There used to be a bigger version of this thread a few months ago, but someone removed it due to "not fitting in the forum category". It used to fit before, but they changed the forum section name (so it wouldn't fit), and then removed the thread. They told me, and a bunch of other users, that they would make a dedicated section, but months later we see no change. The old thread is still locked, and nobody can see it. Tons of (30+ pages) players who wanted friends to play with just get denied. So in order to prevent that from happening again, this thread is being remade and placed in the "most appropriate section" possible. Since people usually look for friends to play survival with, this thread is being made in the Survival Mode Discussion mode section.

NAME: Venus
AGE: 13
IGN: CoffeeIGuess
DISCORD: MiceOnVenus#1445
POSITION OF CHOICE: Admin/Builder
WHY CHOOSE YOU: I have a passion for helping out servers that I believe are worthy and stay on ones that I really enjoy. I personally think this server will get huge with a great community - I also understand that owning a server can be a difficult task so I can see why you'd need such a huge team to help you, I think I'd be a really good addition to the team because my skills w/ both building & managing is good because I have a heap of previous experience.
Other than my helping/managing ability, I also have a lot of knowledge with managing/configuring/installing plugins, along with other helpful things like knowing a lot about world-edit and helpful commands in pex. Though I'd like to quickly note that 1) I am still learning 2) sorry if this was misleading in any way but no I don't have any knowledge of how to code.
I am also partially applying for builder as you saw in the "position of choice" section because I am decent at building (don't have any portfolio at the moment though, sorry) which I feel, for a new server, would be really useful as at this time you are looking for a lot of help setting up and configuring the server.
PAST EXPERIENCE (IF ANY): It took place about a year ago on a server named Techcraft, this was my first ever experience as a staff member and at this point I was very unqualified, and will admit, a staff-hunter. I somehow got accepted for Helper, and as you could probably guess, I left immediately when I got bored since that’s where I was in life as a staff-hunter.
My second staff experience was more serious than the last one, named Xeon. I was a builder here, but unfortunately this server didn’t work out as well for me. I was put through a heap of stress since the owners continued to put tons of work on me, while letting others lay back and do barely anything. I resigned, and shortly after the server shutdown/went downhill.
After that, I had my few Manager positions, and that’s where I started becoming serious about Minecraft servers, and finally decided to stop being a staff hunter after reading a great Minecraft Forum post about being staff, and what you should do as one.
Mid-2019 was when I got most of my real staff experiences. From applying to resigning, I was getting more experienced each day. And I was really started to realise some of the sad realities of being staff, but also starting to see the joy in it.
I’ve never had any real job experiences, since I’m young and physically can’t get one just yet. One day I will see if I’m any good and if these Minecraft experiences are helping me in any way, which is why I’m grateful for this opportunity, since it’s providing me some work experience.
Thank you for taking this application into consideration!

Yeah. I'm sure they'll add different dog variations (hopefully). If they see a lot of people demanding it, they have no choice but to eventually do it. Would be an awesome update if it happened.

In my opinion, we're way better off having trees growing at the pace they do now. It may look nice, but if you think about it; would you really enjoy the trees growing at a slower pace? Would it be that convenient? There's plenty of mods that make this a reality. Try them out, see if you like them.
Unless these stages took the same amount of time it takes for a tree to grow now in Minecraft (an ingame day or two, sometimes 3) I'd be fine with it. This idea, overall though, sounds quite inconvenient. It would look sweet, but wouldn't be fun to live with. This is just my opinion. Also, please consider adding more detail to the post so we can discuss this idea further.
I'm happy with talking about it and making this idea better and better!

Sorry I didn't see your idea that you posted! And yeah true

Good luck with the server

Since foxes came in, even though untamable, wolves lost popularity- so I think it’s time these guys get the update they deserve; The New Breeds Update. I'm going to show you what the update will do, why it would exist, and more. Let’s get into it.
What would the New Breeds update do?
Wolves haven’t really ever got a “major update”, and I think what would make wolves more interesting would be to give them new breed types.
This New Breeds update would have an ocelot-like-function, meaning when you come across a wolf and tame it normally by giving it bones, it’ll turn into a surprise breed.
When you tame the wolf, this won’t change the shape or size of it, but it will change the colours and the look. Most excitingly, it will change the function and characteristics of the breed.
Let’s go through an example of this function; when you come across a wolf it’ll look like normal, but when tamed it’ll turn into a different kind of breed- let’s say you got the Husky breed; this Husky would be loyal but independent, would be great at travelling through snow and would survive harsh weather like Storms, rain and Snow with ease. Great for adventurers!
As I said before, “When you tame the wolf, this won’t change the shape or size of it, but it will change the colours and the look. Most excitingly, it will change the function and characteristics of the wolf.”, let’s get into what breeds there would be. In the spoilers, I’ll include more information about the breeds and their characteristics. Also, feel free to give me more ideas for different breeds; just include the breed name and what their function and characteristics are- and make sure they wouldn’t change the size of the normal wolf too much.
Husky
The Husky is great at travelling through snow and rough weather like Snow and ThunderStorms - other breeds cannot survive weather like this so easily. This breed is also independent, fearless, and very fast at running in almost every biome. The Husky can be found most commonly in Snowy Tundra biomes.
German Shepherd
This breed, like the husky, is very independent and loyal. The German Shepherd isn’t afraid of anything, and is also pretty fast. These breeds will most commonly be found in Spruce forest, Taiga, and Mega Taiga biome.
Golden Retriever
These dogs are one of the most Loyal dogs out of all the breeds. They will fight for you and will always be on edge when a mob is nearby. Speaking of mobs, when a hostile mob is nearby (10-15 blocks away?), even if it doesn’t attack you or you attack it, this dog will go after it to protect you from even getting hit once.
Dalmatian
This breed is very energetic and loves to play. They are loyal to their masters/owners, and are also very intelligent breeds. However, these dogs aren’t so good at surviving biomes like Snow, Desert, and Oceans- meaning if they are travelling through any of those biomes, they’ll get tired quite easily. This type of dog will commonly be found in Plains, Savanna, and Forest biomes.
Border Collie
Like the Golden Retriever, these breeds are very loyal to their owners. They’re good at travelling through Deserts and Ocean biomes, and when they see a sheep, chicken, or cow they might chase it for fun. They are very fast breeds as well. The Border Collie will most commonly be found in Plains/Field, Deserts and Savanna biomes.
Cocker Spaniel
The Cocker Spaniel is a very intelligent, loyal and energetic dog. Sadly, like the Dalmatian, they aren’t so good at surviving Snow, Desert, and Ocean biomes and will get tired fast in them. This dog will refuse to fight Creepers, Skeletons and Enderman. They are commonly found in Taiga, Desert, Savanna and Beach biomes.
Wolf
The Wolf will keep the personality we all know and love, except they will most commonly be found in Plains, Snowy Tundra, Taiga and Mega taiga biomes.
So those are all of the breeds and their characteristics.
Why would this update exist?
To give wolves more variation, and make Minecraft more lively. When ocelots got more breeds, we loved them, so can you imagine if we had different types of dogs?
I’d also like to quickly mention; All of these breeds, except for the Husky, German Shepherd, and Golden Retriever would all be afraid of creepers and won’t attack them.
Thanks for reading. If you have any ideas for the suggestion just say so in a reply and I might add it.

I can play any gamemode and enjoy it. Survival, creative, hardcore, servers, I'll get stuck playing on anything for at least a couple hours. But right now, I'd say I'm enjoying survival right now; survival servers to be specific. I just play anything i feel like nowadays.

There's no real "theory" as to why they change it, just logical reasons. Like you said, one of them could be the fact that kids don't know what Mesa or Extreme hills is, doubt it but it's one reason. The new names are also more memorable than the last. For new players, you would have to manually search up what the biomes were, but they make more sense now and can be more recognisable and guessable for all players.
Badlands, in my opinion, is a sick biome name though.

It's hasnt got a specific rareness value, so its not too rare but its definitely not common either; however, it is very convenient you decided to head to the village & explore the mine - and on top of that very nice you got a stronghold in that mine. I guess it can be considered lucky, because no one finds stuff like this commonly, i certainly havent even during my whole 4-5 years of playing.
I have found a stronghold near spawn but not near a village... so you are very lucky to have loaded up a world with this generation! Overall, great find because i, and everyone else i know, has not come across these conditions while playing.

Yes, my friends friend uses it and it works just fine for beginners (now some other replies have bamboozled me, and i havent used hamachi in a while so i dont really know just take everyone elses replies into consideration)
