While true, this idea won't really add much variation.
Remember how jungles were added and everyone loved them? Remember how in a few weeks people didn't care about them any more? Same deal here, it'll just take longer because there are more biomes. Simply adding biomes will not add enough variation to make the terrain interesting again.
Hence why I do not support.
True, true. Which is why in that other thread under the discussion section (the one where he sent that letter to Jeb I believe?) I think that we could maybe merge this idea, which this idea has obviously been thought of many times before, merge this idea with the idea of unrestricted landscapes. Biomes that aren't just held back to their own structure.
I like the idea of added variation to biomes. I miss the variation they had before that Adventure update and always love the addition of new biomes and/or added variation. The more biomes/variation, the more exploration! The more interesting the world becomes.
When they added swamps I couldn't wait to go and build in one lol. I support this idea, and also that huge thread in general discussion about it :D.
First time I played Minecraft I had a pretty good understanding of the game because I had read some things on the wiki. I had a nice shelter and it was getting dark. However being my first night I was scared as hell to walk outside. I then muster up the courage to open the door, and a damn chicken squawks and scares the hell out of me and I basically back flip out of my chair...
I was in a small lake one time, next to my house, and a creeper had followed me into the lake. The creeper blew up next to me and near my house, but being in water the explosion didn't break any of the blocks that made up my house.
The admins always stalked everyone as if we were always doing horrible things or something. They didn't even have any plugins, they'd just sit in the distant trees acting as if you couldn't see them, kind of creepy actually.
Anyway, the admins had to have been 6-8 years old because I got banned a few seconds later for: "haking invincible blocks". Happened about 2 weeks ago and I had a pretty good laugh about it.

It may be that Minecraft is running out of memory due to the HD texture pack. How much RAM do you have/have allocated and how large of resolution is the texture pack? i.e 32x32, 64x64, 128x128, or 256x256+?
Also, does it only happen with this texture pack?
We can move on from there once I get a tiny more info.
EDIT: Also it probably wouldn't hurt to run this test and post the results here.
I am having a problem with my sound on minecraft, I tried to make a mod that would change the sounds for Minecraft but somehow I messed up my sound, I tried everything from force updating to re-downloading the Minecraft client (which took over an hour because my internet is so damn crap). I messed with a lot of stuff inside the .minecraft folder, so after about 3 hours of trying to fix this I was wondering if anyone that has one send me a link to their unmodified .minecraft folder.
Thanks, Bob_O_Tron.
Also I checked out my speakers and they are completely fine, my minecraft sound is also on and not muted or anything like that (obviously ).
It seems you missed one little tiny step into getting a fresh install, which would be deleting the .minecraft folder.
You'll want to back up your 'saves' and 'stats' folders inside of the .minecraft folder so you don't lose your worlds or statistics.
Once you've backed them up, you'll want to delete the ENTIRE .minecraft folder.
Then run the Minecraft application. It should automatically re-download all of the stock/default resources for you.
That is my best answer as to how to fix it. Although I'm only going at it this way because you never mentioned whether or not you had deleted the .minecraft folder.
If this fixes it, then yay :D. If it doesn't, we'll move on from there and try other methods.
Failed to connect to the server
Connection timed out: connect
Help?
It might be your firewall blocking Minecraft from connecting to any servers, what OS are you running? I can help you through getting Minecraft unblocked if this is the case.
I tried installing Optifine through Magic Launcher, but once I added Optifine through the setup and launched the game with Magic Launcher and entered my game, it cut to pitch black and crashed the game.
I've heard of the Magic Launcher, but have yet to actually have the chance to try it out, have you tried installing the mods manually and launching via the default Minecraft launcher? Although it says easy mod installation on the Optifine forum post, it is not required.
I had this problem a long time ago. Installing Optifine fixed it for me, though I have heard that it could be an override setting on some graphics cards, though I'm sure Optifine should fix it for you (hopefully).
So I was trying to set up a server, port forwarding and all that good stuff. When I went to do something with the advanced settings in windows firewall, I noticed that I could not join ANY servers except oddly enough, server's rented through Daddy Cheese. Any clue as to why it's being so weird?
You might have accidentally blocked Minecraft from communicating with servers over port 25565, which is what most servers run on, Daddy Cheese servers probably run through a different port, check your exceptions in Firewall and make sure there is no rule against java making connections through 25565.
Try to undo what you might have did in Firewall, and if you've tried and it still won't connect, try resetting Firewall to default settings.
Every time i launch minecraft it works fine until i click play on the selected world. then it crashes here is the crash report:
-snip-
Does this happen on all of your worlds? Or just a specific one?
I also noticed that you're running snapshot 12w36a, the most recent one released.
Here's a few of my guesses as to what went wrong, in order of most likely to least (in my opinion).
1. Something in your world is conflicting with something in snapshot 12w36a, Minecraft can be a big pain sometimes, and isn't one of the most stable games, the conflict could be anything, and could be the most random thing.
2. Your world is corrupt, although I'm unsure as you did not specify whether it was clicking on a specific world, or any of your worlds.
3. Your minecraft.jar is corrupt or something is out of place within the .jar, have you tried modding the snapshot? Although I've never used snapshots, I highly doubt they can be modded unless someone has updated their mod that fast. (Remember this reason is highly unlikely)
What I recommend you do, is first try playing on the most current version of Minecraft, 1.3.2 I believe? See if the problem consists there. If it does, your world may be corrupted, and you can go here to try and get help about fixing it.
If your problem still continues to happen, we can work it out from there.
Did both of those things, Twice... The only thing that usually hinders it is port forwarding, And i set that up a long time ago
I am not sure, I'll have to see about it in the morning, or someone else can pick this up for me, as it's really late here, and I have lot's of work tomorrow.
Hi, I am having a weird problem. My server will not allow players to regenerate health. Is this a bug? Or could it be caused by a plugin? It's running Bukkit. Any help is appreciated.
It'd be nice if you could provide us with a list of plugins that you use with your server. Thanks (:

I am sure you have all seen this thread about it.
But yeah, maybe try merging it with more biomes, therefore more world generation craziness. Just a thought, opinions don't matter on the internet lol.

Technically Seananners called his gold shoes butter shoes back in 2010, yet skydoesminecraft didn't join Youtube until 2011....
Anyway, I don't care what people call it, as long as I understand what they are referring to.
