Thanks but that is TOO flat. I want some hills and even mountains - just a village on (or near) a grassy plain. I want to build a fairly large home close to a village and already have one on a "sand world".
I have spent the whole day running around different worlds (seeds) looking for a semi-flat grassy *not picky" on which type - just not sand, jungle or snow.
I found 2 villages on one but neither one had a blacksmith shop!
I want to build a home - fairly close to a village - but on semi-flat area.
Does anyone know of a seed that sounds like what I am looking for? I HAVE tried some of the seeds listed above or in the forums.
I did it wrong and ended up falling all the way to the bottom of a large cavern. Not sure why I did Not die! But I lost most of the chest items in the blast.
How do YOU get the chests - or what is the best way to get to the chests without setting off the pressure plate?
I am running windows xp and will try the .minecraft - dot minecraft.
By load a map I want a map that shows the whole world - it is up in the right corner and shows villages etc. Hope that helps describe what I am looking for. Thanks for the replies and info,

I am on Peacefull while I build my home and decorate - then I go to a "mob" mode. While out gathering I don't want to get stuck somewhere at night and use my supplies to build a shelter etc. I want the freedom to build/create without mobs.
But I want some pale colors for my wool and decorating. I am building an adobe (sandstone) home and want the teal and light blue along with the brown wool. Southwestern colors (the red bed is going to have to be worked around lol).
Too bad "we" don't have the ability to get bone from killing cows, pigs or chickens......OR a way to add another white wool to a dark blue to get the lighter color.....
I am building a new home and need bone meal for pale colored wool. I know that some of the mine chests have bone - is there any other way to get some bone?

I have done a search and have NO minecraft folder on my PC. How is this possible? Do I need to create one?
If this is in the incorrect forum please move it.....
2) Why does the launcher have "Texture Pack" option BUT you have to use a non-minecraft program to load texture(s) packs?
3) I would also like to load a map. I had a super map before my PC crashed and I lost all of my old games.
Thanks!

I am female LOL
- thanks for the feedback.
String is also something that is hard to get - SHOULD be able to make from wool - duh.....
To me all items that are required for crafting should be available - someway - in peaceful. So one can decorate and build - THEN hunt.

When I go into the texture area it tells me I have NO texture packs in/on file?
What am I missing - is there somewhere I can Really loac mcpatcher? DO I need this to get a texture pack?
Why does Minecraft offer this as an option BUT says that MCPatcher is not endorsed or something like that?
