What line? The line you just made up that doesn't actually exist anywhere?

There is nothing "zanny" about zombies...Suicidal monsters...Dragons...Poisonous spiders...

If you don't think it fits, that's fine. But don't make up BS about "lines" and how the mobs are meant to be zany.

    *facepalm*
Ok, I'm not going to argue about this. All I wanted to say is that all the mobs in minecraft have yes been scary, but people are able to laugh and feel that fun sense of a video game with them in it. Personally, and this is me, having these crawling zombie torsos is disturbing that feeling, and adding more scare than fun.
But as I said, I'm not going to argue, and if you think zombie torsos should be added, that's fine.

Minecraft isn't about silly. Who gives a damn if it is scary? Things are scary. Zombies are sure as hell scary. Suicide bombers too.

I'm not saying that. What I'm trying to say is that all of the mobs in minecraft have been zanny to a point. It's the way the game shows them. Having crawling zombie torsos just crosses the line, and personally, just doesn't really fit in.

EDIT: However, I'm fine with it being in adventure mode. That scared and trying to explore feeling is what adventure mode resembles, and zombie torsos would probably be at home there.

I think the problem is this:

Zombie: A very common enemy in a variety of games.
    Skeleton: Classic scary monster.
    Creeper: Silly Minecraft thing.
    Spider: Another classic monster.
Zombie torso: MY LEGS WERE HACKED OFF BY A BANDSAW AARGHHH THE AGONY AAAAAARHGRHRH

Agreed 100%. If you can find some silly kind of way to explain the zombie not having legs (or even call it something else, and show it differently), then it will probably gain more acceptance. At the moment, it is still a bit scary thought, and minecraft isn't about the 'scary' side of gaming; rather, the creative side.

Interesting concept, but I agree that it doesn't fit very well.

Perhaps a player golem? This would make more sense, fitting alongside the snow and iron golems.

    Hmm, intersting idea.
How about using the armour (such as steel leggings, steel chestplate, etc), with a pumkin (or something) on top. Haha. The only downside here is that it would be quite expensive to make more than one (unless, that is, if you think that making too many should be a hard thing)

Edit: I mean, there's really heaps of ways this 'mob' could be spawned. Through eggs, the method mentioned above, potion, or maybe having a chance of spawning one if you died (if you're holding onto some kind of item. But I guess people don't want a reason to actually want to be killed).

The point here is, whether the clone itself would fit into the game?

    I support! A great idea.
With what AnimeMiner said, villagers should actually 'let you in' if your reputation is high, and possibly allow you to take what you want/need from their chests.
On a flip side, they may choose to hide/lock up their chests if you continually steal from them.

posted a message on Clone Potion?
Hi guys, my suggestions is to have some sort of potion, (maybe using a single gold nugget, or gold ignot), which spawns a cloned version of yourself.

Now, he may do stuff like, walk around, interact with items, and maybe just have a bit of fun. Or, for a bit of intellegence, he may be able to help you, such as; if you gave him a pickaxe, and started mineing a block, he might come and aid you. Or, you if you set out the frame for a house, he may help build the walls up?

On the flip, if you continuously attack him and/or leave him trapped, etc; he may become angry. He then might possibly attack you, look through your chests, etc. (But he should only become agressive on harder difficulties. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to get rid of them)

The final part of this, is that he may also get attacked by mobs, leaving him as a possible distraction, while you escape. (Hey, this might even make him angry?)

Thanks guys, I hope this is idea is ok :)

Maybe not a 'new' mob, but rather, a normal zombie has the chance to turn into one of these when you kill it? Or better yet, attack its legs?

EDIT: There should be a setting for 'scary parts' such as this. And yes, have it ONLY in adventure mode

    Quote from Zukaro

I think it'd be nice if water had realistic physics. For example, lets say I'm at the bottom of the ocean but underground and I dig up. Everything would flood as the ocean contains tons of water (if my base was somehow as big as the ocean or lake then the ocean/lake would drain).

As for waterfalls and stuff where water is used in decoration; a water pump block could be added and then connected with pipes to wherever you need it to go (which personally, I'd like a lot if there were pipes and such as it'd add a whole new element to the game and make redstone easier to use with water, etc).

    Yes and yes!!!
That's a great idea to improve water physics where, if you dig up, into an ocean, then the water would continue to pour down, until either: your base is full of water, the water runs out, or you block the hole again.
As for the pipes, I think they're possible as well. To be able to transport water from the local river or something, into your house where it may be used to put out fires, or attached to pour a continuous stream onto a large pool of lava.

posted a message on Minecraft Classic Multiplayer Server not connecting?
    Hello.

I get this is error sometimes when I try to connect with a server. If I like the server I normally add it to my favourites. So, I can easily find it again. And this does work.
Anywaym back on topic, When I try to connect to a server, it sometimes doesn't even show the 'connecting' screen and instead goes to 'generating'. From here, it enters single-player mode.

If anyone know how to stop this happening, it would be much appreciated... :Skeleton:
