    i recently started wondering why mojang chose to make the command not /spawn. instead, they put /summon.

    like, /summon enderdragon is fine, but /summon sheep, cow, no. it sounds weird. so i was wondering why they did not put /spawn?

I’m thinking of the creation of 2 new blocks that can “evaporate” at the touch of a red stone torch, but not only that, cause the evaporation of an adjacent block of one of these 2 new types.     What they are:

    2 New blocks, one that acts as a gravity block (like sand and gravel), and one that acts as a standard block. They can be destroyed with your fist, or any other tool using the same stats as dirt, but these blocks would have the added feature of vanishing when touched by the red stone torch. This touch would cause blocks of the same type (evaporating blocks), to chain reaction and cause the others to vanish. This mechanic is already in place in one manner with fire and foliage, so it shouldn’t be too much to code in. Where fire takes time to go to work and spread, this would be much faster, and ONLY effect these 2 new blocks.

    Why use them:

    The gravity blocks would be great for underwater building, this could replace the use of sand, as you could fill a water filled void, and then touch it, and all of the blocks vanish leaving only air blocks. Saves having to excavate the blocks you placed.

    The standard block would be quite useful for scaffolding, or making temporary structures.

    What they look like:

    This has taken some thought as these blocks are meant as temporary fill, but knowing the community and its penchant for doing things that are outlandish, they should be blocks that you would be okay with having around your building, and could act as great mechanisms in traps.

    I propose that the blocks look like cloud, as they are meant to evaporate. The gravity blocks would have a denser look to them and could be called “heavy fog”. The standard block could be called “heavy cloud”. Yes, it is the magic dense fog and clouds that castles are built on and people can’t walk through. J

    How to craft them:

    So these are not blocks that occur in nature, but instead have to be created. They are not reusable, as they vanish in a puff of water vapour. They better be easy to craft, and require little labour on the players part. So I’m thinking, as they are water vapour, the recipe should be as simple as a bucket of water for the” heavy cloud”, which produces 4 blocks. The water will be used, but not the bucket. For the “heavy fog” I’m thinking a bucket of water, with either sand or gravel. This too would produce 4 blocks, and the bucket would remain.

    So that is my proposal… as always feedback is appreciated.
