Fantastic. Will there be a PMC post as well for an alternative to having Discord open?
Yes, we plan to. For now the Discord will be quicker for you to get help & also some feedback on your textures & any critique that you want. But I do plan on putting a post on PMC that will be updated.
How often it will be updated? I don't know for now, but still.
IF YOU WANT TO KEEP UP TO DATE WITH THE NEW TEXTURING GUIDE, THEN GO HERE:Click Here
It will be updated there so that I can keep updating the guide after the Minecraft Forums becomes archived. The benefit of updating it there would be that you will have more people to help you with question on things that are not covered in the guide. I will have the link to the new (updated) guide in one of the Discord channels for you to constantly go back to, while there will still be a link back to this guide.
I am New to Minecraft but not to modding in general as I come from the "old school" Quake 3 engine modding communities. I really liked the guide was extremely helpful but did not answer some questions I had when the google search found this thread.
I am currently doing my very first texture pack for minecraft, initially it is for my own use, I may share it later but it's suited for the current build I am doing. I have done some research but I am looking for an illusive answer.
The questions I have are these: (and you may include them in your guide if you really wish it to be all-inclusive).
Can you include any differences in your guide for Bedrock version. Most are simple conversions, the odd file, different folders etc.
Redesigning textures is easy, simply following the naming and folder conventions already in place is simple enough and adding a mcmeta or in the case of Bedrock (manifest.json) to get the game to read your textures is pretty straightforward . What I would like to know is how or where the game is being told how to handle some textures. For example in Bedrock the image used to display the paintings is a large grid image (textures/painting/kz.png )(attached below is my version of the template to edit the paintings image) with all the painting mapped onto it. The game is being told which grid squares or image coordibates have the paintings in them. Is this hardcoded or through some scripting or json file? What if I want to add additional paintings in the white spaces to the file, what would I have to change for the game to reads them? Currently it ignores any additional images.
Thanks for your guide again and any help appreciated.

1. I do plan on having a guide to "converting"(?) a pack to Bedrock.
2. You can not have Vanilla Minecraft add additional paintings. Mods are the only way to add additional paintings in the game. I don't know if there is a way to add more paintings in Bedrock, because I have not messed with scripts in Bedrock. But that is something I plan on doing & trying out at a later date.
Hi there! You have a really nice tutorial!
However, I would like to have "Diminishing Tools", for example when they are at 100/300 durability, the texture will change to a more broken version.
Is there a way to do this?
Thanks anyways.
Thank you! I hope you are enjoying the tutorial & getting as much help as you can.
For your question, yes you can do that, BUT it will require you to know about how to edit item tags. The tag you are wanting for your problem is the tag:
"damage"
I am in the process of creating a guide for item & block model editing. You can find examples of this in other packs & more info about the item tags themselves on the wiki.
I am having an issue that I cannot for the life of me figure out. I have custom llama textures and they work just fine in 1.13 if I change the pack format number to 3, but when I change it to the 1.13 compatible number 4 the llama textures stop working. Everything else is fine except for the llamas and I dunno what the problem is. The Elytra item texture is back to default as well. If I could get some help that would be great!
🤔 I try to check out the problem
When I have time I will update the guide more to help create packs more & to update the texture list too
Well I do like the technical side of Minecraft so I do like making auto-farms & redstone magic! So if you would like stuff like that then I am ready for some fun. I do need a few servers/realms to escape to between my map making sessions
I am actually working on a vanilla mob arena in the Java version for people to play on their servers. (Vanilla maps, so no plugins nor mods required. All command blocks & datapacks) But that is a different story.
Also great with texture packs & other stuff like that if you want.
Discord is a free program, if that helps. But if you don't want it then it is fine. You can still post stuff here & people will still look & give feedback
I have never been good at Modding and Resources Packs.
I want to start making my Packs of Textures and Mods, and probably start in very little =)
Well we can help you with that! Check out the Discord server that I have linked above to get faster input & feedback
It is kinda easy to learn how to make a resource pack, but to make the resource pack can be more difficult.
I have some questions:
Will Steelfeathers come back?
Will this Mod be launched in this year or in the next?
Will this Mod be compatible with 1.13?
I hope this new Mod (:
Maybe
Don't know
Not for now, but it will

This pac is my clear favorite overall (after trying many others). Thank you so much!
It does so many things right and is a tremendous improvement in the look and feel of the game.
It is the base for some alterations I did, mostly sandstone, since I love to build with this material in creative.
MC release 1.13 adds another variant of sandstone blocks, which could be a motivation for me to try the new release.
Will Lithos:Core support the 1.13 version, eventually (I suppose Optifine will upgrade as well, which would be a prerequisite)?
Yes it will. Currently eleazzaar is on a family vacation, BUT he will update it soon.

Hello, I will probably start with praise, your creation is the best of everything that I saw, moderately animated, well-designed and bright, which is not a little important. But not everything is so rosy, for example, I do not understand why the sun is fine, and the moon has not changed, I certainly still put a fashion on the starry sky and he adds his luminaries, but still hurt for the moon. Many fashion are beautifully worked out, but why did you prefer not to do it immersive, although it is beautiful, geology, a mod that could also be supported, besides it is not great, the tinkers are also thrown on the floor, I wanted to know whether they will be like should be worked out or they are not interesting to you and you will not work on them?
The Tinkers' Construct mod support was started by me & I had stopped support for V1 of the mod & just continued Tinkers' Construct 2 mod support.
NOW, I have a ton of stop IRL that has made me stop working on the mod support for the pack in general. When I do have more time to work on stuff, I do plan on finishing TiCon2 mod support for the pack.
