because i am stupid. so if you have not built at spawn then compass is useless. igh i was hoping for n/s/e/w compass. ok thx for help and sry i missed the link first time.

how do you use the /p command ingame to see where you are? And another noob question. is ther a compase so you know what direction you are going?

I set up an mklink in the past and am trying to delete it to start over. here is what i used before.

mklink /D "C:\Users\Bob-pc7\Dropbox\Minecraft Backup" "C:\Users\Bob-pc7\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves"

I thought i had deleted t he link but when I try to start over again i get something about can't create link when it already exists. I am apparently not deleting the correct folder or whatever. please help if you can.

reason for wanting to delete it is my laptop seems to update the saves folder BUT my desktop does not get current saves folder. I am confused. Probably because i am older than dirt and my head is spinning with this stuff. sigh.

I haave made cartographer maps of my world trying to find caves. I am sure I have t hem on the map but I just can't figure out what represents them. Can someone tell me what I should see that represents a cave? what the color is? or anything. I am lost. Is there a cartographer guide anywhere that tells you what you are looking at??

I tried the method using dropbox and the autosaving thing. had to delete it as the slowdown on my laptop and constant saving qould not allow me to play. Is there a way/place to copy current saves to flashdrive and then load into laptop? I don't seem to know where to place/copy the saves folder. i t ried the .minecraft folder in appdata but it does not work... or I am not doing it correctly.

what format do i save map in to keep the two layers? please?

i will be happy to use anything you like if you tell me how to do it. that was first one on searech. it works for me to access but apparently not for others. never done this before. i don't mind the flame stuff but please follow it with help on hoe=w to do what yu are asking. and where to do it.

for next to last guy. i will look for upload site and try it. have to figure out how but hopefullly i will get it soon.thx for suggestion. i tried the upload attachment on bottom of this site, while in post mode, but if it worked i did not see it.
