posted a message on [ACTM] Rift Up, Adventure structured as a miniCTM
My cousin and I just played this over LAN. Took us about 6 hours all told, though we were both new to the CTM genre, so inexperience may have played a role. I do have a few bugs to report, though.

      • The poison from the water area was inconsistent and would sometimes activate when we were on land in the intersection, most notably every time we teleported home from area 5.
      • The electricity in area 5 didn't work until after we had cleared it, making it way too easy to beat, and incredibly annoying to gather resources from after it was supposedly deactivated.
      • The area 5 electricity affected both of us whenever one of us hit a wire, even if one of us was still in the intersection.
      • My cousin was once randomly teleported to the control area with the teleporters and extra supply chests
      • Luckily I had cheats turned on, so he was able to teleport back to me.
      • Massive lag once we entered the final area. My computer isn't the beefiest, but it wasn't having much trouble up until that point.

Other than these problems, it was a fun introduction to the CTM genre for both of us.
Edit: spoiler tags seem to be broken, so I removed references to the ending

posted a message on What is your best death?
Mine is probably when I was digging a tunnel in the nether. I was walking too close to the netherrack that I was mining, and when I opened a hole in what turned out to be the ceiling over an immense lava lake, I fell right in. I reflexively paused just as I went over the side, and was treated to a spectacular view. I felt as if I was doing a swan dive to my death, a la Assassin's Creed.

How did you accidentally mine a mob spawner in combat? Were you using a pickaxe to fight?

posted a message on Plateau spawning non-spreading dirt?
I think the patch notes meant that while it will spawn naturally, you can't place it without the /give command. This is because it's not available in creative and it turns to normal dirt if you dig it up, even with silk touch.

posted a message on If you are about to fall to your death, this is my trick.
    Quote from LukeGardner2011

But you can't take water into the nether, so if you fall you're most likely screwed. (Lava is annoying)

I actually use lava buckets in the nether much like I use water buckets in the overworld. All it takes is a potion of fire resistance. The fire animation can make it hard to see though.

posted a message on How to always find your way to home!
just use a map. Even if you're way off the edge, you'll always know which cardinal direction you need to travel to get back. Look at the sun or moon to get oriented and get walking!

posted a message on Village config
As far as I know, this can only be done on superflat worlds, unless you use mods. Take a look at this:
Consider the preset code 2;48,250x0,49,78:2;3;stronghold(count=7),village(size=0 distance=9),decoration,dungeon,mineshaft

The village and the parenthesis after it are what you need to worry about. The size value is, of course, the size of the village. The distance value is the maximum distance between villages-if you set this to the minimum, which is nine, you should see villages spawning a lot more often. That three just before the ";stronghold" is the biome id. You'll need to change that to 1 or 2, for plains or desert, respectively, otherwise villages won't spawn. For more info on preset codes check out the wiki page (http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Superflat). A good program to help you generate a preset code without having to memorize all those block IDs can be found here: http://chunkbase.com/apps/superflat-generator#2;7,2x3,2;1;village. I hope this was helpful.

    Quote from D_FireBird

I was really disappointing to see that the time-lapse feature was taken out from 1.7 :(

Wouldn't that make it so if you paused while being chased by zombies you'd see a time-lapse of your death when you un-paused? Not my idea of a good time.
