I am very interested in dreams and dream meaning, and I would like to know how does the game affect your dreams. You can also tell a little about your dream with minecraft (I am sure they are interesting and creative!)
When you sleep, after about 30 minutes, you enter REM, which is rapid eye movement. In this time you have dreams.
You think it is a 6-8 hour dream, but it isn't. It is multiple dreams.

except that we don't only dream during REM sleep you can have dreams during ANY stage of your sleep (scientifically demonstrated)
I had a dream where I woke up, brushed my teeth, then screamed loudly in the mirror, waking up in my bed, was scared to go into my bathroom, walked into the front room, saw the mirror and screamed loudly.... there was no reflections in the mirrors both times
are you sure that you worked things out with your friend/ almost boyfriend? to me it seems that you still feel that there is something that might be bothering you
it may be that you are not happy or satisfied with the fact that he does not like you the way you like him, and this "let's just be friends" is actually hurting you. Is it hurting you? ask yourself that.
if he is out of reach (it seems, since he has a girlfriend), you may wanna let it go and get in love with somebody else, specially if you have more of this dreams
and you should observe that meaning and function are different stuff. Scientists are still trying to figure out if dreams have functions (memory processing, this kind of thing)
anyways, for me it is clear that dreams have meaning, especially the ones that you feel the most (and remember)
moving while sleeping is not unusual, and the girl in your dream knew your name because she was made up by your mind, so, if you know your own name, any character in your dream may know as well, no surprises here
truly speaking, you are the only one who can tell the meaning of your dream, because you are the one who knows yourself better.
and also, yes, the objects and elements that appear in your dreams are made up by your mind, so of course they come from your memories and it is likely that the videogames and movies that you watch will influence the objects that appear. This does not necessarily make your dream an irrelevant random joining of memories.
you can start by asking yourself how did you feel during the dream, why was your brother with you, how was the relationship with your brother by the time you had the dream, who could be the woman? some representation of a real woman in your life? why was your brother able to talk to her while you could not? how did you feel about that? why did you wanna be friends with the woman?

it is just that dreams for normal people (not like me) are usually more vivid and easy to remember in some stages of sleep
you probably only remember a piece of your dream, it does not mean that you had a 5 minute dream for 8 hours....
