feature in Minecraft, under certain circumstances (you lose items due to death) you may have to manually reinstall Escapecraft and start over.

    Walkthrough

MrScaryMuffin, in addition to volunteering to work on EscapeCraft 3, has also provided a very helpful and occasionally hilarious walkthrough video that is almost certainly more helpful than my walkthrough "hints." Obviously, MAJOR spoilers in the video - if you are just looking for a little bit of help, I recommend the more vaguely worded hints that follow. For "OMG IM COMPLETELY STUCK WHY DID YOU MAKE THIS STUPID GAME" sort of assistance, use the video. (Also note that he uses some... unorthodox methods and goes some places I didn't really mean for you to).

    5Z3QZLJnWFo

    Room 0-1
    Pull the switch.

    Room 2
    Check the floor... carefully...
Use the items to redirect the flow of water.

    Room 3
What can you make with those two items?
Okay, nothing... what can you do to that gravel?
    YAY! FIRE!

    Room 4
In case you forgot... look at the sign above the entrance door.

    Room 5
Read all the signs carefully. You need to find a way to get the water to the middle slot.
In Minecraft, water pours down until it hits a block, then it flows sideways in all directions unless it is blocked by a higher block (and then stops) or it reaches an edge (and drops down again).

    Room 6
You need to activate a switch in each tower to open the door at the end of the maze.
When you find a tower, look carefully at the maze below you. If necessary, use a pad and pencil to sketch what you see.

    Room 7
Okay, you have a big redstone puzzle... try to trace the path back from the door you need to open and see where you need to place the torches/redstone wire
Three blocks in a straight line with a torch on top of the two end blocks is an "AND" gate. You need to have and active wire leading to each end to turn it "on" and output an active wire on the other side.
If you are really stuck, check the Minecraft wiki hereto learn more about redstone.

    Room 8
Hmm... not going to be able to do much with all that water in there... Where is it coming from?
Look around. Are there any items you can use?
What can be made from STICKS that can block water?
I take ofFENCE to people who don't at least look up the schematics section on the wiki to see if there are other options than making ladders...
Once you have the water under control, look around for another hiding place. You need something to open that door... perhaps some redstone concealed in a container...

    Room 9
Make SURE you have the difficulty set to easy...
The signs says BREAK... so do it!
Creepers and sand... what to do with creepers and sand...

    Room 10-13 (Rooftops and observation)
MAKE SURE YOU TURN THE DIFFICULTY MAKE TO PEACEFUL!!!!
Okay, that's a cannon. It launches ANYTHING you put on the pressure plate.
What might YOU want to move from this roof to the next...
And how would you survive? Look in all the observation rooms.

    Room 14
Just continue to the ending... or is it the end? I wonder if there was another ending if you'd made different choices earlier on...

    Version History
    1.0 - First public release
1.1 - Fixed the redstone room so players cannot escape to the outside.
1.2 - Minor bug fixes. Improvements to the "Secret Ending" that allude to Escapecraft 3...

    Escape."

Escapecraft is a room-escape puzzle game, Minecraft-style! Decipher clues, solve riddles, exploit the idiosyncratic physics of everyone's favorite game!

This is a "teaser" to gauge the communities interest. Game includes a dozen levels, and should require no more than 2 hours of game play (assuming you don't die and have to start over repeatedly). If you know all the answers to the puzzles, you can rush through in about 20 minutes.

Successful completion of the game requires a thorough knowledge of the mechanics of Minecraft (redstone, water, etc). Familiarity with the game's history will help you understand some of the jokes, but is not strictly required. Fair warning - the later levels may be very difficult.

    Rules:
    - Don't break blocks unless you place them.
    - Difficulty must be set to Normal or Hard
    - No cheats

There are two download links. The first will take you to a Paypal page, where you pay $0.50 and get the game. The second download link below will take you to an advertisement, followed by the download page.

Let me know what you think! Would you like to see more? Ideas for a sequel? Think you have a better puzzle idea?

    Also check out EscapeCraft2!

After a couple requests, I've decided to add an option for you all to donate. I'm a grad student at an expensive private university who pays for school by working 40 hours a week at the local bowling alley making minimum wage. In all honesty, making this little mod has been the most fun I've had in months. Every $7 I get through this is an hour I don't have to spend disinfecting shoes and can therefore spend making cool stuff for you (like new levels). If you have enjoyed this, drop a dollar in the tip jar.

    - Despite my best efforts, the spawn location is in the wrong place. If you die, its game over. (I would appreciate someone fixing this!)
    - Since there is no manual save feature in Minecraft, if you die you must manually reinstall Escapecraft and start over.
    - Occassionally, a mob will spawn in unintended locations (likely due to the Halloween Update).

    Walkthrough

    Room 1
An iron door can only be opened with redstone, a switch, a pressure plate or...
    ...a button

    Room 2
No buttons or switches, so you'll need a way to open the door yourself...
    Check the floor... carefully...
Now what can you make with 2 cobble, coal and...
    a FURNACE!

    Room 3
    Again, check the floor. Carefully

    Room 4
What can you make with 3 iron? What do you need to make it? How can that help you get past lava?

    Room 5
    Water is your friend

    Room 6
    You need LOTS of water...
Now do the previous room in reverse.

    Room 7
    You need to setup 2 equations - x + y = 10 and x^2 + y^2 = 29*2
Then solve for x in the first equation, and insert it into the second
    (10-y)^2 + y^2 = 58
The answer is 3 and 7... you cheater

    Room 8
Well, there are a lot of paintings... look at them and AROUND them.
    What does a button to?
    Where might the door be?
If you are still stuck, there are 3 doors in this room. 2 are necessary to move on, the other is bonus.

    Room 9
I used glass for a reason. Look through carefully. Oh, and you CAN activate TNT, that's not cheating.
When TNT is activated, it falls and explodes. But that will blow a hole in the floor beneath you! Unless...
Water prevents TNT from damaging things. Its handy that way.

    Room 10
No easy way to explain this - follow the redstone!
2 paths lead to TNT. Don't connect those.
I gave you 2 redstone for a reason... Might need to activate 2 paths...

    Room 11
Be VERY careful in this room - that's a LOT of TNT
You need to know which path to travel. Look carefully in the previous room...
    Try looking at the ceiling...
    Backward "C"

    Room 12
No special tricks here - you need to fight your way through! Bonus items from previous rooms will prove VERY helpful here.

    Room 13
Dig dig dig... but not TOO far. Go slow.

    Version History
    - Fixed room 9. Should have fewer random spawns and goofy TNT drops.
