Will look for a good hillside to dig into and carve out a grand entrance. Then I'll dig out a grand common area where to put my workshop and furnace and chests in. Then I'll dig a large room for a tree farm lined with torches. During the digging, I'll start to ornament the walls and ceiling, digging from the top down and making the ceiling and walls nice with cobble and smooth stone blocks. Once I hit a floor, I'll lay half blocks down to make the floor look real nice.

Once all this is done, I'll take as many tree trunks as I can and seal the only entrance with them and start digging out to find minerals while also digging out rooms. Once I mine enough gold, I'll make a grand throne room with gold lining the pillars and surfaces.

Yes we're missing the point here. The point is that adding a way of storing water from rain is awesome!

Yes! I like the idea of lightning and thunder at night! Makes the idea of having your own home away from the storm a good one. I'd especially like to see something like half a second of light for when there's a lightning strike to make it seem dark and scarier when trying to avoid creepers!

I think water does tend to have a bluish tint in large ammounts even without the sky interfering

Ever looked at a glass of water? If that looks blue in some way you should check your water supply for strange substances..

I think water should reflect the color of the sky, or even better just reflect the sky/terrain.
Of course a slight blue tint for a more cartoonish feel is nice :smile.gif:

Hey! There's nothing wrong with that Gatorade! I have it pumped straight from their industrial plant in Newark!

This is something I've been thinking of for a while. Why not put rain that would actually generate blocks of water here and there. Of course there would have to be an evaporation rate or else the whole map would be flooded eventually.

Let's say we have a water block that's just been dropped by the rain, there would be an evaporation modifier on it depending on how many sides of itself are touching other blocks. While it was raining, this modifier would be inactive. But when the rain ends and the sun comes out, the water would start to evaporate.

For example a single water block with no other blocks touching either of its 4 sides would evaporate after 5 seconds, let's say.

:mossystone: (pretend this is a water block)

However if that water block is touching another block with just one side, the block might evaporate in 10 seconds.

    :mossystone: :mossystone:

This would continue with 2 sides = 15 seconds, 3 sides = 20 seconds. But when a water block is completely surrounded by blocks, the block would stay and wouldn't evaporate.

    :stone: :stone: :stone:
    :stone: :mossystone: :stone:
    :stone: :stone: :stone:

This would be good for if you wanted to store water for later use for decoration or for watering fields.

We could take this even further and have exposure to light as a variable. Let's say we have a solitary water block by itself. If it was exposed to the sun, it would do it's basic 5 second evaporation. However if the block was in a dark area or in a dark cave, evaporation may be prolonged by 2 seconds per light level. This would allow for under ground lakes and more interesting exploration.
