It strikes me that villager grouping + infection will likely make your scenario of a total wipeout quite common.
Quite common. You're funny. It happens all the time. At least on my self created village. The other one is still populated afaik. Maybe I should divide the houses and hope they won't use only one again. They also group in their original village but they use at least 3 different houses. Which gives better changes of survival. I'll try that tonight.
And still: Zombie sieges shouldn't occur on normal. That and the grouping and the floor falling should be fixed.
I guess you're just unlucky. I killed about 50 zombies to get a potato and again about 50 for the carrot. After that I didn't notice anymore since I grew a LOT of them Just keep killing them and one will finally drop it.
It's me again. I made some screenshots. This is what happened with wooden floors:
A few hours ago I replaced every floor with cobblestone. Now it seemed that they're now longer getting stuck in the floor. They repopulated to about 15 villagers. I was working on a structure when I heard some knocking again. I ran to the village only to see the iron golem killing zombie kids inside the house. Seems it can punch through doors. All doors where closed when I entered:
I have no clue how a zombie got in there. Everything looks fine for a minute and right after you turn your back on them they start dying. This was my 4th population so far. I surrender for now and wait for a patch.
Same thing here, without the zombie siege I guess. I had a population of about 20-25 villagers. After working on something else for 3-4 days/nights I came home to an empty village. Only the iron golem was left. A zombie siege should be out of the question as I'm playing on normal difficulty. After that incident I repopulated with two new villagers, came back at night - one gone, one knocked from the inside - turned to a zombie. I have no Idea how. The houses are well lit and the village is surrounded by a fence. It happens from time to time that a zombie get's to one of the houses since they can't break down doors and the iron golem is there they SHOULD be fine. Well, should. The only thing I noticed is that they're falling through the floor of their houses. At least 1 block deep. I made everything out of wood. Maybe I'll try stone ...
Afaik there's no zoom button in vanilla Minecraft. You probably had Optifine installed and with updating to the snapshot it's gone.
*lol* I did not know that the zoom button was part of Optifine. Thank you sir(s). So I just have to wait for the next Optifine and everything is back to normal. Great news
Where did the zoom button go? I always used it to zoom in on enemies with my bow or to spot stuff. Seems it got deleted in 12w34(a/b) for no reason. At least I can't use it anymore and it's missing in the button config.
Any thoughts on that? Did I miss something (maybe an explaining tweet)?
I had an 1.3.2 install with OptiFine 1.3.2_HD_U_A3 at first, updated it to HD_U_B2 later. I created a new World in 1.3.2 and played for about 20h in it. After installing an booting the 12w34a snapshot my stats & achievements got reset. Not a biggie but I like stats.
Other thing is: If you already have a 1.3.2 map and create a new one, the chunk you're standing in isn't visible in the original anymore. Well, not as long as you restart MC.
Overall a great snapshot. Well, except that incident I just reported. Dunno what happened. But I know that I'll make a backup before I install the next snapshot
Upon downloading the 1.5 update, animals no longer spawn in single player. I don't know why. I've explored plenty, on grass in light, that's not the issue; they just stopped spawning. Does anyone have any ideas why? Monsters still spawn fine.
Do you have tamed wolves? I did submit a bug report about that two weeks ago but apparently nobody cared. If you have at least 10 wolves animals only spawn rarely or completely stop to spawn. Only thing to do at this moment: Kill some of your wolves. I had about 18, killed 15 and now I get animals again.
Edit: I stand corrected. Now my animals are gone too and I killed every wolf I owned. Still nothing :sad.gif:
Edit 2: After I restarted the game they're back. Really no idea what's the cause of this.
Is it possible to rig a pressure plate with a lever between it so the lever has to be on when you step on the plate? like
(pressure plate)-------(lever)----(door)
is there a way to do that? or am i just crazy?
If you want to trigger the lever with a pressure plate, that's not possible (yet. Who know's what's coming?).
But if you would like the door to open only if the lever AND the pressure plate are activated, the thing you're looking for is an AND gate. Take a look at the Restone circuits site on the wiki and choose the first and gate. That'll do the trick.

That's why it's called an alpha key instead of a beta key. And I'd call it a giftcode. But yes, what you said.
