I have to agree with Leaf... With the development Cubic Chunks slowing down/stopping, there is almost nothing interesting happening with minecraft these days.
Thank you Robinton for your work on CC and I hope that somebody will continue to carry the torch you lit with CC.
I hardly ever play minecraft anymore. I rarely check the forums, and I was here back when ymod was still up to date. Sadly, it looks like Robinton hasn't posted in a while. This was the only thread in the entire forum I checked concistently. Its usually the reason I even get on here anymore. I'm just posting this to say:
Robinton, if you still read this thread, keep up the good work. Your hieght mod is the only reason I even care about Minecraft anymore. I've watched this thread since it only had 5 pages. I hope that you will keep this mod going. It would be sad to see it die like ymod did.
This is exactly how I feel and I agree completely!!!
Great Troubleshooting info, thanks! Yeah, the current mc1.0.0 Test versions of Cubic Chunks are not yet as functional as the CC versions for older versions of Minecraft are, so please don't judge Cubic Chunks total developement based on that, it's merely an updating issue (mc 1.0.0 was a huge change from earlier beta versions).
Thanks for all of that info! And also for the Spout Team's friendly responses here and in the Spout forum. :smile.gif:
MineCrak, I figured it was just a bug but wanted to see if anybody else had seen it yet. I do judge CC based on what has happend prior, however it is IMPOSSIBLE NOT to see the potential and the amazing job that both Robinton, yourself and all other contributors have done! If there is anything that I can do to help assist please let me know.
Holy Crap!!! First off I want to say "THANK YOU ROBINTON FOR THE AWESOME MOD!!!!" This is exactly the kind of mod that we need for Minecraft as one of the few remaining issues with the vanilla game is the height restrictions. To this effect I have setup a server and installed cubic chunks on top of it.
This works GREAT for the spawn area +/- ~250-550 blocks on the x/z axes, however when you this that range sometimes you will come to an edge of the world that goes dark... When this happens there are very few chunks that will go beyond this edge. You can then follow this edge around the whole map and back to where you started walking around the world... There are no error files that are being listed by this. Something else that I noticed is that if the world edge is at +63 then at +34 to +64(this all being on one of the axes) you can only place blocks, not remove ANY. This happens to anybody even the OPS on the server.
Not sure if this is something other's have run into... but it would be nice to see if this can be sorted out while we wait for a 1.2 release.
-Server is 1.0.1 WITH META-INF still there.
-Patched using V1.5.4_T5_MC1.0.0_Server.zip - I have not had a chance to look for a 1.0.0 server, but I'm pretty sure that I saw that the server is compatable with 1.0.1
-I have tried this both with McMyAdmin and without it. Issue is present both ways.
-Tried server files on a different computer running 64bit instead of 32 bit, issue persists.
-Issue occurs with any per-defined world seed OR randomly generated seed
-Client config is 1.0.0
-Patched with modloader according to MineCrack's thread.
-Only contains 1.5.4 for client
-When running a SSP game this issue does not appear to be present.
-No other mods are installed on either the server or the client.
If you guys need/want more information let me know and I'm more than willing to answer if possible. I look forward to the day where CC is a standard mod or part of Vanilla for all Minecrafter's to enjoy!
It would be nice, and if it was a mod, I'd get it, but as it stands it's better to be over prepared if you're about to do some cave exploring with 2-3 picks and 2 shovels than to just hope the one you're using will last.
Ultimately this is to be used with an repair mod so that when the tool is about to break I can repair it at the ideal time to get the most out of it.
I was thinking that it would be really useful to know exactly how many uses remain on tools that have a durability stat. I was thinking of just a small number in the upper right corner of the item's icon or possibly something added in the hud.
As stated in the first post I dont really play SMP and dont test how my mods will behave when someone is playing SMP. But as far as i know you just drop and pick your stuff back up to repair it in SMP unless that bug was fixed with last update.
-edit-
If someone DOES find bugs with how they effect SMP feel free to post those bugs here and i will make a note of them in the mod description. Im just not gonna playtest it myself. Willing to look into issues someone else finds though.
fair enough, myself and the people on my server don't really like using the drop repair as it is cheating... :S i would really love to see working repairing for SMP
awesome, thank you for your response. That is exactly the information I wanted so that I can determine if I need to make a loading stop for my train to the town mine.
Hey all, im just wondering aprox. how far a minecart can travel with a passenger right now before the world needs to load more around you (ie. making you exit the cart so the world recognizes you have moved and sends more chunks to you)
Im only running McMyAdmin, which does not change/add any commands regarding the spawn...
EDIT: it seems that /spawn does not work but /home seems to take everybody to the spawn... also /setspawn does not work (yay for fixing that in NBTedit)

I don't care if the portals link to anything I just specifically want to be able to use the tile to make a Stargate XD
::EDIT::
Sending a thank you out to Crichton from the hMod board for the response that solved my issue.
