Clean. Simple. Easy to find. I like your idea. If more details as to at what levels certain resources could be found? Have not gone through everything so excuse me if its already there. Keep up the good work.
I do not clearly understand, is it some part of your build that got deleted or is it the World file (save) got deleted?
If file is deleted why haven't you tried recovering it?
If this is supported by your operating system try this (at your own risk of-course). Here is link for file recovery software: http://www.piriform.com/recuva
And pardon me if i made any wrong assumptions here.
To the OP nice build. Also i got slime while standing in inner most chamber (2nd trap). I have not gone through all the post but to all those or any who suggested the idea of clearing and lighting up all caves, i have question. Tell me if this would work, say if you were to build about same structure (may be smaller in size) in mid-air at reasonable height from the ground (same level as sand/sea), would it work to spawn the mobs?
For example:
Where, is where the whole mob trap set-up happens. This way one would not have to bother finding and lighting up caves.
Picture above might be bit misleading, main idea is would the same trap being build in mid air help in avoiding having to find caves and make sure they are not dark so as to have mobs spawn outside. I am aware that the mob trap here is in itself so huge that irrespective of the caves below (for anyone else trying to replicate it in his/her world) the mobs would spawn, but how about a smaller setup will it work.
Q1. Are you making your own custom textures or downloading ready made ones? If custom textures, can i have the link?
Q2. If you are downloading custom textures are you making sure the pack is completely outside the folder? Meaning are you pasting all textures in their respective folders?
To try this copy just the custom pack char.png (which is basic character textures) into the minecraft jar file. Since it is outside of any folders. Run minecraft, and see if your character texture changed.
Make sure minecraft is not running while you are making changes to texture.
Hope it helps.
Correction. It is only talking more time to load since site is offline.
To get it working I turned off my internet modem, turned on minecraft which forced it into offline mode then turned on my modem again to be able to get back to forum posting.
Edit: after the ninja...
Ya, I'm impatient so I thought having no internet would speed it up.
K now it seems my launcher is not even letting me play offline mode, since i deleted the .minecraft folder (game was lagging bad at log in screen i had too) and possibly the site is down resulting in dead lock. I will sit this one out till the site is back up and will try again.
Try download Java latest from the Java site, i am not sure if the minecraft site links to the latest version also try different browsers.
Hope it helps.
Yes, everything is located in the Minecraft folder.
See thats the thing, I only have the minecraft.exe, and I want to actually get the folders in the first place. Idk why I dont have them.
I wrote same thing in chat once. Then i realized that i was on different user, so go check in c:\documents and settings\ whatever user\Application data\.minecraft
If you do not find in one of the user go check in other. I am sure search function should work too.(search function in windows). All this is assuming you run windows, and by user i mean a folder named by your windows log in name.
hi,
Make sure you have copied the minecraft jar file (original) before attempting this. And i have Win Xp as OS.
The software i use is 7-zip(freeware). Which an be used to what he is referring as unpacking and repacking.
Follow this:
1.Go to .minecraft>bin folder, find minecraft jar file.
2.Now right click on the minecraft jar file. If you have installed 7-zip, you should see an option for 7-zip, highlight it by moving your mouse over it. Select Open archive.
3.Now whatever texture pack you want put it in here by dragging it on to the opened archive. It will ask you "Are you sure you want to copy file xyz.png or whatever to the archive?" yes or Okay.
4.Close the 7-Zip app and you are done. Fire up minecraft.
Hope it helps.
It is funny it did not occur to me that there is such an easy way to do this.
Now i am working on Win Xp (OS), assuming you have same:
1. Go to control panel>accessibility options>Mouse.
2. Under that check mark Use "MouseKeys".
3. Click settings. I prefer to keep Top Speed and Acceleration both to max. (Skip this if you like. Not sure if it has any effect on digging.)
4.Make sure Show "MouseKeys status on screen" is checked.
5.Hit "OK", then "Apply", and "OK" again.
If everything was done right a small mouse icon is seen on the right bottom corner.Fire up minecraft. Make sure the Numlock key is on. Do what you normally do to dig just this time instead of clicking mouse just press "Ins" or the "0" (zero key) on numpad. It should start digging to make it stop click "5" key on numpad or turn numlock key off.
~Hope it helps. And thanks for posting this topic i learned something new today .
