Ah, so I have found that I don't even need gameRegistry for items. Not sure why it didn't error before though. Oh well, it works now!
What I find strange about this is I used GameRegistry for all my items, and I didn't have a problem, i checked yours against mine and I couldn't find a difference that would explain the crash...
I made a simple path-finding AI based on the AStar method for path finding, and made a time-lapse of me making it:
The path finder can only move up, down, left, or right, which means no diagonals. Any feedback would be appreciated.
There is a download and instructions in the description of the video.
Just something I made playing around with concepts for a calculator.
I'm not sure how over complicated I made this, but I really like it because it actually shifts the numbers over as you enter a new one. Sorry I can't provide a download, the world is on a server.
Any updates? I'm interested in possibly using this texture pack in a Youtube show I'm starting.
None so far, there will be more, but the makers (my friend and I) are two high school students and the amount of free time we have to work on this varies a lot, and we like putting out updates where we got a lot done, sorry. It would be great if you could possibly show it off as a WIP texture pack though!
I've been wanting to get back into modding but I didn't really want to get stuck down with one mod again, because I really ran out of inspiration to work on all of my previous mods, so instead I decided to try out an idea I had. If this has a positive response then I will continue doing it.
How this is going to work:
Each week or so I will make a small modification to Minecraft, and then it will be up to the community to figure out what the modification was. The modification could be something really small, or something really big, and I will give out a hint to help people get started on the search. The first person to respond with a comment stating what the change did (I don't mean like code specifics, just what's different about the game), and with a picture to prove it (to avoid people just guessing) will win for the week and their username will be listed in this post. I realize that you could just look in the files you downloaded and figure it out that way from the code, but where's the fun in that?
Also I have not decided yet, but I may make tutorials describing how I made each modification and put them on my youtube channel.
Note: I do not recommend using these on previous worlds that you care about, and I'm not responsible for any damages caused to your saves.
Hopefully you know how to install a mod at this point but just in case, How to Install:
Open minecraft.jar, rather than tell you how to find this by specific operating system, just open Minecraft, go to texturepacks, and click open texturepack folder, then close Minecraft (mods cannot be installed if minecraft is open). From there, go up a folder (you should now be in .minecraft), then go to the bin folder. Inside of your bin folder there will be a minecraft.jar, open it with an archive tool that can open jar files.
Unzip the downloaded mod file, then put the files from the now unzipped folder into minecraft.jar
Make sure you delete the meta-inf folder from minecraft.jar
Run Minecraft.
I realize that mods are supposed to have pictures, but that would kind of defeat the purpose of my entire idea, if you're worried that you're downloading a virus, just look and see how many posts I have, as well as my reputation, if you still think this is a virus, oh well.
If you have an idea that you'd like to see done as one of the mods for later in this competition, pm me your idea and if I do it I'll give credit to you (I don't want people to be getting answers if you'd posted it as a comment)

yes, when you set up the renderer for the mob just use the renderer for the mob's model you want to use, and change the texture in the entity file

After we finish all of the texture we might, we haven't decided how much work we want to put into this yet.

Added a lot of items and changed a few slightly, barely started work on the blocks.
