Madman we could get into a large argument about this, but the fact of the matter is we are the admin team, we can and will do what we like, players can make suggestions as a courtesy we do listen. But when the suggestions keep getting shutdown for valid reasons as stated by dodsferd its a bit wearing on us.
This whole diamond discussion happened amongst the admins over a month ago, hence why we quickly respond. Their was a long debate and we chose the current system. And personally I love it. I play many alt and it's great to be able to log on get a iron sword and be on even ground with 90% of players.

But you also have to realize that although some players hated me, I'm pretty sure there was a larger crowd who loved me. It created competition. Players who plate on Spartacus loved pvping and they loved me. Sounds cocky haha. But like I just started playing minecraft again and I've came across players from the old Spartacus where even my faction dominated and they are always like "madman !". So in reality although I was a troll and not respectful i think it brought and kept more players on the server then it made them go away. As for killing the guards, It taught them to be better at pvp and I think players like ghouse although I didn't like him, made the guards better because they were always watching out for their actions and they were trying harder to do their job 110% more.And I think there should be a huge pvp tourney when the sever starts up and it should be in a non laggy area. that way madman can win his money lol
for all the reader who see this i came to this server and loved it the frist time i played i played for hours days even weeks all to get a full ban by waterspice. i never broke a rule never hit a guard always helped people in need and all i wanted was guard

I'd like to comment on what you've suggested, and hopefully bring some light to the issues we have here.
Diamonds:
Diamonds in itself are not a bad thing. Having diamonds in the game isn't even a bad thing.The problem we face here, is that people WILL abuse them. They WILL be x-rayed for.
The issues that arise by having them in the game becomes a vicious cycle; People want Diamonds, and then we get complaints that they're OP. We install plugins to control diamonds, and we get complaints about lag. We take diamonds out, and we get complaints again.
I'd like to have diamonds in the game. If it's possible, then it'll happen. We can't just put them in and be done with it. It'd have to be balanced for the playerbase as a whole. We have to find answers for who gets them, how they're obtained, and the rarity of them to the very least.
We've had diamonds in the game, and it turns into people building diamond houses, toting diamond armor and diamond swords. Then we have guards quitting because they get camped, and everyone else in the streets gets slaughtered or bullied out of their profits. That, or everyone groups up together and bullies the guards.
We give diamonds to the guards, and they abuse it and end up demoted. It's silly.
Hunger Games Map;
We JUST released a survival map to let the players have something to do while the server is fixed, and not even a full day passes and we have griefing at the spawn, swastikas everywhere, and span camping. At this point, I'm considering shutting the server down from the public until we're ready to release. I can't believe that we need a hierarchy of plugins and ranks for people to play together quietly, or even be around eachother. It's beyond unacceptable.

When Spartacus was ran by Ovid the emperors were active, playful, respectful, and they acted like a normal player. The emperors today, no offense guys because you do do a lot, but the emperors today are not like that. People enjoyed the server because Rey enjoyed vulnero and James and what not. But they also enjoyed DIAMONDS. See you have to realize that no matter where you or what kind of server you're on if your of any high ranking staff position your going to get complaints. So really all this about players complaining about diamonds. Is . The ones with he diamond Armor and weapons are the players who dedicated themselves to WORKING towards getting diamonds. And the players who complain about diamonds being to op are the ones who just expect things to be handed to them. They're the ones that won't work for what they want so instead they try to make it so no one else can have what they can't. Tbh bringing back diamonds MAY help the server gain its popularity back but what is really needed is you guys. The emperors.
