I'm a mom who serves as her kid's tech support. I'd love some help here and ask you to be patient.
My 9 year old plays on several of the bigger, popular servers that have the *wars games (egg, sky, bed wars, etc).
I am the person who downloads his mods and texture packs. He isn't allowed to do that.
He's been banned from 2 servers now for "Cheat detection."
Other than optifine, he doesn't run any mods while playing online. We make sure he abides by the rules.
I don't know what the cheat detection is catching.
Three months ago, when a friend was spending the night, the friend did install a cheat. I immediately removed it once I found out.
But the bans have happened all in the past 2 weeks. I followed one server's instructions for how to ensure your system is clean (by deleting most of the minecraft folder on the pc, except the settings, etc.)
I'm not sure what else to do and this is frustrating for my son. The appeals process on the servers is crap. I wrote a long appeal, sent screen shots, etc and no dice. I'm fairly pc savy (used to work in IT), but i don't have all day to play tech support for my three kids who regularly play online.
Anyway, what do I need to do to ensure the cheat detection bots don't tag him again and again like keeps happening now on two different sites.
Hi, I'm a Minecraft mom here. I've played the console editions with my kids, but now my kids play the pc version and online games.
My daughter wants some mods and maps downloaded. The few she's found on youtube vids all are downloads that include bloatware and scamware in the download package. I already had to clean up her pc from a benign browser hijacker it installed when she tried to download a map.
Anyway, best place to download maps and mods? She wants a skywars map and the lucky block mod. And I want a trustworthy download site.
Played a game of Minecraft on the XBOX 360 that I started back in March. Located stronghold, got all the achievements. Great.
My 8 yo wanted to play a world and get achievements, so we started a new game using the same seed number.
The Stronghold isn't in the same location. Most everything else is the same, save for a few topography changes. Dungeons, mines, town. But the stronghold, nope... not where it was in the same seed # on our other game save.
I'm new here and to PC Minecraft (after playing on consoles for a couple years), so please be kind. My 10 year old just discovered Diversity 2 and wants to play.
We have Minecraft 1.9.2 installed on her computer.
Downloaded the map pack, installed the save per the instructions.
Start the game. Enter the room, put the white wool in the chest. The room next door opens and we go in to select the challenge to pursue. No matter what we select (and we've tried all the colors), when you go the pressure plate to transport to the mission, nothing happens. Nothing. You hear the click of the pressure plate, but no cool little transport effect or anything.

Is that normal? Thanks.
