The flist bot takes resources, and this allows the server to decide when to update stuff, instead of once in a while.

You are technically in a network(and if you have a router at home, that makes it a network in a network).
ISP is too cheap to buy IPs.
You need to find a way to connect to the router, and make it port forward.
If you have a home router, you need to find out it's IP.
Basically, it's like the standard connection but the router is yours, or this ungodly setup shown below:
Internet.

ISP Router

Inside of streets and stuff.

Home Router

Cables in your house.

It is a server script. The core is still vanilla, you just get automation of some tasks, like doublebanning and IRC.
