Wow, I thought this one was dead...very happy to be wrong! Thanks for all your hard work.

Nope! Happy to say it's very much still here! Biomes O' Plenty mod support will be the next big update.

posted a message on Double Doors act as a Single Entity

I was talking about words that already have doors that are next to each other in a double-door formation.

Honestly, these replies have been baffling to me. If you load an old world with 1.10, the skeletons will still use the new pathing AI. When zombie pathfinding was introduce, that wasn't exclusive to brand new worlds. Changes to boat behaviour wasn't exclusive to brand new worlds.

Double doors (and gates) are annoying, and ought to be fixed. That's all.

You need to ask the mod maker. This forum is for resource packs, which have nothing to do with server plugins.

Optifine has a one-click installer now. Download the jar file, run it, and hit install. It'll create its own profile in the Minecraft launcher.

    posted a message on [Wip-1.8 Pack]-"Paganum Packed"+ Gungeon Models

I'm not a big fan, honestly. What I'm guessing is the grass is way too bright. When standing in a field, you'll go blind. The re-use of the same texture, and just colouring it to be stone or dirt or whatever also seems very lazy.

These simple packs have been done to death. There's nothing unique or cute about it, tbh.

GMC isn't at that link anymore. The original pack hasn't been updated in some time, and is being continued here:

Ah, it looked like a link shortener. I guess I didn't consider he'd link to a screenshot he'd also uploaded.

posted a message on Double Doors act as a Single Entity

When one places a double door, the texture flips to make the doors mirror, and seem like they go together, but they still behave as individual entities. A button or a lever will only operate one door unless you know how to wire it up with redstone. Even right clicking on the door will only open that one.

Instead of operating independently, double doors ought to operate in tendem. A button placed next to one should open both doors. Right clicking one should open both. Otherwise, having double doors is a matter of style, but they serve very little function.

posted a message on TUTORIAL - How to Optimize Your Minecraft Resource Pack Though File Compression
    Quote from Sciex»

If you compress an image too much you are obviously going to have a smaller file size with reduced quality. This program I used seems to work nicely though. I haven't seen any noticeable differences in quality with my compressed textures.

Yeah, no. I tried this once with my pack, and any image compression on 128x creates a noticeable drop in quality in the images. You probably can't notice the dithering on low-res or pixel art packs, but with something that's hand drawn with smoother colours and cel-shading, you can see the dithering clear as day.

I'd honestly rather lose a few downloads to people who know they can't play a high-res pack, than have them download ugly images they can still barely play because it saved them half a megabyte in the download.

From what I've been told, you can have biome-specific textures with Optifine now. Those would be great to have as the desert variants of your textures.

I was holding out for 1.10 to give us that, but it doesn't look like it we're ever gonna get that in Vanilla. Oh well.

    They all look great, though!

Soo, I only just got the chance to really open and test out your pack as I said I would. I reiterate: I love it. Your work really just blows me away. I hope you don't mind my gushing about it. lol

One thing I specifically love, that made me giggle, was the one painting of nothing but runes. NICE one. Yes, I can read runic AND German, so I just stared at it for a moment and plastered it onto the outside wall of my house in the world I dedicated to the use of your pack. hehe

As I write this, I still have the sounds of rain and ravens in my mind from having stood for around 5 minutes in game, just listening. So very calming and inspiring. I don't even know what else to say. :Diamond:

I think my personally favourite painting is the stave to kill your neighbour's cows. Yeah, from it's like, 700 years after the Vikings, but Icelandic staves crack me up.

For some reason, at least for me, the ravens are the only custom sound that works. I need to figure out what I've done wrong with the rest, because it's driving me mad.

I still don't trust that link. Unless I'm downloading Optifine or Forge, I don't click on link sorteners.

Also, it's a Faithful edit. I assume that means you've taken Vattic's pack, and idk, blue-shifted it? Does Vattic know? do you have permission to post his pack?

posted a message on Testing for a resource pack.

"One colour packs" have been done to death. Call it "Bucket Fill" so people know to avoid it without wasting the bandwidth. (And, if it's just bucket fill, why bother with 32x? You could literally do 1x and have the same effect.) Bucket fill is bad because 1, it's difficult and painful to look at; 2, has no contrast which makes it easy to fall off mountains; and 3, is the epitome of lazy.

Honestly, it's got to the point where I want to scream when someone complains about mods that aren't updated or resource packs that aren't finished. Like, FINE, YOU DO IT, if you know so much better.

Because it's pretty obvious that they don't realise every new version of Minecraft is guaranteed to break everything ever under the sun.
