And if mojang does their job right, FML and Modloader will both be obsolete. So why waste time adapting to an API that will be obsolete soon?

I really hope you are correct and it is soon been waiting for it for too long.

Yeah, the upcoming client/server merger is what I've been waiting on to port BTW over to SMP. Notch first mentioned they were going to do this many months ago, at which point I decided that I would wait on it to avoid having to do a lot of work twice.

But, as mentioned above, it's going to be a huge job, so I'm going to ask that people be patient once 1.3 comes out. I also *may* first release a single-player only 1.3 version so that people can continue playing their worlds while I work on testing the SMP port. I will have to see the code first though before making that decision.

Unfortunatly, from the look of it it will be Minecraft 1.4 when API/Pluggin support happens.

Why do they now want to make a Mod-API instead of releasing the source code of Minecraft as
    Notch mentioned earlier :o ?

Because this way there should be some compatibility between mods, with source it would probably devolve into a fluster cuck since multiple mods would want to replace the same class. The API would provide sockets to plug into without overwriting the original code as mods do now (not encluding bukkit since thats how it works more or less).

Given that there are tens of thousands of people successfully using this mod, that this is your fault seems to be the most likely cause for this, by far. It's certainly a far more probable cause than me somehow "****ing up your Minecraft" as you initially accused me of.

Extra! Extra! FlowerChild F*cking up Minecraft installs by the millions! Keep your kindern close at hand! Where will the mad man strike next?

Nah man, this was truly exceptional. The thread is seriously flooded with talk about non-compatibility at this point in time. All he had to do was read a random couple of posts from anywhere over the past week and he would have known what was wrong. Being that oblivious takes talent.

Right, I forgot most of the populace really don't like thinking much. I assumed that was just us Americanos. I can see that it would be the same in the UK (after viewing Y***c**t).

You haven't read a single other post from the past week have you?

:Pig: LoL, It's a simple thing to read a few pages of forum posts but no one seems to do it. I'm willing to bet ($0.05) if you pick one of the last 20 pages and read 3 pages before and after someone could find help for compatibility or the reasons you dropped Forge support. And possibly one of my sophomoric posts. :Ham:

Damn, that makes me want a beat-up blue '72 Ford pickup truck :smile.gif:

They can have the kids though. I'm not fond of those.

The only reason I'd want a Ford anything is to crash it into big, heavy objects of varying density. I like the feeling of different things going squish.

Since you give it to me for free you owe me your soul, your first born and a beat up blue '72 Ford pickup truck! Why you got to make me go back a few pages in the forum to see why it don't work with forge no more. Please repeat the answers over and over to everyone that comes to the party late. </sarcasm>

Thanks for the effort Flower. Even though my love for RedPower is equal to that of my love for Better Than Wolves i really respect your stance on the issue. I hope that Jens gets the API right and all this will be an unpleasant memory.
