Can anyone tell me how they get the molecular assembler to recognize ore dictionary items? Or do I need to route thru a mystical plinth or autocrafting tables?

No, you need Buildcraft, IC2, Thermal Expansion, Forestry, or something else with engines/generators. AE has none of it's own.
I am afk at the moment, so i can't check, but isn't there a config setting to turn off the power requirements?

Put the cutting knife in the AE network inventory. Also, make a recipe for the cutting knife, so when it runs out, it can make a new one and not hold up crafting waiting for you to supply another one.
Also, does your network know how to make the individual parts of the ME Advanced Pattern Assembly?
Nevermind that last part. This recipe just uses vanilla stuff except the cutting knife and silicon. Are you sure you have diamonds and redstone in the network, as well as the silicon and cutting knife?
I put a fresh knife in the inventory, and it started working. Go figure.
Sep 23, 2013I created a pattern to make ME advanced pattern assemblies, put it in my molecular assembler chamber and requested 27. I have the diamonds, redstone and silicon available, and a put a quartz cutting knife in inventory, but the job just sits there:Posted in: Minecraft Mods
The only thing I can think of is that it might be reading the NBT values on the knife. Can anyone confirm or deny?

I wasn't sure if updating would potentially break something else in the pack since I know a lot of mods function off of other mods such as Forge and the like. What version would you recommend? The latest?
I can post a crash log if it comes down to it. I'm all for updating though, but hope not to break anything. =D
NM, I'm an idiot. I was talking about transposers, which is a part of RP2. Sorry!

I need some more info on how crafting CPU's handle huge, long, and complex operations.
I've got enough automation set up where I can fully craft an Ultimate hybrid solar panel from scratch using UU-matter alone, and which uses ridiculous amounts of materials (see below).
But it keeps stalling out after making maybe 1-2 panels, and usually seems to hang on making the alloy plate.
I don't know if I need more crafting CPU's or if I'm hitting some sort of internal absolute limit on how many consecutive operations AE can handle before it stops working.
The amount of materials it has to process for this is very high. I've seen the crafting monitor stack all the way up to all slots full.... but it does eventually finish the job for maybe one or two at a time.
Confirmed - I had the same problem, discovered when crafting hv solar arrays. My problem was that I couldn't upgrade, since I was playing an FTB modpack.

Perhaps I should explain again what I want to achieve. I have the MAC so I can use the crafting terminal and select what I want and how many. However, I do not want to ever store oak logs, I want them to ALL be planks. Unless I continually go into the MAC terminal and do it manually, selecting the appropriate pattern, this is not achieved. When I feed logs into my network, I want them to automatically convert into planks, every single one of them. The MAC terminal doesn't have a feature where you can set a pattern to continually run while there is an existing inventory, it only does the quantity you select. It would be nice if there is an 'infinite' quantity option, so as fast as you put an item into inventory, it crafts it,
Couldn't you also put an export bus that specifies oak logs onto a chest, connect the chest to a saw mill (or an autocrafting table), then put an import bus onto that? I keep a magma crucible full of netherrack do that (and handle its output with a liquid tesseract).

Best way to use multiple machines is by using a router. AE will only use one pattern per output, regardless.
Got it, thanks.
I added it to the list, but I don't know if I will ever do it.
I was wishing for the same feature over the weekend, either as some sort of "heat map" or similar to what F7 does for monster spawning. Just my two cents.
Jul 22, 2013Is there a way to parallel external crafting operations? For instance, I have an arboretum producing sticky resin and rubber wood. I would like to set up two extractors for the resin and two other extractors for the wood. I know how to use interfaces and import buses, but I don't think making multiple encoded blank patterns and putting them in separate machines works.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
I am on 1.47.

My ae autocrafting system seems to dupe things. I've crafted 29 64k storage disks and ended up with all 29, but also with 936 extra storage cells. Similar things happened with my lithium battery and centrifuge extractor. I had 2 lithium cells, autocrafted them into a lithium battery, and ended up with 61 lithium cells and a lithium battery. The extractor did basically the same thing as the battery.
Are you pulling them out before the job is done? I've seen the same thing, and I think it's because I was pulling stuff out as the job progressed.

What version are you running, and did you make sure you have space for some of the earlier components?
I'm running an older version, but I do have plenty of room. Actually, I can "see" that stuff is being done by watching my inventory. It seems like it starts by smelting the silicon exclusively, and for whatever reason, the crafting interface doesn't show the progress.
If this seems like a bug after all, I understand that you don't support downgrade versions.
Jul 20, 2013Here's a minor thing... Check this screenshot of my crafting interface out:Posted in: Minecraft Mods
I requested 5x64k storage, and moved on to other things. When I came back, I found that nothing had been crafted. I believe it happened because the network doesn't know how to smelt silicon from quartz dust. My issue was that I couldn't readily tell that looking at this screen.
Anyway, from one developer to another, this mod is a great piece of work. Congrats.

I have successfully made a long distance setup for my quarry to tie to the ME network.
Unfortunately this is not like a bridge you can use a terminal with. The mod maker said hes working on it so till then well have to run cables around from our data centers to our homes etc...
What I did was take an item tesseract and place it right in between two quarry blocks so they feed the items in. I set it to send only and put it on a frequency called quarry.
I then put an item tesseract connected to a golden transport pipe connected to an ME interface on the same frequency on recieve only. Then I checked my cobble and viola its working!
So you can at least save on cables using quarrys with item tesseracts, or tie it to your automated farms etc.
I cant wait till The Modder sets up a long distance bridge. Running 200+ me cables from my data center to my house wasn't the cleanest way to do it. At least I ran the cables underwater/ground so its hidden.
PLZ make the bridge soon!
Tnx for the Mod! Keep up the greatness!
Ender chests are your friend, mate.
