This thread is pretty old, but I just gotta say I love this server! They don't put any restrictions on how the game is played, it's all just pure uncut vanilla.
Also, the IP in this thread is outdated. It's now MC-L.NET
So I play on an anarchy server regularly, and I often have problems organizing my set homes, because there are a lot of raided bases and intact bases, and I can never remember where each of my homes are exactly located. So as a solution, I wrote a software that organizes all those homes and puts them on a map, so I know where everything is.
If you have trouble remembering where your buildings are
Have a million unorganized set homes
Like maps and think they are cool
Then this software is for you!
This software is not mac compatible but can be run on mac using wine bottler
Now combine all of these into one, a map where all the biomes are in. In default there are random biomes interlocking. Make that.
Unlike superflats with biomes set to them like I have up here, I can't exactly make them infinite. I can flatten out a normal world up to a good 10K radius, if you think that would be enough for your map. Then maybe have a bedrock wall generate, or map makers can put in the new world borders and set them to 10K.
I have also been messing around with customized world presets, and trying to figure out how to make a normal world generate flat. So far, I have something going, but I can't make it 100% flat. Yet.
I used to not know how to craft tools or anything, so I would just collect stacks of dirt, make towers to the top of the sky, fall off, repeat.
Eventually, I made enough to make a platform. I could only do it if they were in a close enough proximity to each other that I could reach it, because I didn't know how to shift click, so I couldn't make bridges.
As a noob on a server? I only played on an anarchy server. I let someone into my base, and they attacked and griefed Doorknobia. It's a pretty nooby move on an anarchy server.
I made something similar to what was suggested here, the only problem being that they can only be one biome. It would be nice if they could generate naturally like that though.
Map makers:
Are you tired of having to decorate the superflat landscape on your custom map, or having to get rid of mountains or trees in the way of your map on a default world?
This world pack is for you.
It is a collection of superflat maps with various biomes included. These maps are fully playable, and include mineshafts, strongholds, dungeons, ores, and various structures, mob spawns, and natural decorations.
These levels can be played in survival mode just for the hell of it, as well. (Except maybe the ones without trees and food.) They are free to use by anyone, for anything.
This map is a superflat I made, which by mistake generated with chunk problems everywhere.
Strangely enough, it generated everything in a pre 1.7 style, even though it was made in 1.7
People can do whatever they want in it. Outside of the chunk failures, there is a superflat world, that is a glass floor with a drop to bedrock. It generates floating mineshafts, sandstone villages, desert temples, and floating strongholds.
The reason they made the generation more flat, was because it made it more difficult for villages/other above ground structures to spawn, but if they had special biomes that generated the way they would before 1.8 and some the way they would in modern minecraft, that would be cool.
if i can make a suggestion, it would be great it there was an option to edit which structures generate where. i always hated how bland oceans are. nether fortresses will spice em up
i have a suggestion for a mod. if you could make something just like the mob spawn controls gui, but controls the structures that can generate per biome/dimension, and is used before creating the world this way there could be things like villages or nether fortresses in the end, or obsidian pillars in the overworld, that would be epic. this would be useful for people who spawn in caves in the nether, or just think the obsidian pillars look cool. here's a pointless diamond.

Our server came together to mock ISIS by making them look stupid in this video. Enjoy!
